Chapter 5 : Happening (1)
Chapter 5 : Happening (1)
The Count's bedroom.
Agnes shuddered, then lowered her head to check what she had been doing just moments before.
The bed was full of truly shameful traces.
"Haa...."
Agnes slowly sat up, clutching her confused head.
Then, she flinched and pulled her hand away.
It was because the liquid on her fingertips had stuck to her hair, causing discomfort.
Agnes frowned and sighed, then proceeded to do something else.
It was taking off her underwear, which was soaked and adding to the discomfort, and throwing it away.
What followed was an analysis of the disgraceful behavior she had displayed.
'I...'
What did I do?
Agnes's mind calmed down.
There were no aftereffects that Deltain and Kaltara had anticipated.
She simply let out an exclamation.
'I was thinking things like that?'
It was a true feeling that was all the more shocking because Agnes originally had very thin emotional lines.
To be sure, Agnes realized for the first time that she was anxious about the fact that she might want to live.
Naturally, it was a blow to her pride.
It was also something that brought shame.
However, even though she had realized her true feelings, Agnes was not flustered.
The temptation had already vanished.
Agnes could easily ignore those true feelings.
Whether in a state of amplified emotions or now, there was only one thing Agnes wanted: to become Deltain Hebron's eternity.
'It's actually for the best.'
This experience served as an opportunity to reflect on herself, so there would be fewer mistakes in the future.
Judging by the fact that the temptation had lifted, Deltain must have safely dealt with the demon.
He was probably on his way here right now.
What she needed to think about was the appearance she should show him when he returned.
It was a dilemma about what kind of reaction would allow her to dig deeper into his heart.
Agnes began a truly calculating deliberation.
'...Being shy won't do.'
That would make her no different from other wenches.
'Tearing up won't do either.'
Pity or shame cannot move Deltain's heart.
If she lets him look down on her, what else would come of it but a limitation on the range of actions she can take?
'Then...'
Agnes smiled faintly.
What came to mind was an intelligent and alluring smile.
She decided on her course of action, lay back down on the bed, and looked at the door.
She did not clean up the wreckage.
It was fine that her discarded underwear was lying right under the bed, and that the sheets, blankets, and clothes were all soaked.
Because this, too, would serve as a good tool to seduce Deltain Hebron.
"I'm back...."
Deltain entered through the gap of the door that had been flung open.
And he held his breath.
"You're here."
Agnes smiled.
*
Deltain first gathered information through his sight.
Agnes, smiling at him with her eyes, was the same as usual.
But for some reason, the damp sheets and blankets, and the hem of Agnes's pajamas, made him imagine lewd things.
No, could the thoughts occurring to him now simply be called imagination?
Could he really conclude that she just spilled water, even after seeing that wet underwear lying right under the bed?
'...Fuck.'
He absolutely could not.
At the very least, anyone with common sense and intuition would know what she had been doing while steeped in temptation.
"Did you catch the demon?"
Deltain could not answer.
It was because he was dazed by a scene he hadn't even been able to imagine.
But that didn't last long.
Deltain narrowed his brows sharply and said.
"...Which family's etiquette involves playing with yourself in someone else's bed?"
"What can I do? I was steeped in temptation. I couldn't control myself, and the room was full of your scent. It was hard to hold back."
"What the..."
"I told you."
Agnes's lips curved into an arc.
"I get aroused while imagining doing it with you."
Deltain was rendered speechless.
He had a premonition that what he had been thinking about the whole way here might actually be happening right now.
That was Deltain's honest feeling.
He wanted to run away.
It was because the situation of facing her in this state, the underwear making its presence known in the middle of that red carpet, and her hair, disheveled and wet with sweat and some unknown liquid, were all extreme stimuli to him.
But he couldn't.
Whatever it was, running away from the situation at hand was something that should never happen for Deltain Hebron.
"...You're acting like a dog in heat."
"Yeah, I think I really have to admit it now. I am a bitch."
Agnes slowly sat up.
Her sweat-soaked pajamas shone translucently, vaguely revealing her skin underneath.
"Hey. Do you remember the promise you made to me?"
"..."
"You remember, right?"
Deltain's face flushed red.
It was a silent affirmation.
While Agnes was filled with a pleasant feeling, Deltain said.
"It was just something I said to calm you down while you were steeped in temptation."
"A promise is still a promise."
"Think rationally. What do you have to gain by doing... that with me?"
"I do."
For Agnes, the most important thing was in that act.
"I can have you."
"...What?"
"I can take your first time. That's what I want."
With a sliding sound, Agnes pulled her legs out of the bed.
The insides of her thighs were also glistening with an unknown liquid.
"It was three hours. From when you threw me in this room until the temptation was lifted."
She stood up with her snow-white legs and slowly approached Deltain.
She was staggering, perhaps because her strength had drained a little.
"All that time, I was drowning in your scent. My emotions have settled, but my body hasn't settled at all. It's still too hot. I'm suffocating. And I know how to solve this."
Agnes approached Deltain and hugged his waist.
"As expected, it has to be you."
Agnes took a position looking up at Deltain from below.
She captured him in her cherry-blossom-colored eyes.
Everything she said was true.
But her actions were thoroughly calculated.
"Sleep with me, Deltain."
She delivered the words in a voice filled with heat.
Agnes felt Deltain's muscles begin to tense.
She also felt his breathing becoming slightly ragged.
So she pressed her body even closer to him.
Deltain frowned with a face that looked somewhat suppressed and said.
"...Why don't you just confess?"
"You'd reject me. That's why I won't. I like things to be certain."
"Is that the kind of temptation you're talking about, pushing your body on me? Don't you think you're acting too cheap?"
"I don't. Because you're the only one I've ever allowed, and will ever allow, to have my body."
"Words are cheap..."
"And this is only a part of it."
Agnes said that and buried her head in Deltain's chest.
"I'm going to have everything of yours. Your body, your heart. Your memories too."
She carefully stroked Deltain's lower back.
Agnes truly wished for it.
That she would be in all of Deltain's life and the days to come.
That she would remain as the most beautiful yet painful memory, binding him.
That even if this pathetic body met its end, she would live forever.
"...Yeah, we agreed to do that."
Agnes slipped away from Deltain.
There was a distance of about a fist's width between the two.
"I forgot."
Agnes said, sounding amused, and thought.
That this much teasing was enough.
That she wanted the promised reward rather than troubling him any further.
Agnes slowly lowered her upper body and knelt down.
The woman's lines revealed in doing so were reflected in the moonlight, showing the damp sheen as it was.
"Deltain."
Agnes lifted her head and looked up at him.
With her always-brilliant blonde hair hanging down, she politely brought her knees together, then raised her arms to press against her chest.
Then, she put her palms together and rubbed them up and down very slowly.
On her face, flushed with a red hue, the black traces painted around her cherry-blossom-colored eyes curved beautifully into an arc.
"Please sleep with me. Please."
Even though she was saying such servile words, she was not at all vulgar.
Deltain thought that it was an atmosphere created by her composure, which hadn't disappeared even in this situation.
It was a strange thing.
Even though Deltain was looking down at her, he felt like he was looking up at her.
"Please punish the bitch who only thinks lewd thoughts."
Deltain's lips were bitten tight at the voice full of laughter.
Even though it was definitely something he had suggested first, he didn't want to see it.
Because seeing this appearance caused heat to well up inside him. And now, there was no excuse for that heat.
Because the demon's temptation had already vanished.
"...Stop."
He reached out and stopped her movements.
The hands that had been rubbing up and down stopped.
"Stop."
"Are you going to sleep with me?"
"Stop that too. Did you forget? It's impossible with your body. Make another request."
"This is my request. No, I'm the one who should be asking. The wish you promised the day I came to your mansion last time. Let it be this."
"That makes no sense...!"
Agnes smiled.
She was relaxed even though Deltain was vehemently refusing.
It was because she already understood him.
Agnes knew the cause of that hesitation.
'It's pride.'
He is the crystallization of ego.
He was someone who would never go back on something he had once decided.
Since he had clearly said he wouldn't give his body to her, he must have put the brakes on himself with those words.
Then there was only one thing to do.
Agnes stood up.
"There's nothing to hold back."
She took both of Deltain's hands.
"Because everything that happens from now on is a mistake."
She slowly led him to the bed.
"We still haven't escaped the demon's temptation. Our reason is clouded because of the remaining temptation. But it's okay."
Agnes sat down on the bed sheet first.
Then, while hugging Deltain's waist, she laid her back down on the bed.
A position was created as if Deltain was on top of Agnes.
"The demon has already been caught by Deltain Hebron. There is no more threat. One thing is important. Deltain was in a state where he couldn't make rational judgments due to battle fatigue and the lingering temptation, and it just so happened that I was in your bed in that situation."
Agnes made eye contact with Deltain while lying down.
Her eye-smile deepened.
"Everything that happens from now on is just a happening."
Agnes's hand went to the back of Deltain's neck.
Immediately after, she added force and pulled him toward her.
What followed was a whisper.
"We are the only ones who know about this. And we will never tell anyone about this outside. Yes, this is an unavoidable 'mistake'."
Her flushed breath and faint laughter tickled Deltain's ear.
Deltain's breath stopped.
Agnes said, pleased with all of it.
And thus she wished.
"So, break me."
That he would give his body to her.
"Make me suffer."
That he would remember this moment.
"Engrave yourself inside me."
That at the end of it, he would dip his feet into the swamp.
