The Newbie Who Left the Yard #3: Boss Mob Trial
Gluttony Division Body—those were the days. I marched out to subjugate the mutant-infested city, but after carving up just the Blood Vessel Predator, I beat a hasty retreat.
Sure, I'd snagged some unexpected loot from it and learned I could forge gear from the stuff, but that wasn't the whole reason. If I had to pin it down, that was only part of it. The real reason? I straight-up couldn't gauge the damn thing.
Even taking down the Blood Vessel Predator back then had me on death's door. Thanks to the heavenly combo of Absorption Great Law and Yin-Yang Five Elements Scripture, my wounds healed fast, but the battle left gashes torn to the bone in multiple spots. And over half my limbs were evenly roasted by the grenades and high-explosives I'd detonated in mutual destruction with those bastards.
That's when it hit me. Yeah, if I push any further here, I'm actually gonna die. With my ammo running dry anyway, I chose immediate retreat. Relying on Absorption Great Law, I might've scraped by another mid-boss, but you think the boss is an idiot? Waiting patiently while I wipe out all the mid-bosses?
The Monster Flower squatting brazenly in the village center was way beyond what I could handle. Hell, think about it.
"That hideous freakshow Monster Flower—it's definitely a grass-type on the outside... but there's no guarantee it'll stay parked there forever. Plus, I kicked over its feeding trough."
The thing's got this classy hobby of gaping its maw to catch falling snow, but that's only because nomadic raider scum kidnap people from the mountains on snowy days and toss 'em onto its lower leaves as snacks. Why move when the idiot raiders stuff food right into its mouth? Hell, if I had delivery omakase showing up like clockwork every meal, I'd never leave my room—confident in that.
But the problem? Like I said, I'd turned all those raiders into good little corpses.
"Raiders hit the village every 2-3 weeks, right?"
Before learning martial arts, I was too scared of mutants to even piss in that direction, so I never crossed paths and didn't know. Turns out their visits were pretty frequent. And by then, it had been 2-3 weeks easy since their last food drop.
Who knows the Monster Flower's patience limit, but around then, it wouldn't be weird if it started flipping its shit.
And in the middle of that, if I go slicing up the mid-boss splitting the village east-west and pull aggro across the whole area? Even if the Monster Flower uprooted and started stomping around, I'd just nod like, yeah, checks out.
So I quietly took out just one and bailed from the village fast.
"If I ever revisited that place, it'd only be when I was dead certain I could slice both the mid-boss and the main boss Monster Flower at once."
Yeah, looks like that time was now.
Reactions were lit. Well, yeah—which live ends with a champion road challenge in just 3 episodes? Normally by episode 3, even at top speed, you're barely past the nut tree forest, getting pummeled by mill tanks.
And right on cue, a DM flew in from Master.
Disciple!!
*Jung Kkeokma: Yep.
You're serious?!?!
*Jung Kkeokma: Yep.
Why?!! What the hell?!! Why?!
*Jung Kkeokma: Feels like it has to be now.
In my view, delaying would only jack up the difficulty. I laid out every bit of my reasoning and process to Colorless Master without skipping a thing.
Yeah... makes sense.
Even Colorless Master nodded along after hearing it. Sure, he still looked uneasy,
but like you said, Newbie—feels like now's the optimal window.
Preparations good?
*Jung Kkeokma: (Selfie of full gear-up)
Already locked in and committed, huh...
Seeing my full setup—cold weapons forged in the smithy plus firearms looted from raiders—he realized persuasion was pointless and nodded.
Alright, if you're going—do it right!
I'll cheer you on with the hype dance!

*Jung Kkeokma: (Demon king eyes popping out gif)
Bonus hype from Master on top. Pumped up, I finished armoring up and stood at the shelter entrance.
"Alright, let's roll."
Boss raid. Starting now.
Historic milestone—Jung Kkeokma hits boss raid in just 3 episodes. Push the plot fast, but prep was thorough.
Last time, even 1.5-stage mutants shrugged off the AK-47 pretty well.
Ambiguous 2-stage, solidly past 1-stage. Even with just partial skull hardening, they tanked AK rounds no problem.
Well, not no problem, exactly.
One side of the skull caved in, brains leaking, right arm and leg twitching in sync—not exactly "tanking," but those bastards still posed a real threat, so I cleared out all AK-level gear.
Replacements? Heavy hitters: Allah's magic wand RPG-7 that shone last time, M-32 grenade launcher, Barrett M82 anti-materiel rifle.
Regular trash mobs? I can solo wipe 'em.
With Yin-Yang Five Elements Scripture's reversal tactics and Absorption Great Law, I've got near-infinite sustain. Hope shares the vibe, so trash mobs are basically walking potions. Firearms naturally focused on sniping mid-boss and up.
Plan's simple.
M82 to blast the boss's big head, spam M-32 grenades while it's dazed, then rush in.
Blood Vessel Predator time, I had no size read so I dumbly front-door'd from floor 1. Now? I can ballpark mutant sizes.
"These fuckers ain't hiding indoors."
At first, I cursed the raiders' map sketches—no size scale? But nope, 1:1 accurate.
"Each one's big enough to nest in a whole 5-story building."
Sorry, raiders. Accurate maps, free guns, even snowmobiles—you're the best raiders ever.
Prepped up, hopped on the snowmobile. No noisy off-roader this time. Target's just the boss erosion. Heavy weapons sledded behind the snowmobile, hit fast, snipe the eroded commander's noggin—that's the play.
Alright, let's roll.
Vroom—the snowmobile roared to life, tearing across the snow-blanketed plains. Familiar mountain path to downtown? Piece of cake.
(Heavily armed snowmobile pic)
Hit downtown. Plan simple.
1. Wipe mid-eroded.
2. Slice main eroded.
3. Profit!
Posted on arrival. Gallery bros tossing casual good-luck memes like it ain't their asses on the line. Nothing beats scrolling dumb threads to ease pre-fight tension. Took in Elf Hater sis's last cheer, closed the gallery.
Yeah, just like always.
Dismantled the sled from the snowmobile, roped the gear tight. No more snowmobile inside downtown—on foot from here.
Target spot: comm tower on village outskirts. Snipe headshot first, so high ground key.
Got there and—
"Fuck, they expect me to climb this?"
Whoosh—about 30 meters of iron tower. Years abandoned: rust and ice patches everywhere. Sure, I've got that FBI-level infiltration from 5th floor to 4th, but climbing this? Whole different beast.
But what choice? Cursing up a storm, I climbed the tower.
"Eyes up, eyes up."
Luckily, no need for the tippy-top—maintenance platform midway worked. Shoveled snow, melted the refrozen ice sheet, prone position.
Hit live, chambered a round.
That's the bastard.
Way off: mutant cluster claiming a ruined rural mart's parking lot as its lair.
Gluttony Division Body.
The monster whose life ends today.
