Try Getting Fucked by a Mere Gunner
"If we're even a little late, someone might die."
As Choi Yi-seul spoke urgently, Cha Im-ho reacted immediately.
"Understood. I'll assemble them right now."
Bang!
Immediately after, Choi Yi-seul kicked open the door and dashed out.
'The energy I'm sensing is coming from inside F-class... Why is Han Seonggil, who belongs to B-class, inside F-class?'
Han Seonggil of B-class had gone to F-class and even felt the threat of death. If so, there were only two people she could suspect.
'Jeong Eunseo... and Lee Hyunseung... It seems there's been trouble with one of them.'
While there were certainly a few outstanding gems among the F-class members, at this point there was absolutely no one who could make Han Seonggil feel the threat of death. But Jeong Eunseo and Lee Hyunseung were different. Jeong Eunseo was an Epic-grade mage, and Lee Hyunseung was a man who possessed overwhelming gunner abilities.
Even Choi Yi-seul couldn't determine his exact job rank, yet she judged that he possessed power equal to or even surpassing Jeong Eunseo.
'Please... please, let nothing have happened.'
The reason she had gathered multiple instructors was to prevent Han Seonggil from being killed. Once the Berserker trait manifested and a considerable amount of time passed, he would begin to lose the ability to distinguish friend from foe, while his physical abilities would rise exponentially. It was a crazy trait—if you didn't kill him in one blow and only tried to subdue him moderately, he would grow even stronger and rampage out of control.
'As much as possible, I don't want anyone to die...'
If he tried to kill the others, there would be no choice, but Han Seonggil was still her student. It would be easy to kill him and end it quickly, but she didn't want that. If he could be saved, she would save him. That was Choi Yi-seul's educational philosophy.
'How much... how much time has passed? One minute? No... two minutes?'
Judging by the state of the artifact, it seemed there had been a delay after the Berserker trait manifested. She didn't know why. But the energy of the Berserker trait had thickened to an unpleasant degree, making it clear that quite some time had passed since the incident occurred.
She headed toward F-class even faster.
"You... seem pretty strong. Let's have a go, you and me."
Han Seonggil's eyes began to turn red. Lee Hyunseung looked into those eyes and thought to himself.
'I thought something felt off. So this bastard had the Berserker trait.'
In the original game, Han Seonggil had never manifested his Berserker trait inside the academy. He had never clashed too severely with Yoo Heeyeon, nor had he fought others outside. In other words, Han Seonggil was a character who had deviated from the game's main story. He was just one of those cameo-like figures who passed by in the background.
Even so, Lee Hyunseung felt tense.
'That trait... is incredibly tricky.'
Honestly, Han Seonggil's raw combat power with the Berserker trait wasn't necessarily superior to Lee Hyunseung, a Legendary gunner. Lee Hyunseung himself knew this well. The problem was the effect of the Berserker trait.
In short, it was a crazy trait that turned him into a zombie-like bastard who barely felt pain, charged without fear, and grew stronger the more he was hit.
'It'd be easier to just kill him, but murder inside the academy...'
No matter how boldly Lee Hyunseung acted and how readily justifiable self-defense was recognized within the academy, actually killing a person was another matter entirely. Han Seonggil certainly looked like a lowlife thug, but that didn't mean he could blow the guy's head off inside the academy.
'If it were bastards from Hilleon, I'd have killed them without hesitation.'
Hilleon. If it were those thug bastards from that organization, he would have killed them without a second thought. But Han Seonggil was a different case. In fact, aside from the humanitarian aspect, there was another, even bigger reason why Lee Hyunseung decided he shouldn't kill Han Seonggil.
'If I can control that guy, he'll become a massive asset.'
His personality was hot-blooded and overflowing with inferiority complex, but the Berserker trait was one of the most overpowered among all traits in Broad Academy. Especially the drawback of "the harder it becomes to maintain sanity" could be eliminated by using a specific artifact. In other words, he could recruit a battle-crazed ally who grew stronger the more he fought and could clearly distinguish friend from foe.
Han Seonggil's wildly free-spirited personality would make recruiting him difficult, but the trait was worth that much effort.
'I can't throw away the Berserker trait for nothing.'
Lee Hyunseung's eyes sparkled as if he were looking at a hidden item.
At that moment, Jeong Eunseo beside him looked at him with serious eyes.
"Mr. Hyunseung. Be careful. That person doesn't seem to have ordinary abilities. I sense a very dangerous aura."
Lee Hyunseung gently pushed Jeong Eunseo back and spoke.
"You noticed well. Step back. I'll handle him first, so you..."
The moment Lee Hyunseung tried to dash forward, leaving Jeong Eunseo behind—
"You used up all your mana in the fight earlier, didn't you? I know that, so please rest for a bit."
"...."
She was right. With a mana stat of only about 3, even firing a single Last Bullet would leave his mana nearly depleted. The problem was that he had also used the [C] Gunner's Nimble Steps skill to overwhelmingly dominate Im Tak-ju earlier.
The reason Lee Hyunseung, a gunner, had so naturally deflected Im Tak-ju the martial artist's attacks as if he had memorized every pattern was all thanks to that skill. In other words, Lee Hyunseung had recklessly used not only Last Bullet but other buff skills as well.
If he had known Han Seonggil possessed the Berserker trait, he obviously wouldn't have done so. But who would have thought that a single thug bastard would have such an absurdly overpowered trait?
'Right. At least now that the Berserker trait has manifested, I should gather mana until I can use my skills.'
What Lee Hyunseung could do right now was essentially just basic attacks in game terms. Of course, thanks to the Legendary trait's buff, those basic attacks were absurdly powerful, but it was still better to be certain.
"Eunseo, I'm counting on you. Just hold out for about a minute."
"Leave it to me."
Jeong Eunseo began channeling magic into her staff. Lee Hyunseung gave her a warning.
"That guy has the Berserker trait. The longer the fight drags on and the more damage he takes, the stronger he gets. So don't try to defend with half-hearted attacks. It's better to deal massive damage that can blow off one of his body parts, or restrain him with binding magic."
"Yes. I understand."
Then, Han Seonggil, who had been standing far away, shouted in irritation.
"What the hell are you two babbling about—! Lee Hyunseung—! Get the fuck out here right now!"
Jeong Eunseo, who stood between Lee Hyunseung and Han Seonggil, shouted back.
"Mr. Hyunseung just fought your friend, so wouldn't it be fair for you to fight me first?"
"Hah."
Han Seonggil laughed as if it were ridiculous. Then his expression hardened and he crouched low.
"You arrogant bitch. You really think you're qualified to talk about fighting me? If you want to die that badly, I'll kill you."
Thud!
Han Seonggil kicked off the ground and charged toward Jeong Eunseo. She cast the magic she had been preparing.
[Water Chain]
In an instant, long chains made of water shot toward Han Seonggil with a whoosh. But instead of dodging, he charged straight ahead.
"Using pathetic kid's magic like this! Are you looking down on me?!"
Slash!
Han Seonggil quickly cut the water chains with his sword. But the severed chains recovered in the blink of an eye.
Clatter-clatter-clatter!
The restored chains swiftly circled around Han Seonggil, restricting his movement.
Bang!
The chains struck Han Seonggil with a massive sound. But he cut them again with his sword.
Clatter-clatter!
The chains that fused back together struck Han Seonggil multiple times and bound his ankles, limiting his movement.
Slash!
After cutting the chains once more, Han Seonggil muttered.
"Fuck... this is annoying."
The pattern repeated several times. As if realizing something, he began charging toward the water chains this time.
Tatata-tat!
"It's useless!"
As Jeong Eunseo shouted and tried to slam the water chains into him again—
Squeeze.
Instead of dodging or retreating, Han Seonggil charged straight into the magic.
"Uaaaaaaaah—!"
Caught off guard, Jeong Eunseo urgently double-cast to strengthen her power, pouring intense electricity into the water-based chains.
Crackle-crackle-crackle!
The unpleasant smell of burning flesh began to spread through the area. But Han Seonggil's charge did not stop.
"What the... this doesn't make any sense...!"
Normally, anyone receiving this level of attack should have fainted or their entire body should have gone rigid. Yet even while being struck by electricity strong enough to burn his flesh, Han Seonggil kept charging. He wasn't even cutting the chains with his sword—he was smashing through them with his body.
Whoosh—!
Han Seonggil leaped above Jeong Eunseo and brought his sword down, whispering quietly.
"I... win."
"Kyaaaaaah—!"
Just before Han Seonggil's sword reached Jeong Eunseo's head—
Gunner's Nimble Steps skill is activated.
[C] Temporarily increases movement speed while equipped with a firearm. The amount of increase is affected by current job rank and job level.
Gunblade Arts skill is activated.
[C] Gunblade Arts — When directly attacking or defending with a firearm, additional force is applied. The amount of force increase is affected by current job rank and job level.
Whoooosh—!
Lee Hyunseung, who had rushed in at tremendous speed, blocked Han Seonggil's sword from the front.
Tremble tremble.
Lee Hyunseung's arm, which had caught Han Seonggil the swordsman's blade head-on, was shaking violently.
'Even with Gunblade Arts, it's like this... He's originally a high-ranking swordsman, and with the Berserker trait on top, it's definitely tough.'
Han Seonggil desperately tried to press his sword down toward Lee Hyunseung.
"Goddamn it... Uaaaaaaaah—!"
But the sword wouldn't move at all. Lee Hyunseung's hand was trembling, yet the gun and sword remained fixed in place as if glued together.
"Fuck... Why am I losing to a mere gunner—!"
Grind.
He even bit his own lip as he tried to push Lee Hyunseung back.
Thud.
Jeong Eunseo, whose legs had given out, collapsed on the spot and stared blankly at the scene.
Lee Hyunseung, sweating, whispered quietly to Han Seonggil.
"Try getting fucked by a mere gunner, you pathetic bastard."
