Prologue: The Heroine App
I was fiddling with my phone like always. The reason was obvious: boredom. There was nothing to do in the first place, and the weather was insanely hot. It was the perfect day to crank the air conditioner and fan to full blast and just roll around in bed.
“Ah. Isn’t there any game worth playing?”
I stared blankly at my phone before opening the app store. The popularity charts were full of titles I’d already finished. Hmm. Maybe I should browse the new releases instead.
I tapped into the list of recently added applications. As I scrolled down, one app with a distinctly unusual vibe caught my eye.
“Heroine App?”
It had a simple design—a white background with a heart-shaped icon. I unconsciously read the name aloud, then tapped it out of pure curiosity. It didn’t look like a game, yet something about the app itself pulled at me with surprising strength.
“What?”
I had only tapped the icon, yet the download began on its own. Well… must be a glitch.
I kept staring at the screen in a daze. I had originally planned to read the description first, but on second thought, the fastest way to figure out what the app actually was would be to just run it. So I waited quietly for the download to finish.
Installation finished. Might as well open it. When I returned to the home screen, a new heart-shaped icon had appeared. I tapped it.
