The Triplets (1)
The morning at my new workplace was refreshingly pleasant.
"Haaah..."
I stretched languidly as I woke up. Birdsong filled the air outside the window. I'd half-expected erotic dreams in a succubus mansion, but my worries proved unfounded—I'd slept like a rock. It was thanks to the multiple layers of Holy Protector spells I'd cast before bed. The alarm magic I'd set as a precaution hadn't triggered either.
The biggest threat from succubi wasn't anything else—it was sleep. Most of their crimes happened while the target was asleep. They often slipped into dreams to drain life force. But fortunately, there were no signs anyone had touched my body. Unless it was a high-ranking demon, they'd have burst into flames the moment they tried.
Knock knock.
"Who is it?"
"It's me, Rachel."
As I rubbed my sleepy eyes and gathered my thoughts, Rachel knocked from outside. It was 7 a.m.—early for the lady of the house, but typical for servants. Knocking at this hour... did this mansion not have any?
I opened the door, a few questions lingering in my mind. There stood Rachel, slightly disheveled. Not the clinging dress from yesterday, but loose black pajamas that left half her figure exposed. Even the baggy design couldn't contain her oozing allure. Succubus is succubus, after all.
"Did you sleep well, Miss Carrot?"
"Ah, Mrs. Rachel. Good morning. Thanks to you, I slept great. The room was so comfortable."
"Is that so? I'm glad to hear it."
Rachel smiled brightly at my words, lightly brushing back her hair before continuing.
"Breakfast is ready. Would you like to eat? Or if you'd rather sleep more, that's fine too."
"Sure. Will you join me, ma'am?"
"I don't have much of an appetite. But if you'd hate to eat alone, I can keep you company."
So she doesn't eat normal food, as expected. I hadn't seen anyone but her family since yesterday. No wonder they didn't need servants.
"I couldn't impose on your precious time."
With a polite refusal, I parted ways with Rachel and headed down to the dining room. In this four-story mansion, it was on the first floor. It could seat about twenty, but it felt lifeless—no sense of daily use or human warmth. A beautiful chandelier hung over a pristine white tablecloth. Luxurious, but sterile.
On the table steamed a steak and mashed potatoes. With no servants, Rachel must have made it herself.
It's almost too desolate. I didn't love crowds, but I wasn't one for solitude either. Meals were more fun shared. Eating alone like this was rare. Back at the church, there were always plenty of people to eat with.
I miss Lucia already... It'd only been a day, but her smiling face was vivid in my mind. I needed to gather intel fast and get out. She'd said yesterday it was fine to go down to the village below—as long as it was after 6 p.m., post-lessons. Surprisingly, they weren't trying to keep me cooped up.
I eyed the appetizing breakfast and snapped my fingers.
Tak.
A small light popped into existence in the air, then enveloped the steak and vanished.
No poison or magic. It was a detection spell for anything harmful—it would glow red if something was off. Nothing here, so I picked up fork and knife, slicing into the meat. It parted effortlessly under the blade. Steak for breakfast—heavy, but Lucia's type would freak out. I didn't mind. I enjoyed good food, but I wasn't obsessed with eating.
Still, it was delicious. Succubi didn't eat much normally—who had she practiced for? Her husband, dead a year now? A token of refined love, maybe. Idle curiosity to me, though.
After finishing, I returned to my room, changed, and freshened up. Lessons with the succubus triplets started at 9 a.m., lunch from noon to one, done by six. After that, free time—village trips or sleep, whatever. But if I played with her daughters, she'd give a gift. Caring, or pretending to be? Just more reason to stay wary.
Towel-dried and refreshed, I headed downstairs.
"Morning, teacher! Sleep well?"
A twin-tailed girl with a bubbly face greeted me. Ruen, right? Shy, fidgeting Lucy stood beside her.
"R-Ruen... Teacher said no casual talk...!"
Lucy flailed her arms, trying to correct Ruen's rudeness, but Ruen ignored her, barreling ahead in her own rhythm.
"What's the big deal? Teacher's teacher. Right?"
I chuckled softly.
"Call me however you're comfortable."
"Sweet! Carrot sis!"
"U-Ugh..."
Lucy fidgeted hard beside her, so I met her eyes.
"You too, Lucy. I hate formal distance."
"O-Okay... C-Carrot s-sis..."
"Yup, Carrot sis it is."
Ruen was lively and bold. Lucy was passive but adorably cute. I gently stroked her long hair; her face flushed crimson. Strands half-hid it, but her shy expression shone through.
The door burst open.
"Mm... Teacher, already starting...?"
Mid-pet, Lua returned—still in pajamas, bear print and all. Eyes rubbed, she plopped down, yawning with legs splayed unladylike.
"It's barely seven... Priests sure are early birds..."
"Ugh, there she goes again."
"Lua... i-it's nine now...!"
Ruen sighed deeply; Lucy stomped in frustration. Total my-pace slacker. Same looks, polar personalities. Good to memorize for investigating the mansion—maybe one would slip useful info.
"Haha... It's fine. You can learn in pajamas. But really?"
"For real...? Can I sleep more...?"
"No way..."
"T-Teacher's troubled..."
Different vibes, same faces—unique girls. I smiled faintly, clapped to focus them, and pulled theology and holy studies texts from my bag. Lucia's request aside, my priority was tutor. Slacking would raise suspicion.
"Don't worry about me, ladies. First day, so we'll just chat lightly."
Under their focused gazes, I continued.
"Time to start, yeah?"
This job—tutor or infiltration—I'd nail it perfectly. For Lucia and the church.
****
"...Asleep?"
"Yeah."
"Two hours now. Won't wake easy. Doesn't seem light sleeper."
At Lua's words, the other two nodded. They whispered outside the firmly shut door—Carrot's room. They knew she wouldn't stir, but kept voices low. Blame the thick Holy Power seeping out.
No spells or Holy Power on the door itself, unlike daytime. They'd prepared something.
Ruen tapped it lightly.
"Shall we go in?"
Lua blocked her.
"No. No telling what's inside. See that Holy Power leaking?"
"True, but... probably just basic protection spells?"
"Rush in casual, and holy fire roasts you."
"D-Demons and Holy Power... total counters... We're a bit resistant, but..."
Lucy affirmed Lua. Holy Power was demonic kryptonite—normal demons retched near it. But they were different. Yin-only absorbers, granting double the resistance of average succubi. Weak Holy Power? No sweat. That's how they studied scriptures fine.
Even so, Carrot's was too strong. Rachel's daughters—high succubi blood, thinned by low-demon dad. Special build let them handle some Holy Power too.
"Wanna eat soon. Any way?"
"Upper knight—dream magic won't stick. Minimal effect at best."
"Then what? Mom struggled with that level too..."
Ruen pondered deeply. Bringing her as yin bait was easy. After? Tricky. Rachel's barrier weakened Holy Power mansion-wide, but direct help drained massive mana.
That strong inside weakened zone? Top-tier upper knight—demon-slayer elite.
"Th-Then... magic tools in the room...?"
Lucy's idea broke the silence.
"Magic tools?"
"Y-Yeah... Deep sleep ones should work. Just dispel Holy Power first... then easy..."
"Sounds good... but risky?"
"F-Fine... Her protector rejects only impure stuff..."
From yesterday—Lucy chatted her up pre-bed, scanned via touch. Info-gathering her specialty. Less mana than sisters, but obsessive edge unmatched.
Her conclusion? Reliable.
"Sneak in once? If caught, say sleep-talking check."
"Yeah. Good instincts—alarm spells already."
"L-Let's go. Intel vital."
Heads together, they decided: infiltrate. Silencing spells on steps and presence.
"I'll open."
Ruen led—best Holy resistance. Silent knob turn, into the room.
Inside: Carrot in loose pajamas, deep asleep. Entry: uneventful.
Lucy inhaled, eyes glowing red—info scan active. Lua scanned surroundings, Holy shield up.
Ten minutes later...
"Room safe. B-But... ten protectors on her body..."
"Insane. Ten while sleeping?"
"F-Figured room ones'd get spotted... compressed, intricate..."
"Monster. No wonder Mom struggles."
Lua sighed, tongue clicking. Grimaced, then flat.
"Dispelling'll take ages. Lucky she's heavy sleeper."
"Guess... Sound Gate first then."
Ruen serious, fingers tapping.
"Y-Yeah... Sound Gate..."
"Dream entry easiest... but brain-fry on try. Tough foe."
"Love it. Fired up."
"Mess up, we burn..."
Ruen sighed softly. Fidgety Lucy piped up, voice shaky.
"Th-Then... dispel protector first... I-I do the Sound Gate...?"
Ruen and Lua's eyes widened. Timid Lucy—requesting?
"Fine by me... why?"
"W-Well... ehehe..."
Lucy grinned, stroking hair, face crimson. Licked lips.
"First one's... m-mine... wanna claim her..."
Ecstatic tone. Eyes glazed on Carrot's face.
"Love at first sight. Cute."
"That into her? Whatever, food's food."
Lua smiled; Ruen nodded. Instant unanimous. Lucy beamed, swallowing hard.
"O-Okay... starting today, slowly peel those protectors..."
Anticipation dripped. Ten types. Dispel to implant Sound Gate—enslave, tweak body rules.
Daily: infiltrate, weaken Holy Power, analyze rites. Full dispel—brief vulnerability—etch Sound Gate. Conquest easy.
Lucy stared at sleeping Carrot, gaze sticky, humid. Golden locks, sculpted face. Petite but perfect curves. Pajama-swollen breasts like ripe fruit.
Sound Gate complete—they'd claim the forbidden fruit.
"Just wait..."
Her whisper vanished in magic filter. Corrupt the staunch, devout knight.
Their vow. Carrot's ordeal—truly beginning.
