Chapter 592: Not a Single One Came
Chapter 592: Not a Single One Came
“Cough, cough!!!” Luo Feifan feigned a few coughs, finally breaking the strange silence that filled the car.
He had noticed something was off with Tang Siluo. From all the little details since they’d run into her again, it was clear she no longer clung to him as before. Instead, she seemed to be setting her sights on Zhang Boxun.
But Zhang Boxun…That would no doubt become complicated.
Luo Feifan decided, like Zhan Lian and An Ran, to stay out of it. Better not to meddle in this matter. If handled poorly, bringing Tang Siluo back could easily turn into a disaster.
But even after the car had driven far, Tang Siluo still craned her head back to look. She looked so pitiful, like an abandoned puppy on the verge of tears, that Luo Feifan couldn’t help but cough again.
When she turned her tear-streaked face toward him, he said: “We’re here. I’ll hand you over to Fatty and let him arrange things. Tang Siluo, you mustn’t stir up trouble anymore. If you keep making a mess, there really won’t be anyone left who will come to save you.”
Tang Siluo nodded and began to cry again. Wiping the tears from her cheeks, she asked timidly, “Brother Feifan, won’t I be living with you all?”
From the front seat, An Ran nearly snapped. What? This woman actually wants to live with me? She had already tolerated Zhang Boxun and Luo Feifan bringing Tang Siluo back alive—that was concession enough. Live together with her? Absolutely not!
She reached out and pinched Zhan Lian’s thigh hard.
Still steering with one hand, Zhan Lian caught An Ran’s hand with the other, squeezed it, and pressed it flat against his leg.
Then he turned back and said to Tang Siluo: “Our place is too small. Fatty’s territory is large, and his influence is strong. He’ll arrange things for you.”
“That’s right,” Luo Feifan chimed in. “Once you’re with Fatty, just listen to him. As long as you don’t do anything foolish, Fatty’s actually not a bad person…” He trailed off.
What he really wanted to say was that Fatty was very much a beast. But if Tang Siluo didn’t crawl into his bed herself, Fatty wouldn’t go out of his way to force her. Leaving Tang Siluo with Fatty—it would all depend on whether she behaved herself.
“But…” Tang Siluo wanted to say that she wished to live with Zhang Boxun and Brother Feifan.
Her father was gone now, and the people he had left her with had also vanished, likely at Lei Jiang’s hands. That meant only Zhang Boxun and Luo Feifan were her family now. Shouldn’t they stay together?
Yet seeing the distance on Luo Feifan’s face, and Zhan Lian and An Ran’s clear indifference, she swallowed her words back down, feeling wronged.
Truth be told, she had once been so infatuated with Brother Feifan that she had ignored Zhang Boxun completely. But if she truly wanted to live with them, she couldn’t appeal to Brother Feifan. She had to go through Zhang Boxun.
No matter what she asked of him, Zhang Boxun would always agree.
So now Tang Siluo’s only plan was to wait—wait obediently for Zhang Boxun to come to her, break the ice, and bring her into An Ran’s circle.
But the waiting stretched on endlessly.
Tang Siluo had thought that once she ended up in Fatty’s hands, Zhang Boxun would surely come see her that very night. He would worry about whether she had enough to eat, if she was dressed warmly, if her bed was soft enough. On this, Tang Siluo had absolute confidence.
Yet after several days of waiting, not only did Zhang Boxun not come—Luo Feifan didn’t come either. And as for An Ran and Zhan Lian? Not a single one of them came.
