Chapter 466: Equipment
Chapter 466: Equipment
Little Mint has just woken up and brings a crystal core taken from a living flower ball to An Ran.
But An Ran notices something—Little Mint doesn’t seem nearly this tired when retrieving crystal cores from dead mice or zombies. Could extracting crystal cores from living organisms be more exhausting for her?
If so, besides sleeping, is there any other way to help her recover faster?
An Ran doesn’t know. So for now, she can only let Little Mint return to sleep.
She walks away and plants the new green crystal core into the soil.
Up ahead, Yun Tao and Liang Ziyu are pulling out radish-like flower balls. Axe sees them and immediately runs over to help. Axe is also a Strength-Type ability user, and his abilities are on par with Yun Tao’s.
With his help, the three of them quickly pull out a giant flower ball.
“Here you go.” Axe tosses a pair of gloves to Yun Tao and explains with a grin, “They’re firefighting gloves.”
Yun Tao already recognizes the gloves—they’re heat-resistant, flameproof, and insulated. Firefighters use them when rescuing people or putting out fires. But where did Axe get them?
Noticing Yun Tao’s puzzled expression, Axe points behind him at the nearby fire brigade. Through the broken window, two fire trucks are parked inside.
“Last night, since you guys locked us out, Boxun and I went and raided this fire station.”
“Smart move,” Yun Tao’s eyes light up. He turns to Liang Ziyu and says, “Let’s go find more gear later.”
He puts on the gloves, smashes the flower ball open with a punch, and pulls out the crystal core inside. Then, together with Liang Ziyu and Axe, he heads toward the fire brigade.
As they pass by the bridal shop, Yun Tao casually tosses the green crystal core they’ve dug up to An Ran.
An Ran catches it and asks, “Where are you guys going?”
They’re about to approach the area near that giant tree. It’s best if everyone doesn’t wander too far. If they get scattered and run into danger, it’ll be hard to respond in time.
“Looking for equipment!”
It’s Liang Ziyu who answers as the three of them march into the fire brigade without looking back.
When they come out, they’re fully geared up—fire-resistant suits, radiation protection equipment, helmets, head covers, boots, and large pliers.
With this new equipment, the three Strength-Type ability users are fully energized. They head straight toward the massive tree up ahead.
That tree is the same one that once forced An Ran and the group to retreat to the bridal shop. Its trunk spans three full lanes.
In reality, it isn’t a single tree—it’s a mass of intertwined mutant vines, blooming with countless green buds and flowers, forming a wide red canopy that blots out the sky.
It’s terrifying.
Before the trio can even get close, several vines lash out and catch all three of them mid-air.
Seeing this, Luo Feifan hurls a fireball and charges toward the tree.
Flames spread quickly, burning through several vines.
Yun Tao falls to the ground, but Liang Ziyu and Axe are still hanging.
Yun Tao reaches out, grabs the vines entangling Liang Ziyu, and yanks him down.
At the same time, Zhan Lian dashes over, his flying knives spinning. In a flash, he slices through the vines binding Axe.
