Testing Is a Piece of Cake
“Hoo… hehehe.”
It was adorable. The content I had created was truly adorable.
Just looking at it filled me with a sense of love, cuteness, and satisfaction. So, I thought I’d run a quick test before showing it to anyone else.
First, I moved to the spawn point. I had to make sure the place where people would first arrive wasn’t too overwhelming.
“Hmm. It doesn’t look too flashy, right?”
Right in the center, the start of ‘Can’t I Make a Killing in the Dungeon?’ was the heart of the labyrinth city.
Minji and I had decided to go with an RP (Roleplay) server style. To boost immersion, we agreed that everyone should start with an RP persona as a resident of the labyrinth city.
I agreed with that idea, thinking it was for the best, which is why I’d implemented this system.
“Umm. Let’s see.”
I checked the crystal ball already resting in my hand. This was the most important object in the content, the very beginning of everything.
Honestly, I’d checked it a dozen times, but I couldn’t help but worry about what might happen once a lot of people started pouring in.
I wasn’t opening the server through my own capsule, but rather opening the server itself… still, I couldn’t help but feel anxious.
“I have to do it. Checking information.”
Whoosh. With the command, the crystal ball in my hand began to glow, and several stats floated above it.
[ Name : What is your name? ]
[ Age : What is your age? ]
[ Stats scanned. ]
[ Strength: 3 Agility: 2 Intelligence: 7 Magic: 3 Charm: 9 ]
[ Blessing: Developer - Acquire the Developer-Only Window. ]
“Good. The name and age fields that need to be set for RP are blank, which is normal, and the stats are exactly as they were last time.”
Building a system that reads information wasn’t easy at all. Even though the capsule contains the user’s physical data, there’s no built-in system to provide that information externally, so bypassing that to extract the user’s data was quite the task.
Since it was a form of hacking, I was worried there might be issues, but thanks to the help of NeoVerse, I was able to inquire with the capsule’s developer. Thankfully, they replied that it wouldn’t be a legal issue as long as the map participants consented.
If not, I might never have been able to develop this, or worse, I could have ended up behind bars eating prison food. That was something that absolutely could not happen.
“But, sigh… my physical stats are seriously pathetic.”
Looking at the strength and agility stats crawling on the floor, I couldn’t help but think it was a bit extreme. Considering the base stat value was 5… this was a truly weak body.
Still, it didn’t cause any problems for development, so I suppose that’s a relief.
“Hmm, magic power is definitely about talent, right?”
Among the stats, magic power was the hardest to raise. Charm, too… I don’t know why my charm is so high, but charm isn’t an easy stat to raise either, and magic was even harder.
Since the AI judges the magic and alchemy systems I created and assigns the values directly, I didn’t even know the proper rules yet.
It seemed to be based on imagination and knowledge to some extent, but I needed to research it further. It was definitely going to be a very helpful system in the future.
“And the blessing… sigh. I really don’t have any luck.”
Considering you start with at least one blessing, and up to three if you’re lucky, I could say I was unlucky since I always only got one.
I sometimes wondered if I’d used up all my luck to become a genius developer by making a wish to the moon.
From common blessings to individual blessings determined by the AI’s algorithm… the more I thought about it, the more worried I became.
Could the server handle it? I wondered if I should talk to Minji and find a better server.
I’d used all the funding I received from ID for server costs, but I couldn’t help but think it might still be a little short.
I wasn’t expecting a massive number of people, but at least 20 would be coming in. If I had to store and reflect the real-time data of those people, the server would be in pain.
“I’ll tell Minji about this later. Initial test complete. Time to head to the dungeon.”
Actually, other than checking the stats, I hadn’t really built much for the early game. It would be nice to make a tutorial, but I hadn’t finished decorating the entire interior yet, so I decided to make it a bit later.
I figured I could just add anything I found inconvenient or difficult to understand during my own playthrough into the tutorial.
I wanted to check it quickly and find the problems. Wait for me, my dungeon! I’ll make sure you’re doing just fine!
I walked forward, checking the street stalls spread out before me. They were empty for now, but I planned to allow streamers who enjoyed the content to open their own markets with NPCs later.
“Hehehe. This is going to be so much fun.”
I drew several pictures in my mind. Someone scamming others, someone stealing goods and running away, haggling to lower prices, or even shaking people down for ‘protection money.’
I figured these street stalls would be the place where the most situations would occur. The dungeon is the dungeon, but viewers would enjoy just watching streamers talk to each other. I was already looking forward to it.
With that anticipation, I reached out to the shimmering dungeon portal. Time to check the dungeon!
“Umm.”
As my vision shifted in an instant, I looked around to check for any issues.
There was no motion sickness while moving, and there were no texture glitches caused by bugs.
I wanted to test group movement too, but it was a shame there was no one else around.
“Hmm, I should try it. Maybe Minji?”
The other Another World members were looking forward to the content, so I couldn’t call them. It was a bit too early to show them….
“Sigh. I think there was operational support in the grant, I wonder if they provide people too.”
It would be convenient if I could get some help. Minji was helping with operations, but since her main goal was playing, I had to manage everything alone.
It wasn’t easy for me to do it all by myself, so I thought it would be best to find someone.
I’d think about operations later; for now, I’d look around the dungeon.
Since you drop into a random location unless you’re in a group, I checked where I was.
It was a space that really brought the feeling of a labyrinth to life.
Mysterious characters were carved into the labyrinth walls, which were made of slightly cracked stone bricks.
Even to my eyes, I thought I’d made it look quite mysterious.
Whoosh. The characters would occasionally glow, and the lights mounted at regular intervals along the walls kept the place from being too dark.
“Looks like this is point F.”
After looking around slowly, I could tell where I was.
I was glad I’d dropped into one of the safest starting locations in the dungeon.
Since the closer you are to A, the more dangerous it is from the start, this trip was lucky.
I wandered through the dungeon, holding the dagger provided at the start.
In the early stages, everything was well-placed, from mysterious herbs to ores that only appear in the dungeon and can’t be mined without tools.
There were no problems with herb gathering. You just had to reach out and pluck them, so no special skills were needed.
You could get higher-quality herbs if you picked them more carefully, but there was no need to check that right now.
“Alright, activate Developer-Only Window.”
I had to test the ores too, so I used my blessing. Along with the use of the blessing, I felt something opening deep within my body, and a window floated before my eyes.
Since my goal wasn’t playing, I’d locked the blessing. I searched for a pickaxe in the developer-only console window, where I could grant items or blessings, and summoned it.
“Alright, hup… hup!”
Clang! Clang! The sound echoed through the labyrinth as the ore was revealed. When about 70% of the ore was exposed, it popped and turned into an item, dropping to the ground.
“Okay. No problems with the ore either.”
I was satisfied knowing the ore dropped correctly.
Since there were no bugs causing the wrong ores to drop, I didn’t seem to need to worry about that either.
I figured I was just about finished with the dungeon check.
I went deeper into the dungeon.
Squish… squelch… I heard the sound and swallowed hard. Honestly, this was my first time encountering something inside the labyrinth.
“A slime….”
I stared at the slime crawling toward me with a squelching sound, gripping my dagger tightly.
It looked incredibly squishy. It had a blue hue and didn’t look particularly dangerous.
It was the perfect early-game monster, the weakest and most pathetic one to build your skills on, so I charged right at it.
“Alright! Let’s catch it!”
Dash! I charged with my dagger. I’d seen it so many times while creating it, I could take it down no problem!
“Hmm, hmmm~”
I shook the moisture from my hair and stared at my phone.
After yesterday’s broadcast, I’d received messages from several streamers.
From small-time creators to big corporations, so many people had reached out, but I couldn’t accept everyone.
Even after investigating and cutting people out, and deciding who to accept, I still had to narrow it down further, so the work never ended.
“Ugh, it’s a problem when things go too well.”
It would be nice if Ha-yun could help, but she looked busy with development, and I didn’t think she’d be good at anything other than development.
Wait, no.
“If I told her this was a type of development, would she be good at it?”
I decided to test that later and checked a message from an unexpected person.
They’d been messaging me a lot lately, but there was no reason for them to send one at this hour.
“What did this one send? I told them I couldn’t help with development… huh? Help?”
I was flustered by Ha-yun’s message asking for help and read the content.
She wanted me to log into virtual reality right now to help her; I had no idea what she needed help with.
Still, she asked for help, and I couldn’t just ignore it. I was the one who told her to make it this big, so even if I couldn’t help with development, I had to help with things like this.
“Where to.”
I dried my hair lightly, went to my capsule, and logged into virtual reality.
Using the code I’d received in advance, I moved to the map where Ha-yun was and looked around.
It was a bit of a spoiler, but I figured this much was fine.
Ding! I clicked ‘Accept’ on the ‘Would you like to move?’ message window that popped up right in front of my eyes.
“Yeah, yeah. Ha-yun, what do you need help… do you have a hobby like this?”
“Ugh! It’s not like that! Hurry up and help meee!”

I chuckled at the sight of her sprawled on the floor after being defeated by a slime and turned on camera mode.
Click-! I snapped a picture of the scene.
“I’ll use this for promotion.”
“W…what?! You can’t do that!”
“You won’t give me permission? Then I won’t save you.”
“No! Who blackmails people like that? Ugh… fine, I get it, help me!”
Since I had her permission, I grabbed the slime and pulled it off to save Ha-yun. She was such a high-maintenance friend.
Still, seeing her like this, I knew she hadn’t changed much from before.
Yeah. This is Ha-yun. Even if her appearance changed, her inner self was the same. In that case, it felt fine to treat her the way I always had.
I could tease her as much as I wanted. I’d been a little worried, but there was no need for that.
