My Little Sister, the Harem, the Otokonoko, and a Complete Bloodbath
The air around us felt even colder than the chill leaking from the open refrigerator in the meat section of the supermarket. Siyeon’s trash bag comment had literally frozen the world solid.
The hand that had been clutching my arm—Daseul’s—began to tremble visibly. She already had rock-bottom self-esteem; hearing something like that from the little sister of the guy she liked was enough to shatter whatever was left of her heart.
“S-Siyeon-ah. Don’t you think that was a bit harsh?”
I tried to step in, but Siyeon cut me off sharply and glared straight at Daseul.
“Harsh? What’s so harsh about it?! Oppa, take a good look at yourself. Why would someone as handsome and well-mannered as you be hanging around with this… this unkempt, gloomy girl? It’s obvious she’s trying to seduce you and get something out of it!”
“H-Hiiik…!”
Daseul completely vanished behind my back. She looked ready to burrow straight into my shirt. Honestly, this was the same girl who had looked like she was about to smash a cup earlier. Even with that kind of physical strength, it seemed a fragile heart still won out in the end. Then again, suddenly slapping someone just because they insulted you in front of your friend’s little sister would be even weirder. Even back when I was an active-duty pure-blooded yankee, I’d steered clear of girls like that.
But Siyeon’s venom didn’t stop there. Her gaze now swung to Wooju, who was standing on my other side.
“And who is this unnie supposed to be? Oppa, did your tastes suddenly change? Why are you grocery shopping with such a pretty unnie? This is dangerous for you!”
Wooju blinked in surprise for a moment, then flashed that familiar “library fairy” smile and spoke softly.
“Hello. So you’re Siwoo’s little sister. I’m Han Wooju. I’m in the same class as Siwoo, and today we were all heading out to learn how to cook together.”
“Cook? You’re going to eat something my oppa makes? Are you insane? Do you have any idea how big a deal it is for oppa to get his hands wet?!”
Siyeon looked like she was about to foam at the mouth. The brocon little sisters in this world were truly terrifying. If you flipped it back to the original world, it would be siscon little brothers. If my own older sister had been a gyaru… yeah, that would’ve been a little worrying. Still, treating her brother like some kind of national treasure that needed protecting was going a bit far.
I decided it was time to put an end to this. In the military, this kind of fight between privates would’ve earned them a proper scolding, but this wasn’t the army. Besides, that kind of role had never really suited me anyway. I hated hearing harsh words, and I hated saying them even more. But sometimes you had to say what needed to be said.
“Kang Siyeon. That’s enough.”
I placed a hand on Siyeon’s shoulder and spoke in a low, serious voice. It wasn’t the usual playful big brother she knew—it was closer to how I used to act back in my original world. After all, scolding your little sister was a big brother’s job.
“……!”
Siyeon’s eyes widened with a flinch. The big brother who had always let her have her way (well, I’d mostly just been indulging her) had suddenly turned stern, and she looked completely thrown off.
“These are my friends. And I was the one who invited Daseul to hang out first. If you act like this, what am I supposed to do?”
“O-Oppa… How can you do this to me? You’re getting mad at me because of those girls?”
Tears looked ready to spill from Siyeon’s eyes at any second, but I didn’t look away. This was the kind of moment where I had to firmly put her in her place, or else Daseul would have a miserable time whenever she came over to our house later. It was for Siyeon’s sake too—harsh words always came back to bite you.
“Apologize. To both Daseul and Wooju.”
“…Ugh.”
Siyeon bit her lip in clear resentment, then gave a small, reluctant bow toward Daseul, who was still hiding behind me.
“…I’m sorry. Our oppa is so fragile that I guess I got a little too sensitive.”
It was an apology laced with plenty of thorns, but Daseul just answered in a tiny, shrinking voice, “I-It’s okay…”
“There! Situation resolved, right? Siyeon, if you’re done shopping, you’re coming with us. We’re making plenty of food today anyway.”
“Of course I’m coming! I’m going to supervise! I need to make sure those unnies don’t try anything weird with oppa!”
And so a bizarre party was formed: a platinum-blonde yankee big brother, a gloomy girl classmate, an otokonoko friend, and a brocon little sister.
I let out a deep sigh and pushed the cart forward.
‘This… isn’t a cooking lesson. It’s a full-blown gathering of weirdos.’
From behind, the four of us probably looked like a hero party heading into a final battle… or more like a time bomb seconds away from exploding.
Ah… Please grant happiness to this wonderful world too.
The walk home was surprisingly quiet. Siyeon was busy watching my mood, and the other two weren’t exactly the chatty, conversation-leading types to begin with. So whenever I stayed quiet and kept the atmosphere in check, everyone else followed suit.
Before I knew it, we had arrived in front of the house. It was just an ordinary two-story detached home, but to the girl named Im Daseul walking beside me, it seemed to hold the same sacred status as the Garden of Eden—or maybe some other holy site.
“Haa… Haaah…!”
Daseul was already breathing heavily before we even stepped through the front door. Her eyes had lost focus as they darted around every corner of the house. The look in them was half appraiser examining priceless antiques, half predator stalking prey. It was honestly a little scary.
‘Hey, wipe your drool. It’s showing.’
She was definitely mapping out an imaginary route in her head: shoe cabinet → living room → my bed. If being that transparent was charming, then it was charming… but was being this transparently perverted really the same as being pure? I didn’t even want to guess what kind of fantasies were about to unfold in that head of hers.
“Alright, everyone come in. Siyeon-ah, go get some water for our guests.”
“Are you trying to do something while I’m gone getting water? …Fine, I’ll get it. There! Happy? Stop frowning.”
Siyeon grumbled but still headed toward the kitchen. The little sisters in this world really were the textbook definition of tsundere. If it had been my original world, my siscon little brother would’ve probably thrown the remote and snapped, “Get it yourself. You don’t have hands or feet?”
I set the grocery bags on the dining table and tied on an apron. I’ll say it again—the combination of a platinum-blonde yankee and a frilly apron apparently created quite the destructive visual in this world. Not only did Daseul stare, but even Wooju—who had been wary of me—glanced at me in the apron, turned his head slightly, and blushed at the tips of his ears.
“Okay, today’s menu is jeyuk-bokkeum. Daseul, you said earlier that you like the fatty parts of the meat, right? I’ll make sure to put in plenty just for you.”
“Y-Yes…! Siwoo, is there anything I can help with? Just tell me what to do!”
Daseul rolled up her sleeves with a determined look on her face. But her hands were still shaking like leaves. I chuckled and handed her an onion.
“Then could you peel this? Wooju, you can mince some garlic next to her. Oh, and hygiene is mandatory, you know that, right?”
The real cooking lesson had begun. I skillfully sliced the meat and prepared the sauce. This was the moment when my “half-assed home cooking” skills, honed from living alone in my previous life, and the techniques I’d picked up watching the cooks during my military kitchen duty finally shone.
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
The rhythmic sound of the knife against the cutting board filled the air. The girls around me—no, Daseul and Wooju, and even Siyeon who was watching from the living room—were completely mesmerized by my hands.
“Wow… Oppa, you’re definitely going to make a great husband someday.”
I could only offer a bitter smile at Siyeon’s muttered comment. The compliments in this world’s setting were so backwards it was almost impressive.
That was when it happened.
“Ah…!”
Daseul, who had been peeling the onion, suddenly lost her balance and staggered. She hadn’t slept much and was already in a daze, and the extreme tension must have made her legs give out. I instinctively reached out and caught her around the waist.
Thud.
“……!”
For a moment, every sound in the kitchen vanished. Daseul’s body temperature seeped through her thin shirt and into me as she fit perfectly against my chest. She froze with her face buried in my chest, and I stayed completely still, arms locked firmly around her waist.
The faint scent of mint body spray mixed with her unique soap fragrance tickled my nose. I could feel her heartbeat pounding wildly against my chest—thump, thump, thump.
This was… a lot closer than I expected. Every time her breath brushed against my collarbone, a strange shiver ran through me.
But of course, the one who shattered this strangely romantic atmosphere was none other than our household’s guardian deity.
“Kyaaaaaaaah! Oppa!!! What the hell are you doing right now?!”
Siyeon’s scream tore through the living room.
“Get away from him this instant! You trash bag unnie! How dare you put your hands all over our pure and innocent oppa!”
Siyeon came running and desperately tried to pry Daseul away from me. Daseul, looking completely out of it, could only let out weak “Ah… Aaaah…” sounds while going limp. Wooju pressed a hand to his forehead, clearly at a loss for words at the absurdity of it all.
I scratched the back of my neck and cleared my throat awkwardly.
“She was about to fall, so I just caught her…”
“Even if you catch her, why do you have to hold her in such a perverted way?! Oppa, you have zero sense of danger!!! Hey you, unnie, come here for a second. Oppa, you’re not allowed to listen, okay? Promise!”
Siyeon’s scolding exploded, and our kitchen instantly turned into a battlefield. But even as she was being dragged away, I saw it—Daseul was touching the spot on her waist where I had held her, wearing an ecstatic smile.
‘…Are we even going to get to eat today?’
It was a bloodbath of epic proportions. And yet, before I knew it, a strange little smile had crept onto my lips.
A home date in a gender-reversed world.
It was far more stimulating than I’d expected… and a lot more fun, too.
