The Nude Patch Applies to Everyone
Single-player Under the Blue Moon is fantastic. I can install whatever mods I feel like on a whim. Even now, people all over the world are developing all kinds of mods in real time. From cheat mods loaded with every convenience feature and ridiculous overpowered ability to tiny cosmetic mods that tweak appearances. But of course, the true flower of the modding scene is the nude mod. What people have called a nude patch for ages is basically the godfather of the entire community, something every game has. Even a dark urban fantasy title named Under the Blue Moon. I had just discovered it and rushed to install the thing.
Under the Blue Moon is set in a fictional modern world where all sorts of legendary beings—including magicians—actually exist. Players pick one of the various races, create a character, and live out their own story in that world. I had already burned through three full playthroughs with a Human-Magician, a Vampire-Assassin, and a Doppelganger-Mafia. This time I planned to start a fresh run as a straightforward Werewolf-Warrior.
One of the game’s biggest strengths is how completely the story changes depending on your race and class. The world is enormous, and every character has its own unique routes to reach an ending. It’s an absurdly vast game. I can only imagine how much of their souls the developers poured into making it real…
Unfortunately, those developers never got paid what their effort was worth. Under the Blue Moon sold fewer than ten thousand copies at launch, thanks to weak advertising or the developer stirring up controversy in the press to make up for it. The game eventually got rediscovered for how fun it actually was, but by then it was too late. The company had already gone bankrupt.
Rumors and articles about other studios buying the IP floated around, but most of them were just tabloid garbage. With the developer gone and updates cut off, every piece of new content in the game now came exclusively from player-made mods.
So was I installing the nude mod to fill in the missing content? Of course not. I just wanted to see the female characters naked.
In high spirits I moved only my right hand, guiding the mouse until my character was complete.
“Huh?”
Was this the power of the nude mod? The werewolf I had created now had a cock attached. True to its canine bloodline, it was impressively huge. There was even a new slider to adjust its length. Half as a joke, I dragged it all the way to the maximum.
“An ICBM?”
I muttered the line and snickered. Since the game itself had no actual sex mechanics, they must have thrown the option in just for laughs. With that thought I finished character creation and hit Start. The instant the game launched, I blacked out.
When I finally regained consciousness, two facts became clear.
The first was that, for some inexplicable reason, I had possessed my own character inside Under the Blue Moon. The second was that the nude patch I had installed applied to every single character in the game, male and female alike.
