An Ran is now trapped here by Zhan Lian. In this huge Tiesi Village, Yun Tao and Hengheng’s whereabouts are unknown, and Zhan Lian has taken them somewhere. Little Mint's situation is also unclear. The longer it takes, the greater the chance of danger.
Little Mint nods, trusting An Ran completely, and helps clean up the table. When she sees Zhan Lian enter the room with Doll in his arms, Little Mint stiffens and looks at him warily.
"Why did you bring her here?" Seeing Little Mint's alert expression, An Ran quickly turns around and sees Doll sitting upright in Zhan Lian’s arms. Zhan Lian is holding Doll by her armpit with one hand. The little girl is shaking her unstable head and staring carefully at Zhan Lian’s profile.
She almost looks cross-eyed.
"She's awake and sweating all over her back. She needs a change of clothes."
Zhan Lian hands Doll to An Ran, who takes her in her arms. Doll turns her head toward Zhan Lian, trembling slightly.
An Ran reaches out and touches her back, finding that the cotton monk’s robe is indeed damp.
Hurrying, she takes Doll to the next room, places her in the center of the big bed, then goes to the car to find fresh clothes for Doll.
Her SUV, which has driven all the way from Xiangcheng, is parked in Gaoping by Zhan Lian. All her supplies are still in the car, untouched by him.
After finding the clothes, An Ran turns around to find Little Mint standing nervously outside the door, a vigilant expression on her face. Zhan Lian is just inside the room, and Little Mint seems worried about what Zhan Lian might do to Doll.
An Ran smiles and gently pulls Little Mint’s ear. "Are you tired? Sit down and rest."
Little Mint nods obediently and goes to find a chair in the next room. An Ran shakes her head and walks back into the room with the clothes for Doll. She sees Zhan Lian lying beside the bed, lazily helping Doll turn over.
"Don’t you have anything to do today?"
An Ran comes over, takes off her shoes, kneels on the bed, and begins changing Doll’s clothes. She looks at Zhan Lian, who is lying on his back with his hands behind his head, as if he intends to stay on her bed.
She asks again, "Aren’t you the captain of District 4? You took us to the hospital this morning, so surely you have a lot of work left to do."
"No rush. Let’s deal with it tonight." Zhan Lian yawns and closes his eyes. Doll under his arm also yawns.
An Ran pauses, quickly finishing dressing Doll. She then sits on the bed and asks Zhan Lian, "Since you have nothing to do right now, and you’ve eaten and drunk enough, why don’t you take me to see Yun Tao? I really have something urgent to discuss about Little Mint. She can’t make up her mind, and neither can I. Tell me, can you make a decision for me?"
An Ran is getting frustrated after being trapped here for so long, unable to do anything important. She has never met someone as shameless as Zhan Lian.
Zhan Lian suddenly turns over and sits up, frowning as he looks at her. He stares at her for a long time, making An Ran feel uneasy. She begins to wonder if she has said something to upset him.
Then, to her surprise, he smiles and speaks in a friendly tone. "Look at you, you're already a mother, yet you're so impatient. You want to see Yun Tao? No problem. I’ll take you there now. When you meet him, just talk about this one thing. Then come back with me."
