Gym Hunt (1)
My own plan in place, two more days slip by, making it the sixth day since I became a woman. Following someone's advice, I quit my job on Tuesday, so today is Monday morning. The day when students and office workers alike drown in despair over the end of their dreamy weekend, dragging themselves out of bed early to stumble toward their social roles. And naturally, as an unemployed bum, I wake up at noon like always. Of course, I didn't forget to get up at 10, scroll Shorts for two hours, and order delivery for lunch.
The familiar chime of the delivery bell rings out. The lazy me, who sure as hell wasn't showered and ready, finally hauls myself out of bed with great effort. I carefully bring the food inside before heading to the bathroom to prepare for the day—which, of course, just means a quick splash on my face. I washed my hair last night, so skipping today should be fine.
Todays lunch is another bossam lunchbox. Cheap, filling, and tasty—thats the appeal. Back when I had my old body, Id add extra meat to really fill up, but now even the basic portion leaves me feeling stuffed, almost too much.
After polishing off a proper meal, I open the fridge and grab one of my stocked coffees. Even after the body change, my kid-like taste buds havent taken to bitter coffee, so I bought 15 bottles of sweet condensed milk lattes. 2+1 sale for the win.
With dessert in hand, I plop down at the computer, about to fire up my daily routine of games, when I hesitate. Flashes of my weekend self play out like a panorama.
Ah, fuck.
Me, marveling at my teammates garbage skills.
What the hell are you doing... Me, unable to hide my shock at their idiotic decisions.
Sigh... well, we won anyway. And me, pulling off the victory.
Ah. Yeah. Hnng. And me... masturbating...
Looking back, Im honestly proud of myself for sticking to one thing so diligently. With laziness like this, I could be an outstanding NEET forever. Oh, not knocking the masturbation, of course. Playing games all day deserves flak, but a little self-love? Totally fine. Yeah, yeah.
Anyway, using weekends me as a cautionary tale, todays me launches Operation: Ditch the Pathetic Yesterday Me, Season 1238.
Alright, now... what to do first.
I pull up the list my diligent, smart, kind past self from three days ago wrote out. Sure, I remember it, but seeing it again might jog my motivation and reaffirm my resolve.
[Things to Do From Now On]
1. Exercise
2. Practice singing
3. Prepare for streaming
4. Play games
...At least I stuck to one goal. Thats something. But now, time to focus on other tasks—boldly cross off the ones Im already doing or planning to skip.
Just like that, I delete item 4: Play games. Sounds noble, but its more want-to-do than should-do anyway. My conscience was starting to prick a little, so better to clear it out cleanly.
Now, the rest. Hmm... Number 2, practice singing, doesnt seem doable right now. Depends a lot on the teacher, and theres no way a vocal academy is nearby. Better to research first.
Next, 3: Prepare for streaming. Basics are easy, but sustaining it needs direction, topics, buzz—definitely. So, shelve this for now too.
That leaves one clear choice. The final item: 1. Exercise.
Ughhh... I hate it. Hate leaving the house, hate people, hate the hassle. And most of all, hate exercise itself. Since elementary school, Ive consistently loathed it—exercise was distant, harsh, utterly repulsive.
...But gotta do it. Cant ruin this hot body I finally got. Plus, for smooth... activities, stamina boost is essential. Yeah, thats secondary. Absolutely not the main goal—maintaining this body is priority, stamina for jerking off is just a bonus.
Anyway, I head out.
The sun shines bright today.
One pro—and con—is the cluster of gyms around my place. Wide selection is nice. But I have to choose (con one), and that means visiting, checking, consulting (con two). Pain.
Still, gotta. What choice do I have.
First stop: the closest one.
"Welcome! This is Happy Gym."
Monday, 1 PM. Office workers and students are grinding away, so the gym—charitably—hosts freelancers; uncharitably, bums and seniors. Im the former, supposedly.
The female staffer at the counter, eyeing her phone in the near-empty gym, snaps to a greeting as the door opens. She spots my face and looks mildly shocked. Getting used to it by now. Objectively, Im no average looker.
I ignore her reaction and get to the point.
"Uh, Id like to sign up for the gym."
"Oh, uh, sure, Ill help you. This way."
She shakes it off quick and leads me to a table. Lucky its a woman—no awkward vibes.
"For the PT you mentioned—"
"Yeah."
"And membership, workout clothes—"
"Yep."
She rambles through the explanations—nothing tricky. PT comes in 10, 20, 30 sessions. Clothes, membership, locker included, some perks. Standard stuff.
Now the real deal.
"So, for 30 PT sessions, its a total of 2 million won."
"...Uh, yeah."
??? That expensive? Discounted to 55,000 won per session? What the—
"Will you pay now?"
"No."
I blanch and refuse on instinct. She gives me a puzzled look after my sudden freakout post-attentive listening.
"...Okay, Ill check more and get back to you."
"Yeah."
I ignore the awkward air, grab my stuff, and bolt.
...Burning 2 million over three months? Nah. Facilities looked decent, though.
"Come back when you decide!"
The price sparks thoughts of scouting elsewhere, so I head to the next gym.
This one looks sketchy from the entrance. Peeling paint on a rundown building screams bad vibes.
"Second floor, right..."
I push through the shared lobby glass door—bam, those speckled old stairs. You know the ones. Eugh... Turn back now? Nah. Could be remodeled inside, cheap, friendly staff—who knows.
Clinging to faint hope, I climb. Top floor: another chilling sight. Dingy glass door, way filthier than it should be.
...Can glass get that grimy? A wipe would fix it. Faded stickers cling to the hazy, mystery-marked surface.
Ding-a-ling— I ease the door open. Inside: decently clean but no way calling it nice. Staffer at counter, glued to phone, hasnt noticed me. Built like a tank—serious gym rat. Kinda trustworthy.
"Welcome."
She reacts late to the bell, greets, looks up. Eyes lock on my face—stone-faced to super friendly in a flash.
"New member?"
"Uh, yeah... here for a consult."
"Sure, have a seat here!"
No burning desire to join, but bailing with Ill just go feels too late. Half-willing, I sit for the consult.
Then the usual boring spiel repeats. Same as before: membership this, PT that.
"For 30 PT sessions—"
Price? This place seems cheaper.
"We can do 1.4 million won."
...Cheap! Super cheap. Worth considering. Facilities arent bad either.
"Hmm. Okay, Ill think it over and come back."
"Yes! Visit again when you decide. Thanks!"
Staffers likable despite first impressions, facilities okay. Shower room was nice. Cheap too. But cheap often means flaws...
Guess Ill check one more before deciding. On to the next gym.
