A Feint to Buy Time—Perhaps He Has Already Passed Away
A Feint to Buy Time—Perhaps He Has Already Passed Away
This sudden turn of events plunged the various orthodoxies and factions into shock and terror.
Everyone discovered that the natural laws of this world were changing.
Streak after streak of crimson light shot up from the Eight Wastelands of this world, piercing through the heavens and connecting to the leaden clouds everywhere, thick and rolling like a tide of clouds.
It was as if some terrifying power was seeping into the world, leaving many people unable to move.
Even the True Daoists were caught in its grip, their expressions changing drastically as they felt the vast, ocean-like magic power within their bodies actually grow sluggish, no longer circulating as freely as before.
“Not good—Neraka set up an ancient formation long ago. They were waiting for us to step into this world, planning to activate it after sacrificing enough living beings.”
“When that happens, everyone will probably die here, buried alongside Neraka.”
Witnessing this scene, some of the older generation figures with deep attainments in the Dao of formations changed countenance.
They quickly recognized what the crimson divine radiance lighting up across heaven and earth was.
It was a type of Sacrificial Scripture from ancient times, containing unfathomable and eerie power, possessing the mighty force to remake heaven and earth.
With so many Sacrificial Scriptures igniting at once, the entire world would likely merge with them—the consequences were unimaginable.
Gu Changge was also observing all of this. Compared to everyone else’s worry, at this moment he actually wanted to meet that Lord of Hell.
Judging from the Palm of True World controlled by the Third Palace Lord, that Lord of Hell clearly had an earth-shattering origin, and the time he had existed was absolutely beyond imagination.
If the world’s laws permitted it, his cultivation had definitely surpassed that of a True Daoist, perhaps even reaching the Celestial Realm.
“If the Lord of Hell truly is an ancient godly spirit that has survived to this day, then his Source would be of tremendous use to me—perhaps even enough to let me break through to the late stage of the Nirvana Dao Realm.”
Gu Changge’s gaze grew somewhat intrigued as he looked toward the depths of Neraka, intending to wait for the Lord of Hell to appear.
He knew that with things having developed to this point, there was no retreat left.
The only option was to bury and annihilate all the invading armies, leaving every faction and orthodoxy with devastating losses, bleeding heavily.
So in the end, the Lord of Hell would surely be unable to hold back—he would either have to find a way to escape...
“Could this be Neraka’s true scheme all along?”
Many True Daoists’ expressions shifted, alternating between pale and ashen.
Their vision was deep; they could naturally perceive the terrifying consequences of this move.
When the time came, it wouldn’t just be the armies behind them—even they themselves would likely perish here, their blood soaking the earth.
And just then, from within the palace deep in Neraka, a dreadful bell toll resounded and swept outward.
A bronze long bell emerged, its peal drifting across millions of miles.
The entire world instantly filled with killing intent. Then Sword Qi crisscrossed the sky—billions upon billions of sword lights blanketed the heavens, slashing toward this direction.
The Cult of Immortality known as Purple Cloud Valley bore the brunt of it.
Several war vessels hovering high in the sky instantly turned to dust. All the experts aboard didn’t even have time to scream before they exploded into a sky-filling mist of blood.
Sword Qi swept across, destroying everything in its path, multicolored radiance cascading down from the sky.
Even across an endless distance, it made people’s skin crawl and their soul-light flicker, as if they were about to be annihilated right there.
The True Daoist of Purple Cloud Valley’s expression changed abruptly. Just as she was about to act to stop it, she felt a terrifying divine sense suddenly lock onto her.
The surrounding laws and order seemed to transform into divine chains weaving toward her, forming an invisible giant net that sealed her in from all directions.
“Still thinking of making a move? Courting death!”
A True Daoist of Neraka had his eyes on her. His figure flashed, instantly crossing countless distances to appear before the True Daoist of Purple Cloud Valley.
The two swiftly clashed, fierce and astonishing. With each raised palm, vast laws surged, enough to crush any living being into pulp, destroying both body and soul.
But at this moment, a hazy blood-colored light enveloped the world.
The Palace Lord controlled the True World, his divine will cold and indifferent, beginning to focus on dealing with everyone.
Streak after streak of terrifying sword radiance descended from beyond the heavens, directly blasting swathes of Cultivators into ash.
From afar, a world-shaking blade light cleaved over—another True Daoist of Neraka had joined the battle.
It was like an entire sky crashing down, sweeping across everything.
For countless tens of thousands of years, no one had ever barged into the deepest reaches of Neraka like this, forcing Neraka to such a state.
And today, everyone witnessed Neraka’s terror.
That revived bronze long bell was a Remnant Immortal Artifact, with an invincible divine spirit slumbering within. Its world-topping aura permeated the air—its pressure alone was enough to shatter everything.
Scene after scene of slaughter played out everywhere. Though Neraka’s glory days were gone, it was still world-shaking.
Every place was filled with killing intent. Whoever invaded would pay a price in blood.
Moreover, most importantly, that Lord of Hell had yet to appear.
He had merely taken out the Palm of True World, letting the Third Palace Lord control it, thereby controlling and merging with this world to bury them all.
At this point, even True Daoists could forget about escaping this world.
The Palm of True World was the Divine Empire of a genuine ancient godly spirit.
Once one entered this world, it meant their life and death would be firmly controlled by that godly spirit—no one could avoid it.
Bear in mind, the Palm of True World hadn’t even fully merged with this world yet, and the True Daoists of the various factions were already feeling strained, unable to recover their former peak.
This final great battle was unavoidable.
With the augmentation of this world’s power, everyone in Neraka fought with bloodshot eyes, throwing themselves recklessly at all the invading enemies.
Soon, Gu Changge noticed that the Third Palace Lord, who had been continuously channeling the Palm of True World, suddenly vanished.
“Where did he go?”
He was somewhat surprised. He stepped forward, the void around him blurring, and instantly followed after.
This world’s laws were not yet strong enough to affect him.
Even if the Lord of Hell personally controlled the Divine Empire, the result would be the same.
On the contrary, Gu Changge even had means to influence the surrounding environment of heaven and earth—so much so that even True Daoists couldn’t detect his trail.
In the deepest part of Neraka, the withered colors were heart-palpitating.
Dark mist drifted slowly between heaven and earth. Deathly silence and cold were the eternal themes.
There wasn’t even the slightest sound here, like an eternally dead land.
The Third Palace Lord passed through numerous Prohibition Arrays all the way to arrive here, now kneeling before a palace hall.
His face was somewhat pale. Controlling the Palm of True World was still too taxing for him.
It required enormous expenditure of divine will and magic power.
Though he hadn’t quite reached the point of a lamp running out of oil, he clearly couldn’t hold on much longer.
“How is it going?”
Inside the palace hall, there was actually another person—a rather handsome young man.
Dressed in black, with a purple vertical eye tightly shut at the center of his brow.
He looked at the arriving Third Palace Lord and couldn’t help but ask, his tone rather urgent.
If the rest of Neraka’s people were here, they would discover that this person was none other than the First Palace Lord, who had vanished since the very beginning of the great war.
In other words, the one known to all of Neraka’s upper echelons as the Lord of Hell’s only disciple.
However, the Third Palace Lord knew a bit more. He knew that the person before him was not merely the Lord of Hell’s disciple—he was the Lord of Hell’s own son.
Many times when he came here to pay respects to the Lord of Hell, it was actually this black-clad young man who received him.
Even the Palm of True World in his hands had been given to him by the black-clad young man.
This made the Third Palace Lord secretly worried, fearing that something unforeseen had happened to the Lord of Hell—that perhaps he had already passed away in meditation.
“We’ve bought quite a bit of time and intimidated many people.”
After a moment of silence, the Third Palace Lord gazed with complicated eyes toward the deepest part of the palace hall and slowly spoke.
PS: During this period, emotional matters have left me mentally exhausted, and I haven’t been in the right state. Starting tomorrow, I’ll devote all my time and energy to writing, striving to return to ten thousand words a day.
