Why Women Became 'Amkeot'
There was a woman.
No one knew where she came from or when she first appeared, but she raised her voice and shouted to the world:
"Girls can do anything!!"
In a patriarchal society, those words earned her nothing but the cold shoulder of everyone around her.
"All women, rise up!!"
Women are the superior sex. Men belong beneath them.
At first, people simply ignored her and laughed at her words. But one by one, then two by two, women began to agree with her, and to join her.
Within a single year, her ideology of female supremacy had spread across the entire globe.
As if the whole world had fallen under some kind of spell, people obeyed her every word, and women began to disregard and discriminate against men.
The conflict between men and women deepened, bit by bit, year after year.
And at last, this woman developed the drug that would end it all.
It was called the Masculinity-Eradicating Drug — a drug that had no effect whatsoever on women who took it.
But the moment a man swallowed it, his aggression and muscle mass withered away, his virility weakened, and his personality turned timid and meek.
Feigning ignorance, the women slipped the drug into the food and drink of their husbands, their lovers, their families, their friends — and so the world ended in victory for women...
...or so everyone believed.
At least, until the side effects of the drug came to light.
The side effect was a catastrophic collapse in the birth rate of male children.
It wasn't merely a slight decline. The ratio plummeted to one in a thousand, and humanity found itself staring down the barrel of extinction.
Researchers scrambled to develop an antidote. Every attempt ended in failure.
They tracked down the woman who had first created the drug — only to find that she had erased every trace of her existence, as if she had never existed at all...
Made worse still, the drug's effects caused men to refuse intimacy with women altogether, and the birth rate sank to rock bottom across the entire population.
With extinction looming over the human race, the women made their choice.
They would give up everything.
Even the very title of woman — the last position of equality they held alongside men...
