Jealous Baby Yui Drops the Bomb
“Cadet Rohan, could you tell us a bit about the dungeon too? What kind of place was it?”
“The dungeon was...”
Rohan trailed off, flicking his gaze toward Ichinose.
It was time to spill some details, so he wanted to exchange at least a minimal signal with her.
But Eungae Nose was too busy hiding her flushed face from being called “Yui” just once.
She didn’t have the spare capacity to lift her head right now.
She wasn’t even tuning into her mother’s conversation.
“I’m sorry for making you relive bad memories, Cadet Rohan. Still, there are some details it’s better not to mention publicly.”
“I understand.”
“Thank you. I like how quick on the uptake you are, Cadet Rohan.”
Momo had planned to vet their story once before heading to the Public Safety Bureau.
The public’s gossip could be sharper than imagined, and she didn’t want it wounding her delicate daughter.
Rohan moistened his parched lips with cold water.
Then, spinning his brain, he began carefully assembling his sentences.
“First off, let me say upfront: nothing happened in the dungeon that you might be imagining... uh, well, anyway, I’ll explain.”
He prided himself on how squeaky clean it had been, all things considered, wandering a succubus dungeon.
But claiming nothing at all felt off. He’d snapped out of the enchantment thanks to Ichinose’s kiss, after all.
“Yui and I—er, Ichinose—fell into the realm of the dream demons.”
“!”
The word “dream demons” drew reactions from the crowd.
Momo dropped her smile, unable to hide her surprise. Sion and Clara, who’d been listening quietly, froze like statues.
The only one calmly eating at the table was Noah.
“...”
Ichinose Jun’s eyebrows twitched as he crossed his arms.
He was miraculously holding back his questions, staying silent, but veins bulged raggedly over the back of his tensed hands.
“Sounds like you ran into some tricky monsters. Incubi, maybe?”
Momo recovered her composure in a snap and continued her gentle questioning.
Under the table, she placed a hand on her husband’s thigh, working to calm him.
“No. It was a world inhabited by succubi. All the husks and lesser demons were male.”
Momo nodded in understanding and lifted her teacup to her lips.
Rohan knew what Momo and Ichinose Jun were pondering from their thoughtful expressions. He was well aware of the blunt questions they wanted to ask.
But now was the time to ignore the vibes.
He’d keep their attention diverted with background details until Eungae Nose pulled herself together.
“The dungeon we landed in was a forest as the main stage, a world where the sun never rose. The sky was dyed red and purple, and the air carried a sweet scent.”
“What an intriguing place. Scholars would faint from joy hearing about it.”
“The forest was full of bizarre plants I’d never seen before, blooming with black roses. The flowing rivers were an unknown purple hue.”
Momo visualized the scene in her mind as Rohan described it.
Plugging in the succubus imagery made it sharpen vividly. It felt like she’d visited herself.
“How did you handle food and water? Dungeons mess with time flow, and from what Yui said, you were there for quite a few days. You wouldn’t have eaten or drunk anything suspicious amid the battles, right...?”
“Luckily, I always carry emergency rations and water. We shared those and held out.”
Different listeners, different truths.
To Rohan, it wasn’t a lie, so there was no guilt. He could say it with confidence.
“I see. That luck must come from your preparedness, Cadet Rohan.”
Momo didn’t probe further, swayed by his steady voice and unwavering eyes.
She just pressed on, urging more details toward the main point.
No one around the table could interject into their exchange.
“After landing, we ran into husk packs every time we moved. We encountered dream demons who wouldn’t communicate, and we took them out quick to seize and secure their habitats.”
“You mentioned lesser demons earlier—were they all the non-communicative type?”
Momo might not match Ichinose Jun or Juyeon in raw power, but she was a martial artist.
She’d risen to advisor in Samhwa Nation by leveraging her specialty: her brilliant mind over brute force.
She’d handled dimensional rifts and researched them, so she knew the particular annoyances of succubi and incubi.
“No. We met communicative ones three times total. After beating the last one, we found the monolith in the mansion and escaped.”
“Three times...? Maybe it wasn’t the main succubus hub. Big rifts summon dozens of talkers at minimum...”
“I count that as luck too. If I had to compare to human society, it felt like some remote village... just my impression.”
“Your perspective is fascinating, Cadet Rohan.”
Momo lifted the corner of her mouth, memorizing and mulling the info. Nothing suspicious so far.
The succubus dungeon image was shady in itself, sure.
Now for the crux.
Momo fixed her gaze on Rohan.
Time for the parent’s key question.
“Cadet Rohan.”
“Yes.”
“Nothing happened between you and Yui?”
“...”
Eungae Nose’s mother, Momo, was impossible to read.
Rohan couldn’t gauge how she’d take his words. He wasn’t sure if the “essentials” Ichinose had mentioned applied here too.
As Rohan hesitated, showing his reluctance,
Sion and Clara waited with bated breath, eyes trembling, breaths held.
For girls nursing crushes, that instant stretched like an eternity—until the answer came.
“No matter how much I say, with my credibility being low, it won’t ease your minds. Wouldn’t it be more proper and trustworthy if Yui explains that part herself?”
“You’re right. It’s not right to hear it just from you at the dinner table anyway. And for the record, your credibility isn’t low.”
Momo finished and turned to her daughter beside her.
She gently stroked the head of Yui, still hanging low.
The girl jolted at the kind touch, snapping from her daydream.
“Mother?”
“Yui, we’re at dinner.”
“Sorry...”
“No special incidents in the dungeon? I’ve heard the background from Cadet Rohan.”
Eungae Nose finally opened her eyes and looked at Rohan.
Rohan let out a hollow chuckle at her unusually sluggish response.
“What do you mean by ‘special incidents,’ Mother...?”
“Succubi conjure bad images, don’t they? The sweet scent in the air—I suspect it might’ve been an aphrodisiac, though I’m not certain. As parents, we want to hear there were no issues in that environment.”
Momo whispered an example in Ichinose’s ear.
Ichinose flushed crimson at the explicit instance and squirmed.
“N-No, nothing like what you’re imagining...!”
“Really? I thought I was about to become a grandma out of the blue.”
Imagining that scenario from Momo’s words, Ichinose felt dizzy.
She denied it vehemently: absolutely nothing like that had happened.
““Phew...””
Sion and Clara sighed in relief simultaneously.
Momo, noting them, deepened her smile and turned back to her daughter’s tale.
“Rohan... even under enchantment, he holds out with sheer willpower...”
“Oh my, that’s impressive. Well, if Cadet Rohan had fallen to it, he wouldn’t be here now.”
Rohan and Ichinose nodded in agreement.
Ichinose Jun’s tensed arms loosened.
“Hehe...”
“I see. Rohan’s mental fortitude is indeed remarkable.”
Relieved of worry, Sion and Clara beamed with idiotic grins they couldn’t wipe off.
Chattering to themselves, they piled food onto Rohan’s side plate.
“O-Oppa... eat this...”
“Rohan, fill your belly first. I’ll fetch anything out of reach.”
If nothing happened between Ichinose Yui and him in a succubus-rampant dungeon, that was a blessing.
Some folks couldn’t hold back desire, reduced to licking screens at pics or chugging hot fluids in memory.
No matter how slow they moved, it was trouble if a rival lapped them already.
“I’ll eat. You two relax and have your meal.”
Rohan found Sion and Clara’s clingier-than-usual antics adorable and cute.
But mindful of Ichinose’s parents, he tried to restrain himself—though the girls wouldn’t quit.
“Rohan, what if you stretch and get sauce on your sleeve?”
“Sis is... right!”
Momo chuckled, amused by Rohan’s awkwardness, observing closely.
She was also tuned into how her own daughter would act.
“...”
As Momo predicted, Ichinose stared at Rohan, lips pursed in a duck-like pout.
The mood shifting back to dinner was a relief, yet seeing Rohan sandwiched by beautiful girls made hearts flutter.
How long had she watched girls glued to Rohan?
Emotions swept Eungae Nose’s lips, casting reason aside.
They moved on their own, blurting a line meant to be heard.
“B-But Rohan too... if he hadn’t gotten a k-kiss, he couldn’t break free from the strong enchantment...?”
The atmosphere froze solid in an instant.
