Go Min-ji's Night
For a while, I played around with Danto. The stuff I'd stirred up was pretty extensive and complicated, but most of it was things like undergoing reviews, drafting plans, or just getting started on projects, so I had some free time on my hands. In my rough assessment, things were already wrapped up anyway. All I had to do was point them in the right direction, and the secretaries would handle the rest.
After slacking off like that for a few days, I soon found myself deep in thought. Go Min-ji had helped me out a ton lately, so I was wracking my brain over how to repay her properly. Sure, she'd told me to just come over and have fun, but come on—human emotions aren't that simple, right? Showing up empty-handed and just hanging out felt wrong to me. When you're a guest, the polite thing is to bring gifts with both hands full, especially since I'd received all sorts of help from her.
I couldn't just go bare-handed. No way.
"That said, I can't give her the 'Undying Ecstasy' either."
The burning rose I'd gifted to my aunt—had I not known its flower language and meaning, maybe it'd be fine, but now that I did, giving it to my cousin felt a bit off. Even if I was keeping all options open. Plus, Go Min-young and Go Min-ji were mother and daughter, right? If word got out during conversation that I'd given the same gift to both, it'd be awkward in all sorts of ways.
"Nothing's coming to mind."
I even considered weapons. Since Go Min-ji loved human hunting, maybe something related would make a good gift. But thinking about it... she was a core executive at Militaris herself, and her mom, Go Min-young, was the president. Any weapon I gave her probably wouldn't impress her much.
Ha. What a dilemma.
Grandpa, Go Min-young, Go Min-ji—they were all drowning in money and power, so it was impossible to gauge what they might want. The Go master's board I'd given Grandpa had been a massive hit, but the rose for my aunt felt a little off-target, and for Go Min-ji, I had zero clue.
"Sigh... looks like there's only one way."
No choice. Time to pull out my secret weapon....
"What's up? This early in the morning... If you want to keep going from yesterday—"
Call Go Min-young right away. Who better to ask about her daughter than her mom?
For reference, the "yesterday" she mentioned was our phone sex, which had been escalating in intensity with each passing day. It was scorching hot... We'd reached the point where we masturbated while watching each other on video, and even though it was technically just jerking off, it felt like more than that. I couldn't wait to meet her in person and fuck for real.
"I've arranged to visit Min-ji noona's villa sometime next week."
"Ah."
"She's helped me a lot lately, so I want to prepare a special gift, but I don't know much about her preferences. Even when I ask, I don't get straight answers."
"You're wondering what gift would be good?"
"Yes."
"Didn't you say you'd just 'play' with Min-ji? Isn't having fun with her enough?"
"Hmm. Doesn't she have something special she really likes?"
"Well... she's got such a quirky personality."
"..."
How's a mom supposed to say that?
"Buying her a new warship might make for a pretty meaningful gift."
"A warship???"
"Yeah. The one I sent to Namdong Industrial Complex... even Min-young hasn't touched that yet."
"..."
No way—that thing looks like it costs hundreds of trillions. Where would I even get that kind of money...?
She must've picked up on my hesitation because Go Min-young burst out laughing over the phone.
"I'm kidding. If our Mu-yeol shows up healthy and full of manly charm, wouldn't that be gift enough?"
"What kind of talk is that..."
"Hehe. This feels like déjà vu. I remember calling Min-ji before about what to get you, and it went something like this. No help at all..."
"Don't worry too much. She's not the type to overthink it."
"I, I see..."
"She's a bit of a loner, so just being there with her will make her happy enough. She might grumble, but still."
"Got it. Thank you."
"Sure. And... I've cleared my schedule for mid-December too. The 12th, Saturday, and 13th, Sunday. If you come from Friday night..."
"I'll head over Friday evening."
"Hehe. Good."
Go Min-young's "good" came out so sticky and seductive. Fuck. I got hard instantly. Tempted to dive into phone sex again, but I hung up, steeling myself like a sage resisting temptation. She was super busy right now anyway, and I didn't want to keep relieving my anticipation for her through indirect stuff like that. No matter how you dress it up, it was still just masturbation. Now that we'd set a date, better to hold back my desire for her and unleash it all that day.
That said, a raging hard-on needs release, so I grabbed Sua and the team leaders for some rolling around. Hot pussies today too.
"How about something simple like making her a necklace?"
After the steamy sex, I kept pondering the gift for Go Min-ji. Settled on a necklace. A plain one would be boring, though... What if I used the RK-99 recipe? Obviously, I couldn't give her real RK-99—that'd cause an uproar—so I'd tweak or omit a few parts to create a special material. Most of those were just pretty with no industrial value, so no risk of scrutiny. Pick one and make a necklace out of it. Perfect. Plus, it was time to lay some groundwork for the future.
"I'll say I got into chemistry and made it myself... Gotta plant that seed."
That way, when I "invented" RK-99 later, it'd be believable. No one would buy it if it dropped out of the sky. Room-temperature, normal-pressure superconductor wasn't just Nobel-worthy—it deserved a prize named after me. Even I'd doubt it.
Anyway, with that excuse in mind, decision made. No point overthinking; no genius ideas were coming.
"Sua, I'm making a necklace for noona. I'll create the material, then have experts craft it into one."
"Uh... You mean Go Min-ji miss?"
"Yeah."
"A necklace for your cousin?"
"Yeah."
"..."
Sua tilted her head slightly. She thought it was weird, I guess. It was a bit off, but nothing else came to mind. A ring was out—its meaning was way too clear, even for me.
"I've actually been interested in chemistry for a while. Wanted to tinker around."
"Aha..."
"It'll use a ton of electricity, so let's convert a room into a full chem lab. Rip out and rewire everything."
"Understood."
"I'll tell you what we need."
Sua procured everything three days later. The massive room renovation went quickly too.
"Whoa. This is insane. Power of wealth."
For safety, I suited up in the Militaris HQ suit, full helmet and all. Cleared out all secretaries except Baekseol and brought her in. From now on, only me and her. Officially for safety, but really security. Baekseol was absolutely loyal no matter what, but the others? Not so much. With just her, I felt totally at ease.
"Time to make some RK-99 too."
RK-99, the room-temp superconductor, had insane implications, but the process was ridiculously simple. Grind and bake lead, copper, sulfur, etc. Timing and temperature were key, though. I knew it all. And how to tweak for other materials too.
First, RK-99. Wanted a prototype to see the real thing.
"What... what are you making?"
Baekseol asked as I ground sulfur, copper, and lead with the suit's power. Her face said she had no clue what was going on. Come to think of it, with her tech stat over 200, she might know a bit about chemistry.
I paused dramatically before answering.
"Just between us."
"Yes."
"Room-temperature, normal-pressure superconductor."
"Pardon?"
"A material that could change human history."
"Ah... I see."
Fuck. She doesn't believe me. This knight bitch. Hah. Just watch. I'll make your eyes pop.
Beep. Bleep.
Loaded sulfur, copper, and lead into electric kilns, set temps and timers. Now it was a waiting game. Bake and cool in 12- or 24-hour cycles.
"The result will blow your mind."
"I see."
