A Midnight Consultation with the Priestess (3)
A Midnight Consultation with the Priestess (3)

We left Ariel's mansion and decided to return to the inn where we had stayed before to pack up our things.
As for me, my luggage amounted to only a few changes of clothes, and most of my equipment was stored in my Inventory.
I wasn't particularly interested in stuff from this other world. As far as this world's culture went, by my standards it was just novels crammed full of frustrating melodrama. Not that I had much interest in things like plays, either.
I occasionally got a hankering for something like a video game, but sex was more fun, so I didn't miss them that badly.
The girls, however, said they'd spread all sorts of things around their room. They probably had mysterious secrets that I knew nothing about.
"Here. Your coffee is served."
"Ah, thank you."
So, at the moment, I was drinking coffee alone in the inn's dining room.
The freckled girl set down my coffee and hurried away in short, quick steps. She always seemed to give me expectant looks, staring at my face as if telling me to order something else. But I wasn't especially hungry. Feeling awkward, I turned away.
Kind of boring being alone.
After stuffing my meager belongings into my inventory, I had knocked on the girls' doors, thinking I'd help them, but the two of them had refused, and adamantly at that. A stubborn attitude that seemed to say they absolutely would not let me in. What on earth was inside that room? Had they made a total mess of it? We hadn't even stayed here that long.
...
The two of them had still not come down by the time I leisurely finished my coffee.
What was taking them so long? I could maybe see Yuri taking her time, but Reni never looked like she had much stuff.
Come to think of it, that girl. She had brought all kinds of weird toys to my room.
There was something that looked like a cat's tail, and... even at a glance, that tail wasn't the kind you hung from a belt. Its tip was shaped like a string of little beads attached in a row... that had to be anal beads. Th-that she'd buy toys like that.
I never knew she had such admirable hobbies. Now that I thought about it, Reni used to freak out when I touched that spot, and Yuri would flinch and twitch whenever I laid a hand there... I definitely had to try targeting that area next time.
Oh man, I felt like my dick was about to get hard...
"Ah, um, excuse me..."
"Y-yes, yes?!"
Good grief!
When I looked up, the freckled girl was standing over me with a tray covering the lower half of her face. Startled, I snapped my legs together. I had gotten far too indecent in a public place. Fortunately, that wasn't what she meant to point out.
"S-so, what about your, your other companions, where did they go?"
"Ah, th-they went to pack their things and still haven't come back down. Haha..."
The freckled girl’s eyebrows drooped.
"Ah... s-so you're checking out today, then?"
"Yeah, something like that."
Gulp. I heard the freckled girl swallow.
"Ah, um, well then..."
-Tap-tap-tap.
"Yoo-jin. I'm all packed."
Reni's slightly subdued voice came from beside me. When did she get here?!
"Ah, really...?"
Reni was staring fixedly not at me but at the freckled girl. Her attitude was like a little dog, a Pomeranian, bristling and growling with its fur puffed up.
Come to think of it, I remembered reading something about how Pomeranians thought they were incredibly huge and menacing and challenged things fearlessly. Watching Reni do just that was seriously...
Hmm.
In a word, it was hilarious.
But the freckled girl had vanished somewhere, whether because Reni scared her off or not. Didn't she have something to say? Well, anyway, Reni could be a bit snappy... yesterday she even bit me, after all...
Having chased off the freckled girl that way, Reni looked around.
"Y-Yuri isn't back yet?"
"Nope. She hasn't come down yet."
At those words, Reni visibly relaxed. What was going on with her and Yuri? She'd been constantly walking on eggshells since this morning.
"I'm here."
-Thud.
Yuri set a huge backpack down beside her.
"Here. Put this in for me."
"...."
Th-this girl....
We stored the party’s luggage in my Inventory. Yuri had been reluctant at first, but once she learned that it added no weight, she began using my Inventory as though it were her own pocket. She'd become completely shameless.
Anyway, the sight was incomprehensible. When had that backpack gotten so big? Had she gone shopping again without me knowing? When?
Maybe she'd bought more new toys in the meantime? Let me just take a look...
"Just try opening it. I remember perfectly well how I packed everything, got it?"
"Not looking. I said I'm not looking. Do you think I'd stoop that low?"
"...The way you're so vehemently denying it is suspicious."
When I stared hard at the backpack, Yuri struck first. This cheeky brat. Someday when those toys were popping in and out of your ass, we'd see if you could still act so brazen.
"No. I seriously won't look. I don't violate people's privacy."
"Hmm..."
When I gave her a reassuring smile worthy of human garbage, Yuri somehow looked even more uneasy. We then left the inn and headed for the Guild.
Simply returning to the mansion wouldn't solve the problem of the elf twins, so I planned to begin with what we could accomplish inside the dungeon.
First things first: the Witch's quest.
