Parasite α (6): Forging a Holy Paladin
Chuuup, chuuup.
"Hiiiii♥"
I latched onto the back of Sylvia's neck, thrusting the tube from my maw into her flesh and sucking out her personality. She resisted fiercely at first, but once Rena and Ray clung to her, teasing her nipples and pussy, she showed an opening. I didn't miss it, injecting decomposition fluid straight into her mind.
The decomposition fluid is basically like digestive enzymes—it melts the mind into a gooey mush, making it easy to consume. From the reactions of previous hosts, it seems to flood the brain with a massive dose of drug-like ecstasy in an instant, shattering any resistance or coherent thought.
Sylvia's personality had a bitter, astringent taste. From what I could glean, she'd had a rough life. Born an orphan, wandering slums, kidnapped and sold into slavery at a black market. Worked to the bone in that mansion, nearly raped by the master. Barely escaped, only to have a bounty on her head, living on thin ice as hunters stalked her every day.
But that hell forged her skills in stealth, infiltration, detection—essential thief traits—and she had a knack for swordplay too. Once she started adventuring, her levels shot up. Her first player kill? Labyrinth hunters who came for her bounty. Turns out her own party had lured her to a secluded spot to murder her from the start—bounty hunters through and through.
After that betrayal, Sylvia trusted no one, her distrust twisting into outright hatred for people, leading her to commit crimes without hesitation... Something like that, anyway.
"Spare me... I'll do anything... I don't want to die..."
Sylvia's original self muttered faintly. Surprising, since I'd already drained her personality clean. Her eyes were hollow voids, yet tears welled up as she begged. Probably instinct from a lifetime of threats—etched so deep it slipped out unconsciously.
Still...
What a waste.
I checked Sylvia's detailed status and sighed inwardly. In this world, thief classes aren't that useful to begin with. Their party utility—lockpicking, trap disarming, enemy detection—is easily replaced. Buy tools for locks and traps; priests or mages handle detection. Stealth only shines solo. For DPS, archers or mages dominate; for utility, bards or enchanter buffer trees are far better.
Her one edge, sky-high level from hardship? I'd drained it with Level Drain, leaving her no stronger than Rena or Ray. Downleveled gear became unusable, and her best skills grayed out.
At this point, with only one party slot left, why bother recruiting her?
Logically, killing her makes sense. She attacked first, tried to steal our loot like some fisherman's profit. No reason to go easy. But hearing her sob story—she was good deep down—it's kinda pitiful.
Maybe...
Among my skills as Parasite α, there's Personality Reset. Sounds fancy, but it's just a common game feature: reallocating stats, class, and skill points. Normally a cash shop item, but I get it free! Good or bad? Original cash items are treated like artifacts or legendaries here, so probably good.
Perfect timing—we needed a tank. Dark elves have innate magic resistance; can't go wrong. Physical defense is gear-boostable, but magic resist? Only from stats or rare options on magic-grade+ items.
Plus, despite her life, her base stats (excluding level-ups) shone in Luck and Vitality. Luck seems useless but is gold for tanks—slashes crit chance, evasion per point is triple Agility's efficiency. Even boosts rare gear drops party-wide.
Done deal: tank it is.
Personality Reset
My mouth worked like a cow chewing cud, regurgitating the meal. Honestly, in that moment, even I thought I looked kinda cute.
Final build: Holy Knight. Dark elf stats—low Strength, high Agility/Intellect—fit better than warrior.
"Hit♥ Ahht♥"
As I injected the reset personality via the tube in my tail, Sylvia shuddered with shrill moans. A holy cross emblem glowed on her lower belly. Weird spot, but it settled fine.
Job done, I detached from Sylvia and returned to the lich body. Regaining consciousness, her former arrogance vanished; she smiled serenely, hands clasped in prayer as she gazed at us three.
"Sisters...♥ And Holy Father...♥"
Seems I'm "Holy Father" to her.
"Thank you for remaking me. I, Sylvia, swear to be your sturdy shield, Holy Father. And yours too."
Sylvia smiled kindly, stroking the heads of the golden-haired elves suckling her nipples. She gave off big-sis vibes—tallest, most mature-looking.
Anyway, four-man party complete.
We gathered the loot and headed to turn in the quest. Disguised as humans, we delivered the red-haired warrior with the amnesia curse to the noble client. I proposed adding a love curse for her to fall for him, asking extra pay—he agreed readily.
I pocketed the base 3000G plus 2000G bonus, then brainwashed the warrior with black magic to adore the noble.
"Holy Father's magic turned hatred to love, making everyone happy. Ahh... so romantic♥"
On the way back, Sylvia murmured dreamily. What a flower field in her head. But strip the details, and yeah, kinda true. 1% truth-flavored, anyway.
Next, Poly Market to sell loot. Auctioned Sylvia's old gear—unique-grade standouts, should fetch hundreds of thousands G.
"You bastard... still alive?!"
Ran into a familiar face—the guy who'd offered to buy Rena and Ray last time. Spotting the scantily clad silver-haired dark elf glued to my side, he yelled.
"You smug prick, said you'd handle it quick—did you betray me?!"
Sylvia scoffed.
"Betray? I merely shed my ignorant past self. Holy Father's baptism awakened my true self."
She caressed the cross etched beneath her chocolate-smooth skin.
"I'm Holy Father's apostle. Betraying Him? Unthinkable. Thus, I reject your offers, no matter the gold. I'll stay by His side."
The bounty-hunter's face twisted in horror.
"Mind control...? But she wasn't the type to fall easy...!"
Too annoying to explain. Simplest solution.
"Bloodsucking Authority."
I pointed at him, invoking the app power. Lich perk—no staff or gestures needed for spells. App powers work sans rituals too.
Bloodsucking Authority
His expression blanked.
Poly Market bans magic/attacks. Guards watch, mana detectors chime alarms. Retaliating undetected? Normally impossible. But app spells cost no mana—no detection.
Safe bet.
"Transfer all your assets to the place I specify. Then swiftly suicide—cleanly, no traces. Complete by today."
I implanted the command. First kill via this power. But lich possession? Revenge on a would-be murderer? No guilt.
"...Understood."
He answered blankly.
Handled, I hit the Poly Market auction. Periodic event for pricey gear, rare items galore. Minimum unique-grade; true treasures.
Most from dead adventurers—looted corpses or kills. Famous gear means famous owners—hard to sell topside. Hence, illegal haven.
My lots: Sylvia's twin daggers (Legendary Legender), Widow and Sorrow set—sold for 180k G total. After fees, ~160k in pocket.
Nice haul. Spent it all on solid auction gear—including for Sylvia, now Holy Knight sans fitting kit.
Bidding high drew eyes. Some predatory stares. Fine if they attack—scanned the room, no high-level threats. My level? Over 60 now.
"Final item: Legendary Disguise Necklace. Bidding starts at 30k G."
Disguise Necklace. Lets you transform into other races/beasts. Useful. Gear skills are prized—treated separate from magic, like app powers.
Magic gets countered by Magic Detection or Insight. Monsters disguised as humans can't enter key spots—mana detectors everywhere.
Item skills? Different story.
"80k G. No higher bids?"
Price skyrocketed amid the criminals' frenzy.
I raised my hand.
"150k G."
Auction hushed.
"150k G bid. Higher?"
Stunned silence. No takers.
"Sold for 150k G. Congratulations."
...Shoulda bid 100k.
Regret hit late.
