Chapter: 1
Chapter Title: Prologue

I never imagined the author of a novel I'd been enjoying would hit me with such a gut punch.
The novel Academy's Peerless Divine Sword. It's the story of a protagonist who awakens the "Divine Sword" ability from rock bottom in a Korea where a hunter world exists, grows through the academy, and ultimately becomes an S-rank hunter whose name echoes across the nation.
And its sequel, Academy's Divine Sword Legend. A new protagonist is granted the Divine Sword by a constellation and grows through the academy.
It was mass-produced fare, sure, but damn if it wasn't entertaining in its own way.
Except for one thing.
"What the hell is the point of this heroine?"
Yoo Eun-ha, one of the heroines in Divine Sword Legend.
The younger sister of the previous work's protagonist, Yoo Jin-seok. She'd spent years being compared to him, turning into a total shut-in. Then she gets a recommendation letter for the academy and is half-forced to enroll at Hansung Academy, the main stage of the game.
But the problem is, Yoo Eun-ha's backstory is a total mess.
Growing up constantly compared to her brother left her twisted and bitter. She starts smoking, gets piercings in her ears and all over her body, venting her resentment at the world.
At first glance, it looks like the protagonist will pull this delinquent girl out of her shell, redeem her, and elevate her to heroine status. But nope. Reality is different.
"Sorry... this is as far as I go."
"No, you won't die! You can survive this!"
"If only I'd realized a little sooner..."
Anyone reading that would think she went out heroically battling monsters. But no—in the middle of the protagonist fighting villains who infiltrated the academy, she just happens to pass by at the wrong moment, takes a hit, and dies with her solar plexus pierced clean through.
And yet they kept her as a heroine? What the fuck?
She even had a pretty decent ability slotted in, enough to get readers hopeful and sinking coins into her as the main girl.
I was slaving away as a drone for Black Corporation Korea, and reading webnovels after work was my one joy in life. But this pissed me off so bad that my neck burned hot as I fired off a question.
What the actual fuck? What's the reason for killing off Yoo Eun-ha?
Had too many heroines, so I tried trimming one down lol ;;
Lol ;;? Lol ;;?!
That motherfucker thinks this is funny.
I was already fuming from dealing with my boss, and that half-assed reply pushed me over the edge. I unloaded every curse word in the book, lawsuits be damned, in a massive rant.
Hey, reader. Try writing a story yourself—you'd get it. With a dozen heroines, you gotta cut some to fit them all in.
Fuck that. Then don't make them heroines in the first place.
I was about to fire off another barrage of curses when the author bastard dropped one more comment.
The ability I gave her does feel wasted, yeah. Want to take a shot at it yourself?
"What the hell? No thanks."
Better than your current shitshow of a life, right?
"Oh, now that's tempting. Wait, who the fuck said my life's a shitshow?! Hey, hold up—I'm speaking out loud here, so why are you replying in messages?"
As you wish, then.
"No, fuck—wait..."
With those words, my computer suddenly let out a bang.
In that instant, my vision started darkening as my consciousness sank away.
