One Month
"Yeah~ It's been an hour now. Time to wrap it up."
I ended the broadcast the moment I opened my mouth to prevent the disaster of viewers' feet getting tied up by donations.
Well, that was the plan.
But for some reason, I hesitated for a moment.
「Hey, are you ending the stream?」
「Haha, lol.」
「Hurry up and tie up those feet already!」
"...... I accidentally couldn't press the end button. Now it's for real."
I ended the stream right away.
The reason I hesitated even for a second before ending the stream was probably because today marked exactly one month since I had properly started broadcasting.
Yeah, that was the condition—stream for one month.
I glanced sideways.
The messages were still floating there.
Even after clearing the condition by ending today's broadcast, there was no noticeable change.
I shifted my gaze to the computer clock.
8:43 a.m.
It was a heavy feeling. After jogging with Hyojin-ssi, I had come home, showered, and immediately started streaming.
But because of that, I was now in a state of tense anticipation for whatever might happen afterward.
For nearly sixteen hours, no less.
I was like a kid waiting for a picnic.
"Haa..."
I let out a meaningless sigh.
Then I jumped onto the bed, thinking about how to kill time.
Sleep wouldn't come.
It was probably because I had gone to bed early for the jog with Hyojin-ssi.
Even though I had only run for a few dozen minutes, I hadn't woken up for long, so I wouldn't feel sleepy.
Elmil or Yo-ona wouldn't be awake at this hour.
Hyojin-ssi was probably starting her studies now, so I couldn't disturb her.
The neighbor woman must have already gone to work.
Honestly, I had always been like that around this time.
When I got a little bored, I would check out the fan art board or take a short walk.
But the weird thought that I might end the stream made me not want to do any of those things.
Ending the stream.
If I thought about it, even if that guy stopped giving missions, there was no real reason to end the stream.
Well, it was just my imagination assuming he wouldn't give any more.
...... Ah, I don't know.
Just lying there thinking, I seemed to be getting dragged into negative thoughts.
Should I go outside?
I changed into my clothes again.
And once I stepped out, I started wondering what I should do.
I didn't feel like going for a walk...
"Ha... It's been a month since I came here... Now that I'm looking for something to do, it's kind of strange."
Because I had been really busy.
Even though the streaming time was only one hour a day, I had been dealing with the Elmil incident, calling or texting Hyojin-ssi and Yo-ona frequently.
And recently, I had even started jogging.
Plus, whenever I got a little bored, I would prepare for the stream or go for a walk.
So there was no need to spend time finding ways to enjoy this world.
Because of that, I hadn't really enjoyed this world for long after coming here.
Of course, I had really enjoyed it to the point of overdoing it on stream.
Anyway, I started walking down a road I had never taken before.
Whether I found an interesting place here or not, I could kill time either way.
Since I had my phone and money with me, I didn't have to worry about getting lost.
To avoid being pounced on, I walked on the busiest road possible.
After living here for a while, I realized that the women in this world just keep monsters deep inside themselves.
Normally, they weren't crazy people who would harass men wildly.
The woman I had seen before was just an exception.
As I walked down the main road, unfamiliar scenery and shops began to appear.
"T-that... a man...?"
Walking through a place I had never seen before, I unexpectedly received a somewhat different reaction.
Recently, even during walks, instead of pure surprise at men, I got reactions mixed with desire.
Requests for my number, compliments on me.
Sometimes I even heard nonsense high school girls or aunties harassing me.
So that's why it reminded me of the first day I came here.
I greeted the women with a wave, feeling the emotions of a long time.
They froze in place and stared straight at me until I disappeared from their sight.
So I began responding to everyone staring at me.
From those who just blushed to those who gathered courage and approached me, I saw countless reactions.
The most fun one was when I dropped the item I was holding and someone picked it up for me.
She seemed to be buying a book and was returning, with an extremely red face, repeating "Thank you" like a broken robot.
Even in that situation, some of them hugged the books tightly as if they didn't want to be caught, which was strangely amusing.
And the person who accepted my greeting normally.
Suddenly something happened, she turned around, took out her glasses, and put them on.
After that, I just left her with her eyes spinning.
The last one was a person who stared at me fixedly while crossing the road and then collapsed.
I looked at her worriedly, wondering if she was okay, but she didn't move for a while...
Is that person okay?
I immediately ran over to the girl lying on the crosswalk.
I didn't know if she was embarrassed or what, but lying on the crosswalk was really dangerous, right?
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Uuu..."
"My ankle... hurts..."
I touched her head at her strange reaction.
"It's hot..."
I finally started examining her outfit.
She was wearing a hoodie, but it seemed like she had layered her uniform over her regular clothes.
Was she a student who had come home early because she was sick at this time?
It seemed like she had a high fever and twisted her ankle, so she couldn't get up.
I picked her up first.
If I left her here, she would really get hit by a car or something.
"Eh...... dream...?"
She naturally placed her hand on my chest.
Hey, wait a minute.
"Student, what's your home address?"
"Home...... I don't know..."
She closed her eyes as if in pain.
When I picked her up, I realized her body temperature was higher than I thought.
Just touching her forehead felt slightly warm, but when I held her, a heat like she had entered a sauna was transmitted.
I couldn't leave her like this.
I didn't know her home, so hospital.
It seemed I had to take her to the hospital.
The sperm donation hospital was too far.
I had seen a hospital from afar on the walking path.
Since it wasn't the target hospital, I hadn't gone, but it was quite a large one.
Since this student seemed to have at least a 40-degree fever, she could be taken to the emergency room.
I started running while holding her.
I knew roughly where the hospital was, but since I hadn't been there, I got lost a few times.
In the process, I almost dropped her several times.
If only she had wrapped her arms around my neck, but she just closed her eyes like she was asleep and groaned.
I ran while holding her for several minutes.
If I hadn't started jogging recently, it would have been impossible.
By asking people, I finally arrived at the hospital.
"A-are you okay?"
The nurse looked at me, panting, and the girl I was holding with shock.
After checking her body temperature right away, it was 41 degrees—a fever that required running.
"If it's this much, why don't you call 119..."
"...... 119 is for cardiac arrest, right?"
The nurse looked at me with a dumbfounded expression, as if her words were stuck.
"No, that's not important right now... Are you the student's guardian?"
"No, she fainted on the crosswalk and I carried her here."
"Huh? Then the guardian is..."
The girl who had been listening to our conversation handed me her phone with her limp arms.
I immediately took the phone, and even though it was locked, I called the number on the lock screen and connected with her mother.
"Are you okay? Why aren't you coming!"
Fortunately, her mother was a normal person and immediately started worrying about her daughter.
I had been worried if she was a strange person, but it was fortunate.
After that, I handed the phone to the nurse, and the nurse and her mother talked for a moment before starting the admission procedures.
I stayed until her mother arrived, following her mother's request.
After that, she was hospitalized, received an IV, and her condition gradually stabilized.
"Are you okay now?"
"Yes, the fever is gradually coming down, so you'll be fine soon."
"Now, resting is the best. Please don't wake her."
I glanced at the doctor.
The doctor's appearance was completely different from the one at the hospital I had gone to before.
If the situation was serious, would the doctor at that hospital be this serious?
Or was it just that doctor who was strange?
While I was lost in thought, her mother soon arrived.
"Sohyun!"
"... Mom?"
"Sohyun? Are you okay?"
She called the student Sohyun and looked at her worriedly.
"You...! I told you it was okay even if Mom didn't come! 40 degrees is a fine temperature!"
She scolded Sohyun with a face that looked like she might cry.
"Uuu..."
"Hey, guardian... Please calm down a bit. The patient's stability comes first."
She went out with the doctor's guidance.
I also didn't have any reason to stay, so I followed her outside.
She talked to the doctor for a moment, then sat on a chair and sighed.
"Hey...... Then I'll go..."
"Ah, you're the person who saved our daughter."
She immediately stood up from her seat and bowed her head.
"Thank you... Thank you so much..."
She lifted her face.
Her expression looked like she was barely holding back tears.
"You said she had fainted on the crosswalk."
"If this child had been hit by a car..."
She couldn't continue.
"Is there anything I can do as a reward? Do you have any requests?"
"No, if I hadn't been there, I would have done the same thing."
I firmly refused, but she said I couldn't.
"If that's the case, there's a noodle shop in the city where I work. Whenever you're free, come by and I'll give you as much as you want for free."
"Haha, yes, I'll come by sometime."
I left the hospital while listening to her thanks, the shop name, and the request to visit again.
4 p.m.
Quite a bit of time had passed, but there was still a little left until tomorrow.
