Dungeon Ability... I Want to Control It
The preview broadcast for the new dungeon, Starlight Lake Park, had wrapped up to roaring success.
Sudden event... broadcast... fruit juice...
Beautiful lake... orchard... performance hall... restaurants and cafes... that filthy water show...
Everything sounds great on paper... all good stuff...
But if you're gonna do an event like this, you should've done it one day before opening! How am I supposed to wait after seeing this, you fucking Dungeon Hwang-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What the hell am I supposed to do starting tomorrow...!!
Even writing this post, that park night view won't leave my head...!!!!!
You made a mistake, Dungeon Hwang... You've cursed us with the knowledge of what we're missing.
If you have any conscience, at least tell us how many days till opening... I'm seriously gonna die waiting...!!!!
Opening day, huh...
I'd originally planned to open as soon as the buildings were done, but I've changed my mind.
"Hmm... Yeah, better to open the shops at the same time..."
Finishing the lakeside buildings would take a few more days anyway, so might as well invest a bit more time to get the shops open and recruit artists for the performance hall.
Opening in perfect condition would be best.
"Especially since it's the first park worth commemorating."
For now, let's check what I need to do before opening.
Hmm... Nothing much for the park right now...
Probably just keep supplying tickets steadily to the dungeon labor office that Joodak helped set up.
Once that's running smoothly, construction will speed up way beyond what the three dwarf brothers could do alone.
Might even make the dwarf trio foremen and develop three dungeons at once.
"Plenty to build, after all..."
Need to try making a sea or valley too...
And the hot springs with Yeomje.
"Oh, gotta set up a park management office too..."
Need people to handle admin for artist recruitment and shop leasing.
Link it with the labor office for guards and cleaners too.
Joodak would handle it perfectly, just like with the salt field office... Thanks as always, GOAT...
"Leave the complicated admin to them..."
Then that's pretty much everything.
But one really important thing's still left.
I'm watching Kkomangi take a shit right in front of me.
"Hek hek...!"
Squelch-
It squeezed out a jelly turd smaller than my fist, but it rapidly expanded, wrapped in light. When the light faded, there was a mountain of Dungeon Tickets.
"...Gotta figure out what to do with this first..."
As the dungeons grow, ticket production keeps rising, but at this rate, my one-room will explode from one dump filling it with tickets.
My Living Dungeon Master ability was just ballooning in scale stupidly.
But growth should mean more than just getting bigger—it should develop in application too.
Something's off with the current direction.
Like I don't know how to use my body, but it's just getting fatter...?
This thought hit me back when making the salt field. I'd seen Yeomje freely wielding his transmigrator ability.
He controlled every aspect of his power, blending it with this world's magic in his own way.
Me? I just tweak monster counts or ticket numbers via the dungeon status window. Mindlessly pumping up visible stats.
Is that really using the ability?
All I've done is pick up the byproduct tickets Kkomangi shits out and supply the shelter.
I stowed the ticket mountain in the dungeon inventory and picked up Kkomangi.
"Hek hek..."
"Kkomangi... If I ask, will you do it again this time?"
Squish squish-
I kneaded him roughly, but no answer as expected. He just panted.
Even if Kkomangi used the dungeon power as I intended, would that count as me using it...?
Unlike normal transmigrators, my power's split to an external terminal, but even accounting for that, it doesn't feel like I'm handling it myself.
"Hmm..."
As dungeons scale up, I'll need to apply the ability more flexibly.
First, customize tickets at will.
Right now, I can only set the destination dungeon, but if I control it like Yeomje, maybe add features to tickets?
"Like... free exit?"
I don't extend ticket duration because once inside, you're stuck till it expires. I can bail via Kkomangi, but others can't.
Free exit would solve that, letting me crank durations way up.
Want at least 8 hours.
"Especially with shopkeepers coming..."
They'd operate 8 hours min...
No matter how many tickets, handing four per person is nuts.
"Dungeon ability... I want to control it."
Luckily, I had consultants for this.
Two came to mind: Joodak and Yeomje.
Joodak's great, but for transmigrator issues, fellow transmigrator Yeomje's better.
"Anyway... getting late, time for bed."
Zzz-
*
A few days passed like that, and the gallery was still buzzing with park hype.
"Hmm... Peaceful as ever today."
No big bait posts.
I skimmed the gallery and tore a park ticket to head over.
Appointment with Yeomje a few days back.
Light swirled, and I arrived at the park—Yeomje was already waiting.
"Yeomje, long time no see."
"Dungeon Master, hope you've been well? Watched the park broadcast. Seeing it in person, it's even better than on screen."
"Glad you like it. Thanks in advance today."
I bowed slightly.
Yeomje waved it off with a chuckle.
"Haha... No need between us. Anyway, controlling your transmigrator ability... Your constitution's rare indeed. Power split externally... Feels familiar somehow..."
I'd explained my situation beforehand.
"Joodak said it's a rare transmigrator trait. Tough, huh?"
"Hmm... Can't promise, but I can offer some guidance on controlling transmigrator powers."
"Oh..."
Good, there was a way.
"From what you described, your ability splits into setting dungeon environments and making entry tickets... Right?"
"Yeah... Sadly, no tickets without that split..."
"There's a reason for the split. Your power's too oversized for the vessel—overflowing outside."
...Spot-on like Joodak's explanation. Guessing that accurately from a hunch... High-rank mages are no joke.
"So how do I fix it, Yeomje? Controlling tickets would smooth dungeon dev..."
Like multi-person tickets or season passes—total freedom from ticket counts.
"Hmm... Solution's simple, yet tricky. If the vessel's too small and overflowing... Enlarge the vessel!"
"You mean...?"
"Dungeon Master, you must expand your own vessel. I'll teach you how now!"
