Chapter 683: Sticky
These matters had already been discussed between Fatty and Zhan Lian in their meetings, but because of the Chen Chaofa incident, Yun Tao had not managed any affairs for a long time. He and An Ran were both idle people now, not involved in the base’s operations.
So the two of them gathered together to talk about their views on Yaoyang Base’s future direction.
But once Tang Siluo interrupted them, that topic ended and naturally shifted to Tang Siluo herself.
An Ran opened her mouth, wanting to tell Yun Tao about Tang Siluo’s pregnancy, but what slipped out instead was, “I heard from those survivors in the Grand Fortune Hotel that Tang Siluo was later given to Chen Chaofa by Lei Jiang?”
Based on the timeline, before Tang Siluo was rescued she had been with Chen Chaofa during that period, so An Ran wondered if the child in Tang Siluo’s belly might be Chen Chaofa’s.
It was just speculation, nothing certain.
Since Tang Siluo was hiding it herself, and according to Liu Shasha she had even kneeled and begged Fatty not to reveal it, that meant Tang Siluo had her own arrangements. An Ran couldn’t be petty toward an unborn child.
Yun Tao nodded. “I heard that was the case. Zhang Boxun already knows.”
“Ah?” An Ran perked up with gossip, tilting her head at Yun Tao. “Then what was Zhang Boxun’s reaction?”
“What could he react with?” Yun Tao gave her an annoyed look. “This isn’t some melodrama. Tang Siluo is at most a fool. Just leave that fool alone. Zhang Boxun should move on with his life.”
In truth, An Ran and Zhao Ru both secretly expected Zhang Boxun to do something dramatic, like getting tangled up and hesitating after Tang Siluo tried to approach him.
Honestly, if Zhang Boxun had gotten entangled with Tang Siluo, no one would be surprised.
But he did not. Up to now, even though they lived under the same sky, Zhang Boxun had not visited Tang Siluo even once, and Tang Siluo had not stepped out of her room.
An Ran shrugged and stopped talking about Tang Siluo and Zhang Boxun. Just because outsiders hoped for drama did not mean real life would be smooth.
And Tang Siluo had already taken action.
Along the way, everyone looked at Tang Siluo with strange expressions as she walked past.
Tang Siluo ignored all of them. Her heart was full of anger, thinking everyone was looking at her with ill intent.
Then she saw Zhang Boxun.
Under the moonlight, Zhang Boxun walked in her direction. He tilted his head toward Liu Shasha who stood beside him. Liu Shasha seemed to be saying something to him, pouting in displeasure. Yet Zhang Boxun actually had a faint smile on his face.
He looked gentle, peaceful, and happy.
Tang Siluo stopped abruptly where she stood. She stared at Zhang Boxun as if looking at a heartless traitor. She didn’t speak, but her eyes were full of accusation.
Zhang Boxun and Liu Shasha also noticed Tang Siluo. They stood still, with the firelight dancing behind them.
“You haven’t come to see me for so long just because you’re with her?” Tang Siluo pointed at Liu Shasha, tears falling from her eyes. Her chest was rising and falling sharply. She was clearly furious.
Zhang Boxun didn’t speak.
He pulled Liu Shasha to the side and told her quietly, “Go do your thing. I’ll talk to her for a moment.”
