Do You Want to Sleep With Me...?
My heart sank first, dropping with a heavy thud. Then my whole body froze solid as stone. My sister seemed to be in much the same state. The steady knock knock on the door made an answer fly out of my mouth on reflex.
“Y-yes?!”
Maybe I should have just pretended to be asleep. But had my sister locked the door when she came in? What if she hadn’t? What if Mom walked right in? Would Mom really do something like that? All sorts of wild thoughts swirled through my head.
“…Sorry, but could I come in for a second…?”
Mom’s voice slipped through the crack in the door, small and hesitant.
“Yes, yes! Just a moment—!”
We had barely gotten our bodies tangled together, pressed so close. The warm heat, the shared body temperature, the eye contact, the movements, the atmosphere—everything had been perfect. I had no words for how much I regretted the interruption.
I shot up and hurriedly gathered the clothes I had tossed aside, pulling them back on piece by piece.
…My lower half was still bulging obscenely.
“Ah, um…”
I called out to my sister belatedly.
“……”
She had already yanked the blanket over her head completely.
“Haa…”
My body was still rigid with tension. Stiff as a wooden plank, I headed for the door first.
“…Gulp.”
I managed to tuck my erection sideways. It was still a little swollen, but not so bad that it looked completely obvious. The door was unlocked, just as I feared. The realization that I had nearly caused a disaster made my head spin.
Creak—
“Ah, Son!”
Through the narrow gap before the door could even open fully, Mom practically threw herself at me.
“Ah, uh, why? What’s wrong?”
I was worried about the smell wafting from the room, and more than that, my completely naked sister was still on my bed. I pushed Mom backward and stepped out into the hallway.
“Uh, uhh!”
My movement had been a little too rough; I caught Mom as she staggered back.
“Ah, sorry. The room’s a mess right now…”
After that unnecessary excuse, I slammed the door shut with a bang.
Mom wobbled unsteadily toward me.
“Ah, um, yeah… there’s, um, a spider… a spider in the living room…”
Her voice was thick with fear. She kept pointing frantically toward the living room and stomped her feet while clutching my wrist.
“Ah…”
“Son, I’m sorry it’s so late, but… could you catch the spider for me…?”
The plea was so earnest that refusing would have been impossible even if I hadn’t wanted to help.
“…All right. Let’s go.”
“Ah! Really?! Haa… thank you. I tried to sleep but it kept bothering me…”
Mom kept hold of my wrist and walked ahead with quick little steps. I followed quietly behind her.
Step. Step. Step. Our footsteps echoed softly. The living room was brightly lit.
“Th-there… it was right there earlier.”
Mom pointed under the coffee table, then pressed herself close against my back as if hiding behind me. I felt her warmth against my spine. The soft, yielding press of her body made me flinch.
“…Just a second.”
I scanned the area and yanked out a handful of tissues.
“Ah, are you going to kill it…?”
“…Yes. That was the plan…”
“Um… they say killing a spider at night brings ruin to the house… and anyway, spiders are beneficial insects, so…”
Even though she was scared half to death, Mom still seemed worried about that.
“Hah… fine. I’ll catch it alive and let it go outside. Okay?”
“…Yeah. Hehe… sorry.”
She must have felt embarrassed too, because she gave a small, shy laugh and backed up to watch me from a safer distance.
“Whew…”
I peered under the table. Even if it had run, it couldn’t have gone far, yet the spider was nowhere in sight.
“…Is it there…?”
Mom’s voice still trembled with fear. Suddenly a mischievous impulse hit me.
Tap— I slid my hand under the table and made a big show of wrapping something in the tissue. Of course there was nothing there.
“Got it?!”
Mom jumped violently and started fussing. Her feet stomped the floor again.
“What do I do?! Should I let it out by the front door? What should I do…?”
She was in total panic. I stood up. Her eyes immediately locked onto my hand.
“…Gulp.”
The sound of her swallowing was so loud it seemed to fill the entire living room. She took an instinctive step backward.
“Um, Son… why are you looking at me like that…?”
“Ah…”
Was it my obvious stare? The corner of my mouth had curled up without me realizing.
“…Don’t. Mom’s really going to get angry…?”
She was quick on the uptake. The moment she looked ready to bolt, I dashed forward.
“Kyaa, kyaaaa!!”
Mom collapsed onto the floor with a thud and let out a piercing shriek. The sight was so pitiful that I immediately regretted taking the prank too far.
“…Are you okay?”
“Ah, geez… Son… can you get rid of that thing quickly…?”
Her eyes were already glistening with tears. They looked so watery that a single poke might send them spilling down her cheeks.
“Haha… It was just a joke. Look. There’s nothing there…”
“Hic…?! Ah, aah…”
When I snapped the tissue open, Mom nearly fainted from shock. Then she saw it was empty.
“S-Son!!”
Her eyebrows shot up in a fierce inverted V. She bit her lower lip and glared up at me.
“Chee, chee… Haa…”
She looked like she was about to explode with anger, but instead of scary, the sight was actually kind of adorable.
“…Get up.”
I fought down the smile tugging at my lips and offered her my hand.
“……Mom was so startled…! Why would you prank me with something like that?!”
She clearly wanted an explanation, but I kept my mouth shut and simply grabbed her wrist.
“Just stand up first.”
“…Hmph!”
With a little grunt she got to her feet, then patted her large backside with a few thumps, pretending to brush off dust.
“…If you do that again, you’re really going to get it…”
Belated embarrassment must have set in; her face was faintly flushed.
“Yes.”
“You only answer properly when you want to! Only the answer!”
Mom scolded me, crossing her arms and glaring as if today were the day she would finally put me in my place.
“…Whoa!”
“Kyaaaaa!!”
This time I reached out with my other hand. Mom shrieked again and stumbled backward.
“Ah, really—!!”
Now her hand flew at me, slapping my back with sharp smacks.
“Hah, haa…”
Her palm was surprisingly strong. The spot she hit throbbed.
“Is teasing Mom that fun?!”
The rain of slaps continued, but it didn’t last long. She ended up rubbing her own sore palm and pouting up at me.
“…It’s just uselessly hard and stiff…”
Her lips poked out like a duck’s bill as she grumbled.
…It struck me again how much she resembled my sister.
“…So there really isn’t a spider…?”
“No. I don’t see it. It must have run off.”
“Ah…”
She parted her lips slightly, then moved them as if tasting the words.
“It probably crawled into some corner.”
I thought the situation would end there. After all, there wasn’t much else we could do.
“Ah, haa… I see…”
Mom fidgeted, glancing back and forth between me and the sofa.
“…What is it?”
“……Never mind. Sorry for waking you in the middle of the night. Thanks for helping.”
She gave my shoulder a couple of light pats, a small smile on her face.
Swish. Swish.
“……What is it?”
She began gathering the blanket from the sofa, along with the cushion she had been using as a pillow.
“…I’m too scared to sleep alone tonight. I’ll sleep with my daughter instead.”
Her expression was deeply embarrassed. Admitting she had to change sleeping arrangements because of a spider seemed incredibly humiliating for her.
“Ah……”
But that wasn’t the problem. The daughter she was looking for was currently in my room.
“Ah, uh, um… Ah! Then… um, uh…”
My mind was spinning. I had no idea what to say. My thoughts whirled chaotically until the words that finally tumbled out were—
“…Do you want to sleep with me…?”
“……What?”
That came out wrong. Or rather, it was right, but I had cut out all the context.
“No, I mean! My room’s been a little hot lately… I’ve been debating whether to sleep in the living room, so, um, I’ll just sleep here with you…”
“Ah, aah…”
She didn’t look fully convinced. If anything, her suspicion seemed to deepen.
“…Then sleep in the living room. Mom will sleep with your sister—”
“Ah, no! I also, um, wanted to… talk with you, Mom…”
“Oh my…”
I had squeezed the words out desperately. The future looked too bleak; I clenched my eyes shut.
“Oh, oh my, oh my…!”
Completely unaware of my panic, Mom suddenly jumped up and down excitedly and grabbed my arm.
“Son!”
“…Yes.”
“…You wanted to sleep together while talking with Mom?”
“Ah, no, that’s not exactly—”
“Aww, it’s fine. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about.”
She patted my backside again. I felt her slender fingers against my hip.
“Come on, then. Over here.”
“Ah, wait a second. Haa…”
She linked her arm with mine. …And I felt the soft, heavy press of her breasts.
“Hehe, hurry up.”
Still seated on the sofa, Mom patted the spot beside her with a couple of inviting fluffs.
“Whew…”
Sitting down obediently beside her was the best choice I could make.
