Gwen Family's Hidden Secret (2)
"Then I'll tell you everything. Our Green Forest clan was one of the elf tribes living peacefully in the Tilirin Mountains."
Saint explained at length how they had ended up here and how they had fallen under Beelzebub's control.
"So, to sum it up in three lines?"
Beelzebub had invaded the peaceful village of the Green Forest clan in the Tilirin Mountains.
In the midst of the battle between the Green Forest clan and Beelzebub, a rift suddenly tore open in the sky, sucking both forces into it and crash-landing them in this world.
Though enemies, the two sides decided to cooperate to survive in this new world.
But the Demon King's nature didn't change—he stabbed the elves in the back and forced them into submission.
"That right?"
"In summary... yes."
When I asked if I'd summed it up correctly, Saint nodded with a gloomy expression.
"But why'd you let Beelzebub backstab you like that? You're no pushovers."
Even before crash-landing in this world, Beelzebub had relentlessly attacked the Green Forest clan. They'd held out for centuries against a guy who could unleash plagues.
It was hard to believe people with that kind of power had let themselves get played so easily.
Saint gave a bitter smile at my question.
"No matter the world, humans are humans. For every good one, there's a bad one. And whether good or bad, they all love beautiful things the same."
"What're you getting at?"
"The humans here... they started hunting elves."
The elves' stunning beauty was a double-edged sword. Some envied it, while others were consumed by jealousy, hatred, and a desire to possess it.
But one thing struck me as odd.
"Were humans back then that strong? Strong enough to catch you guys?"
"There were superpowered people even in that era. And above all, we couldn't use our full strength due to the aftereffects of crossing the dimensional rift."
"Hm."
Crossing dimensions was no small feat—worse than any plane or ship ride. The side effects were brutal.
Facing waves of humans in that state, the damage was inevitable.
"But that was how many years ago?"
"I don't remember exactly, but at least 300 years."
"....."
300 years ago? This is what it means to be an elf?! Their sense of time was in centuries, not years.
"If not for our greatest warrior, Eltrin Jehav, more than half the elves gathered here would have died or been captured by those humans back then."
"Eltrin Jehav?"
I glanced at the elves standing behind Saint at the unfamiliar name.
But they're still just standing there? Legs don't get tired?
"And that's where it began."
"Began?"
I tilted my head and focused on Saint's words.
"At the time, Lord Eltrin Jehav spared no effort to save as many elves as possible. As a result, he sustained severe injuries."
"Hm."
"And that marked the beginning of hell."
The injury to Eltrin Jehav—the Green Forest clan's greatest warrior and spiritual pillar—shook the elves to their core.
In this unfamiliar world, their unity crumbled like a sandcastle.
At this rate, the Green Forest clan's future was clear: captured by humans, dragged around as sex slaves, or killed. Either way, a miserable end.
And that's when Beelzebub stepped in.
He was huge and strong, but the dimensional crossing had hit him hard too. During superpowered attacks, he'd hidden meekly by the sacred tree.
Not that he'd done nothing—he'd controlled local flies to warn the elves of superpowered positions and plans.
Even so, without Beelzebub, the elves couldn't have held out long against the assaults.
Eltrin would have refused if he'd known, dying as an elf.
But he was in a coma, and the elves couldn't bear losing their spiritual leader.
In the end, they took Beelzebub's hand—unaware it was a trap.
"Ugh!"
I grimaced as Saint finished explaining.
He tilted his head.
"What's wrong?"
"So that elf Eltrin just gave up his ass to Beelzebub's fly spawn while unconscious? Fucking horrifying."
"Gave up... what?"
"It happens. Anyway, he gave up his backdoor, right? Horrifying shit."
"Backdoor? You mean his asshole?"
"Bingo. Too blunt much?"
"Ah."
Saint gave a bitter smile. Dude needs face treatment—it's all purple and swollen from me beating his ass earlier.
"You've misunderstood, benefactor."
"Misunderstood?"
"Yes. Beelzebub fed Lord Eltrin Jehav a fly he'd spawned from his own body. No sexual relations."
"No sex? But that fly fucker told me he blessed Ellis through sex..."
Beelzebub on the wooden throne had said he bestowed blessings via sex with Ellis.
But a lie?
"That was a lie to provoke you. Beelzebub blesses by feeding flies."
"No way?"
"Yes."
"Why lie to me like that? Oh, provocation? Nailed it—I was pissed. But why that specific bullshit?"
"Because you're... quite lustful, aren't you? Beelzebub knew that and chose the lie that'd hit hardest."
"So none of you fucked him either?"
"Correct."
Mind-blowing twist...! Beelzebub wasn't a sex pest—he was the impossible kind!
Anyway, back to it: Eltrin Jehav rose again, linked to Beelzebub's life.
More precisely, it was Beelzebub puppeteering.
The evil Demon King had seized Eltrin Jehav's body.
First thing rising from the bed: changing his name.
The elves thought Eltrin had just shortened it—clueless it was Beelzebub's nickname.
"Hold up. Elzev? That old fucker on the wooden throne?"
"Yes. That was Lord Eltrin Jehav."
Elzev acted as Eltrin Jehav daily, blessing elves one by one to subjugate them.
By the time Saint and Risanna—the next strongest—realized, it was too late. Everyone else was already under Beelzebub's control.
Elzev then led the elves, striking a deal with the superpowered groups attacking them.
Whatever the deal, the attacks stopped after.
Time passed, forming the modern Gwen family, blending into human society.
"Why Gwen family specifically? No connection to you elves or Beelzebub."
"Beelzebub's doing—I don't know the exact reason. All I know is a real Gwen family existed, and we joined their registry as members."
"Huh."
Should've killed Beelzebub later. He'd have spilled more than Saint.
"Okay. I heard you out."
I nodded and stood.
The Gwen family mess bothering Elis was settled, anyway.
Time to head back and fuck the gumiho again.
Or nah? Go home?
Head home, get Elis to repay me for fixing her family shit. Take the day off, get some intense service. Not bad.
"Um... benefactor."
"Yeah?"
"Thank you again for saving us."
"Thank you, benefactor."
Saint bowed again, and the elves behind followed suit.
"No big deal."
"And..."
"Hm?"
"From now on, we'll do anything you ask."
"...Anything?"
Saint stopped me as I turned to leave.
Did he just say anything?
"You'll do anything I want?"
"Yes, benefactor. Just say the word."
"....."
I looked ahead—at Risanna and the women.
Stunning beauties everywhere.
"...Heh."
I couldn't help but chuckle.
They did say anything.
"Oh, right—what about Elis? Taking her?"
"Elizabeth..."
Saint's face darkened at Elis's name, filled with guilt.
"Though we bore her on Beelzebub's orders, we gave her nothing as parents. We have no right to demand anything from her as—"
"Hold up."
"Yes?"
"You bore Elis on Beelzebub's orders? What the fuck?"
What kinda bullshit is this?
"As you saw, Eltrin Jehav's body—controlled by Beelzebub—had weakened rapidly lately. Aging was proof. Beelzebub needed a new vessel and ordered me and Risanna—the strongest after Eltrin—to bear a child. That's Elizabeth."
"....."
A chill ran down my spine.
If Elis had gone home without a word, it'd mean that fly bastard took her body?
"Fuck...!"
Rage boiled up.
At myself!
I shouldn't have killed Beelzebub so cleanly... Should've tortured him forever. Or locked him in the bug farm for daily sessions!
"Benefactor? What's wrong suddenly?"
"Nothing. Keep going."
"...Yes. As parents, we failed to give her the love she deserved. We lack the qualifications. We have no right to demand anything from Elizabeth."
"Hm."
Freed from Beelzebub, Saint was a decent guy. His downcast eyes and expression rang true.
"You heard earlier—Ellis is my woman. She'll stay by my side forever. No coming back to you."
"...That's fine. We're sinners to Elizabeth. Even if she hates or despises us, it's our karma to bear."
"Hm. One more thing I'm curious about."
"Ask away."
"You're elves, so Elizabeth's an elf too?"
"That's... honestly, we don't know."
"Huh? Why not?"
"Well..."
Saint continued.
Elis was indeed born to him and Risanna.
But newborn Elis had round human ears, not the pointed elf ones.
"We'd need tests for certainty. My guess: dimensional crossing mutated our genes, giving her round ears."
"What? That's serious, right?"
Elis sick? That hit hard.
"No."
Saint shook his head.
"It's a side effect, but not entirely bad. For instance..."
He raised his hand, flame blooming—not magic, but a superpower.
"Our natural mana was mostly corrupted, but we gained this world's 'superpower' in exchange. Elizabeth's round ears are likely why."
