Chapter Title: Cherry Met in Collab
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The Last server invite message sent by Kang Haneul.
It had been delivered to the vast majority of top-ranked Twitch streamers.
And one of those people was this male streamer known as Leder.
His real name was Park Sung-il.
In the game League of Legends, he was an ultra-high-rank amateur dominating the top tiers.
He was also a pitiful soul with military enlistment just around the corner.
“Ah, guys. Before we end the stream today, I've got one announcement.”
“Nah, it'll be quick, so don't get your hopes up. Anyway, Haneul Bom hit me up for a collab today. She wants to play this game called Last together.”
As Sung-il explained in his signature laid-back drawl, the chat flooded with question marks.
Most people in here probably hadn't even heard of a game called Last.
“Yes, as I've said a million times, no bashing other streamers. Attacks on me are fine, but anyone dissing other streamers gets banned on sight.”
He had a dedicated chat mod, but Sung-il handled bans himself if something caught his eye.
And so, he casually perma-banned the hater who'd stood out and rested his chin on his hand.
The chat was basically a toxic fanbase that went wild over Leder's every little move.
So the viewers lost it over what was really nothing special.
A donation popped up right then.
The Jae-jun in question was Leder's real-life friend—though he called him a frenemy—and fellow streamer known as Bandit.
Unlike Sung-il, who stayed chill and only got hyped around close friends, Jae-jun was the total opposite.
Sung-il always called him a beast because of it.
So anyone referred to as 'beast' or 'that guy' in his chat was basically Jae-jun.
The dude even looked pretty rough around the edges, making the nickname fit perfectly.
His username Bandit had been suggested because of that side of him.
“Yeah, he's not a streamer—he's a beast, so he doesn't count. Thanks for the donation.”
The usual roast session on Jae-jun played out in chat.
After a brief pause, Sung-il spoke up again.
“Anyway, it's been a while, so I'm down for the collab. Luckily, most of them are familiar faces. Just not sure about these Blue LUV folks—kinda worried I don't know them.”
“You guys know who they are? I really have no clue.”
Sung-il was weak on subculture stuff in general.
Especially niche VTubers.
So when his viewers reacted like they knew these names he'd never heard of, he looked genuinely surprised.
Everyone greeted Bandit's sudden appearance warmly.
Everyone except one.
“...That guy's back. Hey, you know who these Blue LUV people are?”
“Forget it. Never mind.”
Usually, this topic would flood Sung-il's chat with 'what's that weeb shit' spam.
But today, weirdly, there was none of that.
Instead, chats respecting this Lulu character poured in, piquing Sung-il's interest as he nodded along.
“She must be super popular. Does she have a Mityube channel? Wanna check her out.”
“What VTuber path? I'm just curious who she is.”
Sung-il was dead certain he'd never get into VTubers.
He was the type miles away from anime or any subculture stuff.
He just wanted to do some homework on the one group he didn't know, since they were the only total strangers in the collab, to avoid awkward intros.
“What's this? Says 'do not watch'.”
“Oh yeah? Must be funny then?”
With his streaming experience, he instantly clocked that this video was probably some dark history for this Lulu VTuber.
But he played dumb and clicked it anyway.
It was something that happened on one stream before the collab kicked off.
I woke up today with my heart pounding.
Even more nervous than the day I collabed solo with Chae-yoon unnie.
And for good reason—this was our first external collab.
Plus, the name value of everyone joining the Last server today was insane.
If I messed up mid-stream, what kind of backlash would hit?
That was my biggest worry.
“Unnie! Let's do our best today!”
“Yeah, let's.”
But I couldn't just stay frozen in tension.
Stream time hit, so Chae-yoon unnie and I shouted fighting! and split to our rooms.
Finally, a bit of relief.
“Hehe, Last together~. Last together~.”
I hummed a silly made-up tune with lyrics as I booted up my PC.
We'd done a quick practice run together beforehand, but this was the first time on stream.
I was hyped for what kind of fun content it'd be.
Once the computer loaded, I double-checked my setup, just in case.
Made sure the game launched fine too.
Yep, all good. No issues.
Time to hit that red button.
The familiar stream waiting screen popped up, and viewers started trickling in one by one.
“Hehe, hi everyone!”
I waved happily at the greeting viewers.
Then fired up Last right away and planned to chit-chat until more showed up.
Plenty of time before server entry anyway.
“As I mentioned before, today we're playing Last on the server the President made! You all hyped?”
A sketchy line mixed in with the good chats.
Lui Psychopath? What?
Ever since that collab with Chae-yoon unnie, some weird meme stuck to me.
“Jeez, Lui Psychopath? I told you that was just a concept for fun!”
Sigh, you guys are hopeless even if I explain a hundred times.
Sure, I was a tiny bit mad when unnie died then!
But no way I'd lose it and confuse game with reality.
It was all just acting to amp up the stream fun.
Mhm.
Totally.
“Watch me. I'm going full no-kill mode this Last run—no murdering anyone.”
Hey! Bad chat!
How dare you talk about killing my Blues!
I'll protect them for sure!
“Oh? It's up!”
Mids arguing with chat, the server with the President's title appeared, so I lit up and hit join.
(We don't use Discord or anything.)
Last servers have in-game voice chat when you're close enough.
The core fun is solo play with natural encounters in-game.
Leading to kills, loot steals, or surprise allies.
That's the real taste of Last, right?
Thud-
The grand entry sound hit as I loaded into the server.
Loading ended after a bit.
Flop-
The screen shifted with a sound like collapsing into grass.
I spawned in some seaside spot.
Map check: luckily not far from the main farming plains.
“Yeah, no one's in sight. Has everyone not joined yet...?”
I checked server population just in case.
Nope.
All in.
Just bad luck not running into anyone, so I hurried off.
House first.
Weapon priority for solo survival, but if members come here, base comes first.
Clang- Clang-
Mining nearby ore.
Gathering wood on the side, filling my inventory fast.
“Huh? Someone's here?”
“For real? Hey! Who gave you permission to farm here?!”
“Eh?”
A strange voice from somewhere froze me solid.
Heart sinking, I turned... and saw someone aiming at me from the hill.
With a buddy next to him.
Gasp.
Already ran into enemies?
Haven't even seen the Blues yet...!
“Um, hey... I got nothing... please let me live just this once...”
I had to beg pathetically to survive right now.
My bag was actually full of loot.
But losing it all would suck, so I played dirt poor.
“Hey now, don't lie. Or your arm's gonna fly o... Huh?”
But it was useless—the guy approached, arrow trained on me.
Then he spotted something weird and stopped dead.
What? What is it?
Gonna let me live?
“Gasp! Are you Lulu-nim?!"
“Yes? Oh, yeah... I-I'm Lulu, yes...”
Does he know me?
Closer now, I saw the name above his head.
MountainEnemy...?
What’s that mean?
Mountain... bandit? Enemy in the mountains?
Chat helpfully ID'd him.
Ah, Bandit-nim.
Got it, got it.
I only watch Blue LUV streams, but I know all the famous names.
That must be Leder-nim next to him.
We exchanged peaceful greetings on the surface.
But who knows when they'd turn on me, so I prepped my escape.
Asking my name could just be 'need it for your gravestone' vibes.
The two drew closer.
Arrows might be dodgeable, but up close with a rock? Nah.
Panic rising, I gulped involuntarily.
Thud-
“I'm a huge fan!!! Lulu-nim, please accept me along with these items!”
“Eh? Y-Yes...?!”
Suddenly Bandit-nim yelled at full volume, dropped to his knees in bow pose in front of me.
Then like a golden goblin, he dumped everything—bow, clothes, all his gear.
What... what’s happening?
Why’s he doing this?
Is this a prank cam?!
