King Slime Butter Cake: From Dread to Delight
With the King Slime Butter Cake recipe displayed, I started prepping to make the butter cake.
1. Beat 1 egg, then add milk (200ml), melted butter (30g), and 1 tsp vanilla extract. (Adjustable)
2. Sift salt, tapioca starch (20g), and glutinous rice flour (170g) into the egg mixture and stir. (Adjustable)
3. Add 1 low-grade mana stone (approx. 200g) and blend with king slime jelly in a mixer, then mix thoroughly again.
4. Strain the batter through a sieve, then pipe it into the molds using a piping bag.
5. Bake the filled molds in an oven or air fryer for 30 minutes.
What the hell is this? Why's something so simple blowing up like this, and why's the System jumping on the bandwagon? Sure, riding the trend and scoring points was a win, but it left me with this weird vibe.
"Eh, whatever."
I shook my head to shake off the odd feeling and grabbed a couple of the eggs I'd just bought. The recipe called for one, but it said adjustable. Plus, I planned to use both chunks of king slime jelly, so I needed to tweak the measurements.
Gulp.
"Phew..."
Why was my heart pounding like this over something so basic? I'd only ever done solo microwave meals—never baked dessert before.
"No way. I cleared the tower. I can handle this."
Still, it had to be done. I took a deep Lamaze-style breath, grabbed the mixing bowl, and steadied myself.
Thud. Thud. Crack.
I cracked the eggs against the edge of the bowl and let the contents slide in. Then, with the frother I'd bought today, I whisked them up. The whites and yolks blended into a pale yellow liquid. Looking good so far.
"Now, milk and melted butter..."
I poured in 400ml of milk right into the egg mix. To avoid cooking the eggs, I'd microwaved and cooled the melted butter beforehand, so I added that too. Considering the batch size, I bumped everything up to just under double.
"Hmm... not bad?"
Smooth sailing so far. Measurements were iffy, but I had to trust my gut.
"And vanilla extract."
I added a full tablespoon and stirred again. If anyone asks why not all at once—yeah, I forgot. Anyway, into the finished egg mix went the tapioca starch and glutinous rice flour, sifted through a strainer like a pro.
"Good, good, butter cake's gonna be good."
Whisking with the frother, the egg liquid merged with the powders into a thin, liquidy batter—not stiff or solid at all.
"Huh... kinda fun."
I eyed the finished batter. No red flags. Hell, maybe I had a knack for this. Anyone could do this part, sure, but it still felt great.
"Next... mana stone and king slime jelly in the blender."
Humming cheerfully, I loaded the blender with a mana stone and the jelly.
"Please... I splurged on a good blender. Don't break on me...!"
A bit nervous, yeah—blending a rock and mystery goo wasn't standard. Heart racing, I hit the button.
Vrrr—! Griiind—!
"Come on...!"
Unsettling noises from inside had my pulse spiking. Praying it wouldn't crap out, I kept it going. Grind grind grind. The blender laughed off my fears, pulverizing the stone and jelly perfectly.
"Ooh—top-tier indeed...!"
Flawless powder. Gallery reviews didn't lie—this thing was a beast.
"Phew... so now mix this into the batter, right?"
The pulverized stone-and-jelly sludge. Rough visuals, dredging up pasta PTSD.
"Phew... nah, could taste good this time."
Hesitant from the trauma, but remembering the decent smoothie despite the smell, I decided to trust the butter cake once. I dragged the mixing bowl over and dumped in the blue mush.
The innocent batter turned blue in seconds. Appetite-killer aesthetic.
"Ugh..."
Suppressing PTSD, I stirred slowly. Silver lining: it faded as it blended. Still unappetizing, but better than raw ingredients.
"N-now into the piping bag..."
The rest flew by. Piped batter into butter-greased molds, air-fried in two batches due to volume. No issues.
And the finished product.
"Ooh... blue butter cake! Shit!"
Blue blobs mimicking butter cake shape, jelly chunks like muffin toppings. Visuals so cursed they triggered swears on sight.
"...F-first, proof shot."
I arranged the under-evolved cakes, plopped the king slime crown beside for flair, and snapped pics—for the gallery, obvs.
"Phew, now... t-tasting..."
Pics done, dreaded moment arrived: (happy?) tasting time.
Gulp.
Calming nerves, I reached for a piece. Picked one up at snail speed, brought to lips.
Squish.
"Guhk...!"
Jelly squish on lips—pure chills.
'This ain't butter cake, it's +5 mana. Eat for the stats...!'
Focusing on the prize, I breathed deep and shoved it in.
Squish squish.
One bite, jelly texture hit hard. Unfamiliar sensation nearly unleashed curses, but I held it together. Chewed slowly, fully committing.
If I could just swallow, dopamine from gallery or quest would reward me. With grim resolve...
"Huh, why's it mai-chi...? (Why's it delicious...?)"
Way better than expected. Ground mana stone wasn't even that crunchy. Jelly texture was off—way off—but not revolting. Subtle butter aroma and sweet harmony tamed the texture.
"Mmm... texture aside, it's edible."
A few more down...
King Slime Butter Cake ingested.
Your mana has increased.
Mana stat +5 (permanent).
"Effect's legit AF."
About one jelly's worth did the trick. Solid confirmation. But a tad disappointing.
"Sigh... gotta eat a full jelly portion for the stat-up, huh?"
One cake per stat would've been OP. Still, gains are gains—time to savor.
I reached for more.
Mana stat +5 (permanent).
The rest filled me with satisfaction and stats.
"Ugh, so full."
Pre-transformation me wouldn't bulge from a few desserts, but shrunken body meant shrunken stomach—belly was stuffed.
Pat pat. Admiring the stat messages...
Congratulations! Quest completed.

"Ah..."
Quest-clear popup hit, and dopamine-drenched voice slipped out. Total 10 points—huge for current me, especially after the grind.
"Stick to the plan."
Calming the hype to avoid dumb spends, I pulled up my status window.
