A Date with the Goddess
The next day, I went to the lord's manor office and recounted what had happened yesterday — making sure to emphasize that the bastard lord of Weaverpool hadn't shown so much as a glimpse of his face, right up to the very end.
Renata was in the middle of a hurried conversation with the captain of the guard. She let out a derisive snort.
"How could he commit such an insult?!"
The captain tilted his head.
"But if he really was busy…"
"Even if he truly was busy, there are still basic courtesies one must observe, are there not?!"
"W-well, yes."
The captain was getting chewed out for no reason. I stepped in at a suitable moment.
"Acting Lord, I'm fine with it."
"No matter how poorly the territory is doing or how busy he is! A Hero from a neighboring fief we've even been exchanging with comes to pay his respects, and he makes him wait half a day? And then never even shows his face at the end? The lord of Weaverpool is a disgrace as a human being!"
Renata was furious as if the slight had been dealt to her personally. The captain sighed and shook his head.
I was genuinely moved.
Renata-maman getting angry for my sake… she's even sexier than usual today!
I wanted to push that furiously fuming Renata-maman down onto her back and shower her with affection. Especially since her body heat rose when she was angry — shoving my cock into her mouth would feel incredible.
Well, this much tells me that lord is trash. He was probably either drinking himself stupid or making the rounds at some secret workshop.
Those were the sorts of things a villain would get up to. I just couldn't pin down what type of villain he actually was.
If the ledgers were anything to go by, he was trash no different from Koldo.
Still, the lord of an entire fief couldn't possibly be the same grade of scum as Koldo. If he were, he would have been found out long ago.
Don't you worry, you bastard lord of Weaverpool. I'll take everything you have soon enough. I don't forget a grudge easily!
"Lashu."
"Yes, Acting Lord."
Renata looked at me with a gentle smile — a smile as warm and yielding as a bed.
"Lashu, I will file a formal protest regarding this matter."
"That could sour relations between the two fiefs."
"Even so, some things must be said. If the one who committed the insult can act so brazenly — if the perpetrator is always the one who gets to stand tall — then is that not a world gone completely wrong?"
"I don't particularly want to slander the nobility, but a man who can commit such an insult without a second thought isn't going to listen to the Acting Lord either. I have an idea, so leave it to me."
"To you?!"
Renata and the captain both looked startled.
With that, the conversation ended and I stepped outside. Isis asked after me, sounding worried.
Art thou all right?
"I don't lose my composure over something this small. You know that!"
Hehe. Then wilt thou spend today with me?
"Oh, sex for the first time in a while?!"
Isis snorted. So tsundere.
Hmph, art thou a beast? That is not what I meant!
Then what?
We came out onto the street. When I asked so casually, Isis hesitated.
Th-thaat, haaah, thaat…!
What was she trying to say? I tilted my head and prompted her.
Whatever it is, just say it. I'll listen!
First, leave the territory.
Yes, ma'am!
We left the fief. Outside the walls, the greenery was lush as always, and a pleasant breeze rolled through the trees.
Tsk!
Isis released her spiritual form and appeared in the flesh. She spoke as if embarrassed.
"Wouldst thou go on a date with me?"
Her face was already faintly flushed. Those eyes that resembled a golden sun wandered, unable to find a place to rest.
The Goddess is so freaking cuteeeee!
I watched her, thoroughly pleased on the inside. Isis shook her head.
"Dost thou remember what I said last time? Thou hast not forgotten, I trust?"
"Uh, what was it again…?"
"Kh — thou darest forget? How couldst thou? I am disappointed, Lashu!"
Ha. I'd been pretending not to remember on purpose. I just couldn't help but love her.
"Hahaha. You said we should go see the temple together! As if I could forget. Hehe."
"Y-you…!"
Isis looked like she was about to get angry at me — then immediately pulled me into a fierce hug. Her enormous breasts slammed into my face and began squeezing so tightly I could barely breathe. Respiratory distress set in fast.
"Mmph, hngh!"
"Hmph. I thought even thy heart had gone to that insolent female lord. Be more careful from now on!"
"Cough — haah — y-yes!"
I was finally released. I'd thought I was going to die happy. Heh.
Isis glared at me and said,
"Follow me. My temple is not far."
"Hmm, unexpected. I thought you'd be hoping for a filthy date after so long."
"I promise. I shall not do such things this time. We are going to a place that was once my temple, after all."
"Then let's ride this guy!"
I summoned Rin. When Rin let out a great neigh, Isis chuckled. I mounted first, and Isis climbed on behind me as if embracing me, then stroked Rin's mane.
"A fine steed. I shall convey my thoughts, so go there."
"Hiiiiiiigh!"
Clip-clop, clip-clop! Crackling!
Rin took off at a joyful gallop. We left the territory, crossed a stone bridge over a river, and kept heading north.
Hmm. If we keep going this way, the Goblin Path should come up.
I tried to think about something else, anything else, to forget the overwhelming presence of Isis's breasts pressed against the back of my head.
Soon the Goblin Path appeared. The ground looked unstable, as if it had been bent into a U-shape — but that was an optical illusion. It was a place where an ancient magical phenomenon occurred. The land itself was not actually bent.
"We shall arrive shortly."
"I'm looking forward to it!"
"Looking forward… to it."
The Goddess seemed overly serious today. Should I take that as nerves?
Once we passed the Goblin Path, a highland unfolded before us, bursting with flowers, a snow-capped mountain visible in the near distance. In one corner of the plateau stood a watchtower that looked long neglected, and a thoroughly ruined temple. It looked like an abandoned ancient ruin.
"There."
"Ohh! It was built in a nice spot."
Beyond the temple, a large lake gleamed in the light. It seemed connected to the river we had crossed at the stone bridge. If I had been a fisherman, I would have been hunting for the absolute best fishing hole on the shore.
Isis pointed at the temple with a bitter expression.
"That is the place… but what is that tower?"
We soon drew to a halt and dismounted. I sent Rin back into the ring and took Isis's hand. Even now, her ears were bright red.
"According to the histories, a hundred and fifty years ago the nation sent people to manage that temple and built a watchtower."
"It appears abandoned now…"
"Yeah. There might even be monsters."
"Perhaps it could become a temporary dwelling for the two of us to share, no?"
Isis brushed her hip against me and gave me a smiling glance. She really could not go a single moment without being lewd.
This fox of a Goddesssss!
Holding her hand, I approached the temple. The place was in a terrible state. Far from retaining the shape of a temple, all that remained were shattered fragments scattered everywhere. I had been sensing a strange mana since earlier, true enough — but aside from that, I had to wonder whether this even qualified as a temple at all.
With a dark expression, Isis stepped forward.
"Behold. This… is the present state of one who was once called a god."
She mocked herself — without even knowing why humanity had betrayed her, having lost both her power and her memories. She simply stood there, staring blankly at the ruins. She looked so lonely. Like a goddess left alone in a world that had already fallen. I took both of her hands, stood in front of her, and denied it.
"That's not true."
"But thou canst see it too, canst thou not? No one remembers me, and it remains abandoned as it always was. I do not understand why I must be treated this way. I cannot remember… it is frustrating and painful."
"No matter what anyone says, Goddess, you are the one who chose me as your apostle, and I am grateful for that. You are endlessly elegant and passionate!"
I squeezed her hands tightly. No matter what anyone said, Isis was Isis. Regardless of the past. Regardless of the present. The temple didn't matter. Only she could exist inside me.
At my praise, Isis looked surprised — then she laughed, like a high-school girl who knew nothing of the world, all tsundere pride.
"Lashu, thou art truly incorrigible. Very well. Nothing in this world is eternal. Perhaps even this appearance is a natural thing."
"Someday, when I make a looot of money, I'll rebuild this place!"
I said it with conviction. I had just gained a new goal.
The Goddess was startled and shook her head.
"There is no need for that! Dost thou know who I am, to offer such charity…!"
"Whether you remember or not doesn't matter. And it's not charity either. What matters is the fact that you, Goddess, once existed in this world. I will rebuild this place and let people know about you."
"…It is a meaningless act."
A people who forget their history have no future. I had felt that in my bones, living in that so-called great nation called the Republic of Korea. Brothers who waged war without a declaration and engineered a division. People who still called those brothers one blood — who insisted we should naturally take them in if they defected from the North. A country that merely stood by while traitors to the nation still occupied key government posts and the upper crust of society. I was sick of that kind of country.
"Ah… ahh… my Lashu♥"
The Goddess stroked my hair, her body trembling little by little, until she finally shed tears.
"G-Goddess?!"
"Ugh… hic."
Thump!
Isis ended up hugging me. She was trying to get the words out even as she sobbed.
"I thank thee. But do not misunderstand! Sniffle. This is merely dust that hath entered mine eye!"
"Yes, yes. Here's a handkerchief! Wipe it quickly. Though even your tears are sexy, Goddess. Haha."
"Hmph, speaking such filthy words! Just like the way thou movest thy hips♥ I thank thee."
Favorability with Isis has increased!
Current favorability with Isis: Normal ♥♥♡ → Affection ♥♥♥
Whoa. The Goddess's favorability had shot way up. Fine by me!
We held each other like that and left the temple grounds, then looked around the collapsed ruins.
"Goddess, I don't have mana, but I can still sense it. A considerable amount of mana seems to gather in this place itself."
"Any place that worships a god is structured this way, without exception. In your terms, it is a phenomenon possible because the site possesses divinity. There is nothing strange about it."
"Huh, I see. Wait, Goddess. There's something by your eye…?"
I pointed at Isis's face. She tilted her head and touched around her eye.
"Hm? Where dost thou mean?"
"Here. Right here."
"Here? I cannot feel anything."
"Oh, come on. Just lean down a bit!"
"Hmph, thou fool of an apostle!"
Isis pouted but leaned her upper body down anyway. What a clumsy goddess. Time to give her a little courage.
The moment she leaned in, I rose up on my toes and kissed her.
Mwah.
Isis's eyes went wide. Then her face turned scarlet and she even averted her gaze. She was genuinely adorable. This was exactly the reaction I had been going for.
"Hahaha! Got you!"
"Hnn… what a brazen apostle thou art! How dare thee — I am supposed to do such things first!"
Thump!
Suddenly the Goddess grabbed my face and planted a deep kiss on me.
"Mmph — hngh!"
"Hnn, slurp♥ so good♥ heaah♥ slurp♥ haah♥"
We stroked each other's hair. Caressed each other's cheeks. Through our wide-open mouths our tongues met and became one, tangling together fiercely, as if they had been waiting for this. The Goddess's thick, hot tongue pressed down on mine. I provocatively scraped the underside of hers and wrapped around it in a single motion.
We craved love. We craved lust. And at last we pulled apart. I had to say something.
"Shall we… do it?"
Isis was about to say yes — then she looked around.
"No. Next time. I do not wish to do it here. It feels somehow desolate."
"I understand. Then let's head back!"
Just as the date was about to end, a thunderous roar suddenly rang out nearby.
KRAAAANG! Crrrack — splinterrr!
An old tree that had been standing peacefully split clean in half and shattered to pieces. Then a creature that looked like a dark mage, impaled through by thick purple tentacles, dragged itself into view.
A C-rank monster. A Warlock.
What the hell are you doing here?!
