Prologue
Han Taejin. Twenty-three years old.
Today, he had finally landed his dream job.
A dream job — some mega-corporation? A doctor? No. Nowhere close.
For his generation, the ultimate career was security guard. And among security guards—
"Heh. Hunter apartment security guard."
That was it. A Hunter apartment security guard.
Why was that the best job around? Simple. In the Great Hunter Era, you got immediate protection the moment a Gate opened — and the paycheck was fat as hell.
A job that paid three million won a month wasn't something you just stumbled into.
And the salary only climbed higher with time.
The competition for Hunter security positions was brutal, yet somehow, today, he had become one.
It actually worked.
Even Taejin himself hadn't really expected to get it.
After all, the applicants had come packing every kind of résumé imaginable.
Why the hell would a Seoul National University PhD apply to be a security guard...?
Anyway, having landed the apartment security job, he figured his dream life was about to unfold.
One month later.
"Haa... life is fucking shit."
That was before the unimaginable difficulty of the work had him living with a cigarette permanently glued to his lips.
