Chapter Title: Became the Great Seraph in a Fantasy World
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The scene unfolding before her eyes.
It could be summed up in a single word.
Hell.
A rotting stench vibrating from all directions.
The chilling clash of weapons.
And then.
Hundreds of undead surging forward like waves.
Rusted armor,
rotting and putrid flesh,
half-exposed bones.
And, from the hollow sockets, the glinting red glow.
Gazing at the cursed corpses charging solely for slaughter, devoid of reason or fear,
she—
the leader of the Eden Knight Order,
one of the Kanan Kingdom's finest warriors—
Holy Knight Eva Gillion gripped her sword, now feeling unbearably heavy, and swung it with all her might.

"Kyaoaaaa!!!"
The Skeleton Knight disintegrated into dust from a single strike of the holy sword infused with holy power.
A being that wouldn't flinch under ordinary attacks, but the blow from a holy sword—blended with blessed silver and amplified by holy power—extinguished its false life in one hit.
Yet, despite this brief victory, an even deeper shadow fell over Eva's face.
More undead pressed in immediately after the fallen Skeleton Knight.
Even as she and the eleven other Holy Knights fought with everything they had, there was no sign of the enemies' momentum waning.
On the contrary, their stamina and the holy power cloaking their bodies were depleting faster with every passing moment.
'No... way...'
Eva, leader of the Eden Knight Order, had overcome countless battlefields.
But no matter how hard she racked her brain,
no answer to their current plight came to mind.
Overwhelming numbers bearing down on them.
Even with the Holy Knights' elemental advantage over undead, the sheer volume left them without a sharp counter.
And the terrain being an open plain where they'd been surrounded made it nothing short of the worst possible scenario.
They shouldn't have let themselves and their subordinates be cornered into this situation in the first place.
But.
Even so.
She harbored no regrets about her judgment in this moment.
No, not just her—
none of the eleven knights here regretted stepping into this situation.
"With this... those people should have escaped safely, right?"
"Yeah. And Yosef... he definitely got the message to the capital."
Their own deaths were undoubtedly painful and frightening.
However,
considering the outcome their sacrifice would bring, they would gladly choose this path again if given another chance.
To protect this nation,
to protect its people.
But.
"Keheok!"
"Isaac!"
Despite their convictions, the cost of that choice came crashing down without a shred of mercy.
"Kaaaak!"
"Keheok!"
Holy Knights collapsing with screams.
The gap created caused their precarious defensive formation to crumble in an instant.
"N-No...!"
"C-Captain... sorry... so... sorry..."
Comrades falling one by one amid voices wracked with pain.
Watching this, a horrific despair and sorrow began to flood Eva's heart.
"Kuh... hng... uhng..."
Eva shedding tears amid her dying comrades.
Now, she was the only Holy Knight left standing on her own two feet.
Covered in wounds and standing alone, she summoned her last reserves of strength and raised her sword.
"Ah... God! Please...!"
With her final resolve, Eva raised her voice.
With those words, she charged toward the undead swarming her.
To fulfill her duty to the very end, even amid excruciating pain.
At that moment.

"!"
In an instant, a brilliant light poured down unexpectedly.
The light was so intense, like the sun plummeting from the sky, that Eva instinctively halted and shielded her eyes.
'Wh-what... is this?...'
Caught off guard by the unforeseen development, Eva was gripped by bewilderment.
But the light was far too blinding for her to even open her eyes fully.
How much time passed like that?
As the eye-stinging light faded and her vision returned to normal,
Eva cautiously lowered the hand covering her eyes.
There were no undead left there.
The stench that had pierced her nose,
the cries like the wails of the dead—all gone.
Only one thing visible.
Something enormous, floating in the air amid the darkness, emitting a soft glow and gazing down at her.
It had six wings: two covering its face, two its feet, and two with which it hovered. (Isaiah 6:2)
And around its wings and body were countless eyes. (Revelation 4:8)
A being of a form that could hardly be called a normal creature.
Yet, as a Holy Knight, she could clearly sense the holy power it emanated—
purer and more immense than any force she had ever encountered.
This colossal, bizarre entity, which even instilled an instinctive dread,
fixed its myriad eyes upon Eva.
And.
Spoke.
