EP7. North Korean Gate
[EP7. North Korean Gate]
"Urgh."
Bae Ji-hoon barely came to his senses the next morning at the blaring alarm.
He fumbled for his phone and turned it off.
"Haa. My head hurts."
Ji-hoon naturally buried his face back into the pillow.
He still had about an hour before he needed to head to work.
But then he realized the pillow felt different from the ones at his place.
It was excessively luxurious and fluffy.
"Huh?"
He lifted his head, and an entirely unfamiliar room with different decor came into view.
'A motel?'
Ji-hoon jolted upright in shock.
He remembered eating pork soup and rice alone at the diner yesterday, but everything after that was a blank.
'I think I called Jae-jun... Or did I?'
His head throbbed too much to think further.
'Guess I made it back on my own.'
With a sigh, Ji-hoon got up and headed to the bathroom.
Soon, the sound of cool water running echoed out.
At that moment, his phone started ringing nonstop.
Viiiing—
It kept going until Ji-hoon finished his shower.
"If I ever drink like this again, I'll be a total dog."
Ji-hoon hurriedly dressed and stepped out of the motel.
Only then did he check his phone.
'What the hell?'
Looking at the list, it was his junior from work.
'Ah. Something must've blown up again.'
Ji-hoon's face twisted.
His head already hurt enough today.
Tu-doo tu-doo—
The junior picked up almost immediately.
"S-Sunbae!"
"Haa. What? Another new gate? Why are you calling so early in the morning..."
"It's the Dragon Knight!"
"What? Dragon Knight? A new monster?"
"No! S-rank hunter! Dragon Knight! He's clearing all our dungeons right now!"
"What?"
Ji-hoon quickly hailed a taxi and headed to the gate.
—
Choi Jae-jun had summoned all his familiars and was conquering the dungeons.
He started from D-rank onward, skipping the F- and E-rank ones that low-grade hunters could handle.
'This guy's insane!'
Kang Jun-yong had been assigned as Jae-jun's knight for the next three days.
Thanks to that, he'd followed him into the dungeon, only to be horrified by Jae-jun's hunting method.
At first, entering the D-rank dungeon, he'd clicked his tongue, wondering why an S-rank was bothering with D-ranks.
Just wasting time.
But that was Jun-yong's misconception.
Jae-jun first called forth his bizarre summons.
Most were monster-shaped: ghouls, liches, trolls, ogres, and one massive centipede.
He gathered the summons in one spot, then shouted at Jun-yong.
"Run!"
And he ignored the trash mobs entirely, heading straight for the boss room.
"Chase them! The prey is escaping!"
The dungeon's monsters—boar pigs—came thundering after the summons and Jae-jun.
Jae-jun glanced back occasionally, adjusting his speed so the boar pigs wouldn't lose them.
"Kill them!"
"Stop, human!"
Finally, in the boss room sat a boar king several times larger than the regular boar pigs.
Jae-jun pulled Michael's sword from his inventory, kicked off the ground, and leaped into the air.
'Blade Storm!'
Blade Storm
Flames burst from Michael's sword, forming blade shapes that filled the entire boss room.
And they slaughtered every last boar pig.
Boar Pig defeated.
Boar Pig defeated.
...
Boar Pig defeated.
Boar King defeated.
Dungeon exit appears!
'What the hell.'
A single AoE skill had roasted all the boar pigs and the boss.
Jun-yong could understand that much—it'd just take him longer.
The problem came next.
"Grroooar!"
"Grrrlll..."
The summons Jae-jun had called were rummaging through the corpses, gathering items and magical cores.
'Using summons as workers? Good grief.'
Jun-yong snorted involuntarily at the sight of liches and trolls digging through bodies.
The gathered items all went to Jae-jun, while the cores went to Hestia until she was full.
[Full!]
'Cheap stuff in bulk fills her up fast, huh.'
"Yeah, got it."
Jae-jun stroked Hestia's neck affectionately.
Hestia, clearly enjoying it, closed her eyes and rubbed her neck against him.
Then someone tapped Jae-jun's arm—it was Gwo-eok.
"Grroooaaar!"
Gwo-eok handed over a small stone.
'Sigh.'
"Good job. Go pick up more over there. Got it?"
Gwo-eok roared loudly in delight at the praise and dashed back to the corpses.
'This is... impressive? Bizarre? Hard to say.'
Kang Jun-yong scratched his head and stepped back.
Trying to understand just gave him a headache.
But it wasn't bad.
The whole process—hunting, looting—took only about five minutes.
As soon as they exited, Jae-jun looked at Jun-yong and shouted.
"Next!"
