I Became a Bedroom Constellation
Decades ago, after the Great Cataclysm, a mystical energy called mana spread across the world. And then came the Awakeners. Awakeners were humans who instinctively gained the power to wield mana. They handled transcendent strength without any effort, simply because they'd awakened.
I'd always envied them while scrolling galleries, but it looked like I wouldn't have to anymore.
Because I'd awakened too.
Unique Class: Bedroom Constellation acquired. Check your status window for details.
"What the hell kinda name is that...?"
My ability was the Unique Class: Bedroom Constellation. It seemed I'd gained the class as my power.
"Hmm..."
A whirlwind of unfamiliar information flooded my mind. When you awaken, you instinctively learn how to use your awakening power. That's what was happening to me. After a moment, the unpleasant buzzing in my head faded.
I opened my status window to see what had changed.
"Status window!"
Authority Management | Skill Management | Apostle Management | Inventory
Hmm. A whole bunch of new stuff got added. It used to just show my name and basic stats.
The status window objectively displayed my condition. Even non-awakeners could open it as long as they could sense mana. And since everyone in Korea got basic mana lessons in middle school, pretty much anyone who wasn't a total retard could use it.
But for regular folks, it was just a plain readout of their real-life status. For a shut-in NEET like me, it might as well have been blank.
Now that I'd awakened, though, I needed to get used to it. Awakener powers manifested through the status window. What was just a quirky screen to normals was a precious treasure to us.
Let's see here. I checked the Bedroom Constellation's abilities right through the status window.
Starting with the Authority tab?
• Diorama
• Absolute Power
• Sponsorship
• Gacha
Hmm, just these four abilities? I decided to check what each one did. Explanations naturally popped into my head.
Authorities are unique powers exclusive to the Bedroom Constellation. All authorities can only be used within the sanctuary.
Sanctuary? As soon as I wondered what that meant, the answer surfaced in my mind. This studio apartment I lived in had become my sanctuary.
So I couldn't use authorities outside my room? What kind of bullshit power was this?
"Fuck, who designs a power like this?"
Everyone else was spitting fire from their mouths, shooting lasers from their eyes, tossing buildings one-handed. Why was mine such garbage? This felt unfair as hell.
Griping, I checked each authority's effects one by one. It was called a constellation, after all—surely there was something useful.
Diorama — Summons a diorama model of a 1km radius around the sanctuary. The summoned diorama syncs with reality.
Oh. That actually seemed kinda useful. A skill for sightseeing the outside world from my room.
I activated it right away. The usage was already ingrained in my head.
Vrrrrm!
A miniature landscape of my studio apartment neighborhood appeared before me like a tiny model garden. Seeing the streets fill a space the size of my fist was pretty trippy.
But it was too small to really watch, so I zoomed in a bit.
"Whoa, this is wild."
The model garden expanded, filling my entire room. Buildings and roads sprawled under my feet. Tiny things zipped along between them—cars and people.
"Fucking amazing."
I tried stomping on one of the buildings. My foot passed right through it to the floor. No direct interference, then.
Direct interference in the diorama is possible using SP.
"Oh."
So I could interfere with SP. But it cost a ton—just smashing that building like before would've taken hundreds of thousands of points. I only had 1000 SP right now.
"Heh heh heh."
I couldn't interfere directly, but it was still cool. I shrank the scale down to about 1:1. Suddenly, it felt like I was out walking around.
Not a bad fit for a Bedroom Constellation.
With this, I had no reason to ever leave. I could sightsee lying in bed. The 1km radius was a bit limiting, but...
The diorama's range can be expanded using SP.
I could expand it by farming SP, so no big deal. Someday I might observe the whole damn planet from my room.
Swoosh, swoosh. I navigated the diorama like a 3D Street View, strolling while lying in bed. Pretty fun.
Oh, hot chick spotted.
Then I spotted a pretty girl on the street. Looked like a student from Myeongcheon University nearby. Which I also attended, by the way.
"Hmm."
I sidled up to her. She didn't notice me hovering in front of her, chattering away with her friend as they walked. The friend was kinda ugly.
I cranked up the volume to eavesdrop. Sound was free.
"There's a new Starbucks over there—wanna check it out?"
"Sure, why not?"
Boring chit-chat. I ignored it and shoved my head under her skirt. White panties. Cameltoe crystal clear.
"Oh."
This skill was way better than I'd thought.
I shifted to the motels around campus street. Early evening, no action yet. No free porn show tonight.
Alright, next up.
I closed the diorama. The room returned to normal. On to the next authority.
Diorama was cool, but I needed something to make money too.
Absolute Power — Grants god-like power.
God-like power, huh? Didn't feel different. I tensed my whole body. Nothing special.
Maybe a bit more energetic than usual. My body felt lighter—I wasn't as beat as normal.
"Hmm."
I pondered, then swung a full-power punch.
KABOOM!!!!
"Gahhh!"
A flash and deafening roar erupted from my fist, exploding everything around me.
"Wha, what the fuck...?"
Vrrrrm... The space warped and shuddered. My body was fine, thankfully, but the room? Not so much.
Actually, the room itself was intact. The contents were all obliterated...
"My, my computer!!"
Desktop, laptop, tablet, wireless earbuds—everything that fueled my otaku life, gone. Desk, bed, all vaporized.
I collapsed to the floor, wailing. Could I just get one minute back? I'd be good from now on, I swear...
Vrrrrm.
I wished to rewind time. It felt possible. And amazingly, the space distorted, reverting to before the destruction.
"Oh...?"
Flash.
My room was back to normal in an instant. I looked around like a president who'd just woken from a nap. Was it a dream?
Swipe. I grabbed the half-eaten coffee can I'd left on the desk and crushed it in my hand. Then rewound time again.
"Ooooh!"
Like shape-memory alloy, the dented can restored itself. I really could rewind time. True god-like power.
Wait, could I go back ten years? Buy Bitcoin and get filthy rich...?
Nope, impossible. Bedroom Constellation authorities only worked in the sanctuary—my room. I could rewind inside, but not affect the outside.
That destructive force? Useless outside too. And attacks from inside couldn't harm the outside. A nuke-level boom had rung out, yet the world outside was dead quiet.
What a pointless power.
Impressive name, but unless I was doing stunt shows at home, it was worthless. Still, infinite stamina for jerking off? Better than nothing by a hundredfold.
Next one.
I checked the next authority.
Sponsorship — Gift items or powers to other beings. SP is consumed based on the gift. Recipients become apostles, generating SP through their activities.
Now this felt like a real constellation power.
