Execute [Monster: Otherworld Demon King - Beelzebub]!
🎁 Special Reward: Granted upon clear
In the distant past, a dimensional rift was torn open by a being of immense power. The rift affected all worlds in that dimension, and one of the Seven Demon Kings, Fly King - Beelzebub, was caught in it and manifested in this world.
Each world possesses a power that sustains it, and this world sought to expel the other-dimensional entity known as Fly King - Beelzebub. But he used some method to deceive the world's gaze, allowing him to survive to this day.
However, Fly King - Beelzebub is a greedy being who will devour this world at any moment. Fail to execute him, and hell will descend upon this world.
"... Heh heh heh."
Checking the system messages, I let out a baffled chuckle.
"Wait, isn't this supposed to be a modern story? Or at least an adult game?"
What the hell? Suddenly we're talking dimensional rifts, other worlds, and Demon Kings? And then what? If I don't execute the Demon King, hell descends on this world?
"Heh heh heh. What a freakish mongrel."
This world really is a mishmash of every genre imaginable.
"Anyway, it boils down to 'kill that bastard.' Wait a sec?"
Sensing something off, I double-checked the topmost system message.
[Monster: Otherworld Demon King - Beelzebub] discovered.
"That fucker... gets classified as a monster?"
Beelzebub, who clearly existed in another world, got swept into this one through a dimensional rift.
'No way?'
Does that mean all the other monsters in this world are also creatures from different dimensions?
'Come to think of it.'
Monster research papers always start with something like this:
[In the distant past, the world was destroyed by monsters that suddenly appeared one day.]
Monsters, just like Beelzebub, popped into existence here out of nowhere. So yeah, they could all be lifeforms from other worlds.
"Oh, fuck. Did I just uncover some massive secret?"
Who would've thought monsters were other-dimensional beings! If I revealed this to the world, world leaders would be clutching their heads, yelling "Eureka!" and probably award me the Nobel Peace Prize for the groundbreaking discovery!
"Nobel Peace Prize!"
That thing gives bonus points on the level 9 civil service exam, right?
Back when I was Korean, one of my dreams was to become a civil servant. But not just any—start as a level 9 and climb all the way to the ultimate boss: President.
President! Rule South Korea with an iron fist! Befriend a shaman buddy and hand over national governance to them!
"Then Gwanghwamun Square erupts in candlelight protests, and boom—impeached."
From prologue to ending, a perfect scenario.
Of course, this is just a pipe dream I made up on the spot. There are no countries in this world anyway.
"Anyway, I gotta kill that freakish mongrel."
Elzev—no, Beelzebub—looked down at me, bursting into laughter.
"Fuck, I don't wanna fight."
He's so grotesquely ugly, my battle lust just evaporated. Just sharing the same space makes my eyes feel like they're rotting.
But I had to fight Beelzebub. Not because of the quest.
"How dare you covet my things again?"
That bastard had the gall to eye my possessions twice. First, he claimed Ellis was his. Now he's after this world, which will be mine someday.
I can't forgive a freak who covets what's mine.
Healing
I used Healing to mend my wounds. I'd planned to show up hurt to Sujeong-i for some tender nursing, but facing a guy titled "King," I needed to be at full strength.
"Hm."
But even at "full," my HP (Health Point) and brainpower were too low.
"Eh, whatever."
I fought Siren in an even worse state than this—and won. Plus, the system classified Beelzebub as a monster.
Yeah, monster. Like water beats fire, fire beats wood, lightning beats water.
"Fuckin' easy win."
Classified as a monster, he's already lost the matchup game. With my victory formula locked in and the type advantage? My win rate isn't 100%—it's 200%.
This is a can't-lose scenario, even if I tried.
Koreans have a folk saying from Starcraft pros: "Why'd I lose when nothing even happened?"
Exactly. Beelzebub lost without doing shit.
Hunter's Seal
I activated the Monster Hunter power and skill. Time to chip away at his HP first?
"You're fucked, you fly bastard. I'll swat you with a flyswatter."
I launched myself at Beelzebub. He swung an arm—or leg?—at me. Eh, whatever; the two upper pairs are arms.
Anyway, the fuckwit Beelzebub swiped at me.
"Dumbass."
Exactly what I wanted. Lets me stamp the Hunter's Seal on him easy.
Thud—!
"Guh!"
His massive size packed a punch—stronger impact than even Saint Dunn's power. Gritting through the pain, I slammed my palm into his arm.
Sizzle—!
The Hunter's Seal etched onto his arm, and Beelzebub writhed in agony. One stack secured, I landed cockily and taunted.
"What? Hurts? Boo-hoo, life is pain~ Didn't you know?"
Sweet Life is my life movie.
Just one stack and he's raging? All that tough-guy, chill act crumbles after one hit. Total paper tiger.
Wait, vermin?
"You're the vermin—why call me vermin?"
Vermin means lowly parasites like insects. Not words for a fly like Beelzebub to throw at a human.
Hunter's Seal
Second seal prepped in my left hand, I charged Beelzebub again.
He flinched, spotting the seal in my left.
Flutterflutterflutter—!
His six pairs of wings vibrated, whipping up a fierce gale.
"Guh!"
What the hell is this wind pressure?! I couldn't close in against the blast.
'Attraction!'
I extended my right hand with Attraction, but my body still wouldn't advance.
'Then!'
If I can't approach, make him come to me. My ultimate skill: playing weak. Always works.
"Gaaah!"
I deliberately relaxed, letting the wind hurl me back.
Beelzebub, unworthy of his grandiose titles, was painfully simple. Cowered when I advanced, now smug as I flew back.
'... Hm?'
This fucker's been demanding my "flesh" nonstop. Annoying as hell, but thinking it over... something's fishy.
The world tried to expel him, but he deceived it somehow.
'What if that "somehow" is parasitism?'
Logical suspicion. And from me, Dark City's top brain? 99.99% certainty. My suspicions are facts.
'In that case...'
"... Heh."
I couldn't help laughing. Killer vs. anti-killer—who's got the edge? No need to explain. My 200% win rate just hit 300%.
"Gaaaah! The wind's too strong—I can't move!"
He kept laughing like it was the funniest shit. Beelzebub approached slowly—but not too close. Paper tiger with killer caution.
Crackle—!
But close enough. 'Ride the lightning.'
I fired lightning at the ceiling, then rode it up. My will guided it above his head, out of the wind. I released and landed on his noggin.
"Huh? What's 'huh'? You tell me, fly fuck."
Thwack—!
Second seal stamped on his filthy crown.
Pain must've hit hard—he thrashed wildly.
"Whoa!"
His leg barely missed Risanna Gwen's side. Others were at risk too.
"Back off, you psycho fly fuck!"
I locked my legs around his neck, yanked his head back. His skull tilted, and he staggered rearward step by step.
"Three stacks!"
Third seal on the nape—he loved it, squirming like mad.
"I'm getting married!"
"No thanks!"
If you don't like it, get married. Stacking dad jokes while sealing.
He flailed limbs to shake me, but with Monster Hunter active, no dice. Minimum level 11 body enhancer strength. Probably 12+.
"Stay still!"
"Married!"
Dad joke stack two!
Blood Smell
His resistance ramped up, so I used Blood Smell to weaken him.
Blood Smell debuffs monster stats—his struggles eased. Methodically stacking nape seals, I hit the big ten.
"Hunter's Seal!"
Thud—!
Beelzebub froze, trembling. The ten seals vanished, deleting 30% HP.
"Die! Die! Die!"
Targeting his groggy state, I pummeled the head-body junction relentlessly.
Bam—! Bam—! Bam—!
Each punch cracked his chitin shell, revealing pink innards.
Charge
Cracklecrackle—!
I charged my right hand with lightning, pouring in all remaining brainpower. Then plunged the electrified fist into his flesh.
"Don't covet others' shit, fly fuck."
"Yes!"
ZAPCRACKLECRACKLE—!
Lightning from my fist burrowed deep, charring everything it touched.
Screech— Thud—!
His trembling body collapsed limply backward.
