Chapter Title: Children Love Clan
-------------------------------------
The next morning.
Jeong Yoo-shin, Karin, and Armin were gathered at an inn table.
Empty wooden cups were flying around Jeong Yoo-shin.
Armin's eyes widened.
"Huh?! Skar-nim! D-Don't tell me you have the Telekinesis imprint?"
"That's right. Didn't you see it at the Central Plaza duel last time?"
"What do you mean by that?"
Jeong Yoo-shin explained briefly.
Armin immediately nodded.
"Ah! So that's why the golden Zweihänder fell from the sky?"
"Right. And Karin, can you prepare the exploration supplies? I need a large amount."
Karin tilted her head.
"A large amount?"
"I received a gift from the elf queen this time. It's a golden coffin called the Eternal Ark, a magic backpack-like item that can hold a lot of things."
"E-Eternal Ark?!"
Armin shouted and shot up from his seat.
"Why?"
"I-Isn't that a treasure of the high elves?"
A treasure?
He knew it was a great item.
Was it to the extent of being labelled a treasure even in a mage's eyes?
"You know it well?"
"Yes! Isn't it a subspace magic tool with a space that expands in proportion to the amount of the owner’s magic and spreads various buffs?!"
Correct.
Was it because he was from the Mage Tower?
"Do you know its weaknesses too?"
"Yes! It’s not as good as other treasures because if the coffin breaks, the contents inside are lost."
That was also correct.
Armin, who had been standing blankly for a moment, widened his eyes.
"S-Skar-nim! So it's true that you threatened the crown prince? Don't tell me you were going to put him in the coffin...? Huk!!!"
Jeong Yoo-shin tilted his head.
"I don't remember."
"Pardon...?"
"I said I don't remember."
"N-No. But that was only a week ago..."
"I said I don't remember, so why do you keep picking on me? Do you want to go back to the Mage Tower?"
"N-No! I'm sorry!"
"Karin, this coffin seems to have as large of a space as my room. Please prepare the necessary items. I have to interview party members today."
"Got it."
Karin stood up without a word and left the inn.
Jeong Yoo-shin looked at Armin. The boy still hadn't come to his senses.
"Armin, you must have things to prepare as a mage too. Are you just going to sit in the inn?"
"Yes! I understand!"
Armin also quickly left the inn.
Eru peeked his head out from the kitchen.
"Skar-nim, how are you controlling your lustful energy?"
"I'm handling it well. You should rest too."
"Alright."
Eru sat at a nearby table and opened a book.
Was it a book about sewing?
Jeong Yoo-shin didn't pay any more attention to Eru and closed his eyes.
A few days ago, Granny had contacted him.
A few people had applied for the party.
Who would come?
He hoped they were someone good.
◇◇◇◆◇◇◇
"Sir, why did you come here?"
Jeong Yoo-shin asked, his shoulders slumped.
In front of him sat a mole beast-person wearing glasses.
"Hehe. I just came to see our clan leader's face."
A good-natured reply.
"..."
Jeong Yoo-shin was at a loss for words.
"This old man has made some delicious candy."
Jeong Yoo-shin took the candy and bowed his head.
"Thank you. I'll enjoy it."
"I'm the one who's grateful. For protecting the people of the streets."
The mole beast-person squeezed Jeong Yoo-shin's hand once and then left the inn as if his business was finished.
He heard a giggling sound from the side.
When Jeong Yoo-shin glared, Eru flinched and lowered his head.
Jeong Yoo-shin used his [Telekinesis] ability to send a piece of candy to Eru.
"Have one. You can't study when your blood sugar is low."
"Thank you."
Jeong Yoo-shin and Eru sat in the inn, sucking on their candy while waiting.
The people who came were all pretty much the same.
"It's an honor! C-Can I have your autograph just once?"
"S-Skar-nim! I baked some delicious cookies this time, would you like to try one!"
By the time afternoon came, he hadn’t found any party members to his liking.
Jeong Yoo-shin stared blankly at the ceiling and then stood up.
"Eru, I'm going to the smithy for a bit."
"Alright."
Jeong Yoo-shin left the inn and walked toward the Western District.
His mind was a mess.
The labyrinth.
If he went past the 15th floor of the Swamp area…
From the 16th to the 20th floor, it was the Mountain area.
The characteristic of the Mountain area was the appearance of giant monsters.
Monsters like the wyvern or the twin-head ogre he had seen at the monster dismantler shop would appear there.
Was the problem his weapon?
He could stab their vital points with a sword like a longsword, but it would require a life-threatening stunt.
On top of that, giant monsters had hard bones and a lot of fat, so if he cut them a few times, his sword would become so dull that it would be unusable.
It was a problem that could be overcome if he used [Sacred Weapon], but it was difficult to use magic freely in the labyrinth.
Because he didn't know what would happen next.
Jeong Yoo-shin walked the streets with various thoughts and arrived at Boron's smithy.
"Boron, I'm here."
"Oh? You're here?"
Boron smiled from ear to ear and waved his hand.
"How's the equipment?"
"It's well prepared."
"Did something good happen?"
"There's a weapon that came out of the deep labyrinth this time."
"And?"
"The street blacksmiths collectively bought it for a large sum of money, but they couldn't find anyone who could use it."
Boron continued with a wide smile.
"When I was doing well, they came and nagged me every day, but when a good item comes out, they keep their mouths shut and buy it among themselves? Serves them right. Kuhuhu."
"What kind of weapon is it?"
"You can see for yourself. Follow me."
Boron shot up from his seat.
Jeong Yoo-shin scratched his head and left the smithy with Boron.
Not far away, a group of dwarves were grabbing each other by the collar and raising their voices.
"Let's just sell it to the underground workshop! They said that they'll buy it!"
"How much did we pay for it!? You bastard! We have to at least break even to avoid bankruptcy!"
A dwarf with a monocle grinned with his hands behind his back.
"That's right. You have to avoid bankruptcy. Our workshop will buy it."
A dwarf with a red face raised his voice.
"You're buying it for that price? We'll go bankrupt!"
"Don't be a baby. And you should have known your own abilities before buying the weapon. To just bite because it's expensive… Tsk."
"Kuuuk!!!"
At the monocled dwarf's words, the others made resentful expressions.
Jeong Yoo-shin approached them.
"What in the world is that weapon?"
The dwarves' heads shot up.
"A barbarian?"
"Ooh!"
The dwarves crawled over and clung to Jeong Yoo-shin's legs.
"H-Help us!"
"Please!"
"We'll sell it to you cheap!"
"Let's see what kind of weapon it is first."
The dwarves took Jeong Yoo-shin into a smithy.
There was no need to look for it.
Because it was placed right in a corner of the smithy.
At first, Jeong Yoo-shin thought it was a pillar.
Looking closely, it was a greatsword that seemed to be 2 meters long.
Its overall color was black.
The blade was so wide that a Zweihänder-like sword couldn't even compare to it.
"No. Why is this sword so ridiculously big?"
Jeong Yoo-shin muttered while staring blankly at the sword.
"They probably intended to melt it down and use it. As you can see, it's black, isn't it? They must have thought that they could get a large amount of expensive black iron."
The one-eyed dwarf said with a smile.
The dwarves, as if their sore spot had been hit, couldn't say anything.
"But it seems to be mixed with other minerals. The forges of the western street couldn't even heat it up, let alone melt it. But in my opinion, it can be melted with the furnace of the underground workshop."
The dwarves glared at the monocled dwarf.
"You should have at least paid a proper price for the black iron before telling us!"
"Didn't I say I'd buy it for 100 gold coins?"
"We bought this sword for 300 gold coins!"
"So are you going to keep that useless sword? Wouldn't it be right to sell it when you can? Good items are still coming out of the labyrinth, are you going to go bankrupt while holding on to that sword that brings no profit?"
"..."
The monocled dwarf's words flowed like a torrent.
The others kept their mouths shut.
They had nothing to say back.
Because it was true.
Jeong Yoo-shin looked at the giant black sword.
Was he lucky?
Or was it fate.
If he could wield this sword.
Wouldn't he be able to hunt large monsters with ease?
"How much is this sword?"
"300 gold coins."
"That seems a bit expensive. Let's make it 200 gold coins."
The monocled dwarf interjected with a reluctant expression.
"Master Skar, what in the world are you going to use that ridiculously large greatsword for? Our workshop will make you a good one. Please yield."
"By the way, what workshop is it?"
"The Jereus Workshop. It's located in the underground of the western street."
The Jereus Workshop's armaments are good.
The bastard sword and the repeating crossbow were also made in this workshop.
But…
He was greedy.
"I'll buy this one."
The monocled dwarf frowned.
"Don't tell me you think you can handle this greatsword? Do you know how many explorers have failed to lift it so far? There were many explorers who managed to lift it, but they all refused to buy it, saying it was impractical."
"I'll decide after swinging it once."
"Swing it? If you still want to buy it after you lift and swing that greatsword, I'll back down."
"Sure."
Jeong Yoo-shin grabbed the hilt of the greatsword.
It was cold.
"Hup!!!"
He put his strength into it.
It didn't budge.
Shit.
He looked around and saw the dwarves with tense expressions.
A faint sneer passed over the monocled dwarf's lips.
A vein popped on Jeong Yoo-shin's forehead.
You're laughing?
He got into a stance and drew out all the strength he had.
"Huuuuup!!!"
The hilt budged and then slowly went up.
"Huuuuuk!!!"
"Did he really lift it?! He's not an ogre!"
"Crazy barbarian!!!"
The dwarf blacksmiths' eyes widened as they shouted.
Boom!!!
The greatsword, gaining speed, was lifted up and broke through the smithy's ceiling.
The dwarves stared up at the ceiling, their mouths agape.
Jeong Yoo-shin took the greatsword and left the smithy.
When he came out to the street, numerous explorers and blacksmiths were staring at Jeong Yoo-shin with dazed expressions.
'Quickly. Quickly.'
If he was to drop the sword here, he would lose face.
Jeong Yoo-shin, who had quickly rushed out of the smithy, swung the greatsword.
From top to bottom.
Whoooooooosh!!!
The 2-meter black pillar tore through the air and embedded itself in the road.
Kra-booooooooom!!!
With a roar, the road exploded, and stone fragments flew high.
Jeong Yoo-shin quickly spread one hand.
[Eternal Ark]
Thud!!!
The golden coffin popped out of the air and fixed itself to the ground.
Jeong Yoo-shin quickly shoved the sword into the golden coffin.
'Go in!'
The greatsword quickly disappeared into the golden coffin.
The dwarves and explorers watched with bewildered expressions as the sword disappeared.
Jeong Yoo-shin lightly dusted off his clothes and looked at the dwarves.
"I'll buy it for 200 gold coins."
"Huh."
"But in installments."
"What?"
"If you don't want to, then don't."
"W-we'll sell it!"
The dwarves quickly nodded.
Boron looked up at Jeong Yoo-shin with a dazed expression.
"Skar, are you betraying me?"
"What do you mean by that? I'm a regular at Boron's smithy."
"That's right. Oh, I forgot. Hahaha."
"I'll be back later."
Jeong Yoo-shin left the dwarves, packed his repaired equipment, and returned to the inn.
He found himself humming.
Because it felt like he had finally spent the money he had earned properly.
It was ridiculously big, but if he handled it well, he would be able to take the head of a giant monster like a wyvern in one go.
Clunk.
He opened the inn door and went inside.
The party members, who had finished all their business, were gathered there and sitting.
Karin and Armin.
And one unfamiliar face.
He was a sturdy elf man, and he had a giant iron bow that was leaning next to the table which caught Jeong Yoo-shin’s eye.
The elf stood up and looked at Jeong Yoo-shin.
"Master Skar, I heard you're looking for an archer."
"That's right."
"Is there still a spot left?"
"There is. Who are you?"
"I am the intermediate-rank low explorer and the Children Love Clan leader, Kenneth Dehart."
Jeong Yoo-shin's eyes widened.
What did he say?
"D-Did I mishear? The... Children Love Clan?"
"That's right. The Children Love Clan."
The elf nodded with a serious expression.

Translator Announcement (2/16/26):
Sorry for being gone for so long guys. I got into a boating accident last month and was hospitalized. I only got discharged last week and just recently got myself a replacement for my phone. But I’m okay now, and I’ll continue translating this novel.
A few things I wanna say though:
-I’ll be adjusting my schedule for unlocking free chapters to every MWF, so 3 times a week. I’ll still post new chapters daily though, so feel free to read in advance and support me at the same time. I’ll also be lowering the price of the chapters to 60 compared to the previous website.
-For the people who were also reading the other novel I was translating, “I became the terminally ill character in my friend’s academy novel”, I’m sorry to say that I’ll be dropping it from now on. I was already thinking about dropping it last month before the accident, but now, I can only focus on translating one novel at the moment, so I’m axing the Academy novel. I feel like translating it is no longer worth the effort I put in, especially when it’s the more difficult to translate of the 2 novels I handle.
So yeah, I hope you guys can continue to support me even though I was gone for a while. Especially when I can only work on this novel for now as I’m easing myself into translation work again. Though I’ll be looking for a couple more novels to work on by next month, when I’m hopefully feeling a bit better, so feel free to give me your suggestions on discord. Something in the lines of this novel, and not too many chapters already translated if it had been dropped before. Ciao.

T/N - Lol, so this clan actually existed. I still remember that lover of children chapter title. Looks like fantasy FBI will be going after the MC now. 😂
Also, damn. If that sword isn’t a Berserk reference, I’ll eat my shorts. MC can barely lift it though, so he ain’t at that level yet, but a barbarian and a giant sword seems like a match made in heaven.
