#33. Yeah, Let's Do Well
#33. Yeah, Let's Do Well
<Lee Hana>
Let's go back to early March from Hana's perspective.
"Hmm. Hmmm. Hmmmm."
Lately, she felt fucking isolated.
Hana couldn't shake the feeling of being sidelined at home recently.
"Mom, where are you and Ina going?"
"Obstetrics and Gynecology."
"Hmmph!"
Well, that couldn't be helped. She never imagined her little sister would get married and pregnant before her. And with my friend, no less!
"Heh heh hmm. Heh heh heh hmm."
She racked her brain nonstop thinking about whatever it was that wouldn't go away, but of course, no answers came.
After that too—,
"Mom~! Where are you~?"
—In Ina's room~.
She spent a ton of time in Ina's room.
"What are you doing?"
"Studying~. Teaching her some wifely duties as a side thing."
"Ughhhh."
She remembered the last time when they did a massive deep clean under the guise of teaching housework.
If she got married, would she have to use marriage as an excuse for a deep clean too? Kinda scary.
"What kind of studying?"
"What do you think?"
"I'm not kidding. Wanna die?"
"......Ah, what do you think."
That girl always had to one-up her.
"Not gonna tell me?"
"Since she's pregnant, teaching her what to be careful about and what she has to do. Hey, sis, don't come in! Don't hit me! Mommm!"
Hana ignored the mom-summoning skill like always—but.
Smack—!
A strong spike hit her back.
"Hana, you bully! Your sister's pregnant, and you're trying to hit her?"
"Ow! Ah, it hurts~!"
Pregnancy was definitely a cheat key.
Even at meals, Dad and Mom took care of Ina first.
"Daughter, what do you want to eat?"
"Me, galbi jjim."
"I'll make it, so give some to In-mok too. He likes galbi jjim, right?"
"Mm-hmm."
She chewed on her chopsticks and rolled her eyes, scanning the family.
"Dad. Aren't you being too overprotective?"
"What? She's pregnant. Gotta take care of her."
"Ughhhh."
Dad was always like that anyway—good things were good, no questions asked—so no resolving that doubt.
"Mom. Why do you keep taking care of In-mok when he doesn't even come over that often?"
"He comes over plenty."
"Huh?"
Turns out he visited often without her knowing, leaving little gifts each time.
He was working at a convenience store part-time, so nothing big—just fruits or drink sets, stuff like that.
"Wh-when?"
"Every time he dates Mom and drops her off."
"He's still doing that?"
Mom used to worry he was some weird guy, but now she totally trusted him.
"Did you see the heated ventilated seats in Dad's car? In-mok bought those this time."
"Ah. He never spends a dime when he's with us."
"Isn't that just so upstanding? Only spends on family."
"I'm family too now~! Your sister-in-law~!"
So she decided to confront In-mok directly.
"Heyyy~! When the hell did you come and go from our house?"
"Huh? You're never home when I do."
In-mok tilted his head with that clueless face. Kyaa~. Look at that innocent mug.
But she wasn't falling for it.
"Didn't you get socks from me recently?"
"Huh? How'd you know?"
"I bought them. Was gonna give gifts to the family, figured we'd eat dinner together too. But you weren't around? Heard you're out playing with Do-jin all the time lately."
Heh heh heh hmm.
Do-jin had just been discharged, so they were making up for all the lost time.
"You're home less than a week total. Mother-in-law and father-in-law are worried."
"Ugh. Goosebumps!"
Calling her parents mother-in-law and father-in-law? So cringey.
But she couldn't resist teasing.
"From now on, call me sister-in-law, In-mok."
"What're you talking about."
She pretended to be mad at his half-assed reply.
"Hey! Showing that cheeky attitude to your sister-in-law? You really wanna see this Confucian girl's wrath?"
"......"
He gave her that what-the-hell look, and she felt a slight reality check hit.
"Ahem."
"And you're going to the Spring Festival early April, right?"
"Huh? Yeah."
How'd she know that?
"I set that up for you."
"You got money for that?"
"I worked part-time."
At a convenience store?
"Yeah, pretty much blew it all. You guys and our family covered wedding costs."
Come to think of it, she remembered her parents being super busy in February.
Scouting venues, taking Ina around to greet relatives. She skipped it 'cause it was a hassle.
Was that why?
"Dad handled the venue and parents' outfits, and your parents covered our honeymoon."
"Hmm."
More of that, huh.
"But she's pregnant—can she fly?"
She asked innocently and got a pitiful look.
"What, dude."
"Of course not. Can't even go to Jeju. So we switched to a Seoul trip."
"Huh?"
Seoul trip? They lived in Seoul—honeymoon in Seoul?
Couldn't picture it.
"Already booked with a travel agency."
"Huh?"
Seriously couldn't picture it. Seoul honeymoon was weird enough, but a guided Seoul tour?
"Wedding's in May, so can't go anywhere real. Ina's five months by then."
"Ti-time flies that fast?"
Hana scratched her cheek. Kinda embarrassing.
In case of any issues, they could hit a hospital quick—that's why Seoul honeymoon.
Gyeongju or Jeonju? Sure. But Seoul?
Hana gave up thinking.
"So what about Do-jin? You two were glued together after Start of Semester."
"Ah~. He went off to be Cyber PR Ambassador."
In-mok tilted his head, and Hana smugly explained.
"Do-jin's got that look now. Fucking handsome as hell."
"Ah ha."
He got it right away—made her proud.
"So you're too ugly, that's why not?"
"You little shit?"
Classic lifelong rival, striking back instantly.
"So hang out with your sister-in-law a bit. Let's grab cafeteria grub."
Same department, same year, and her chill personality meshed well with the guy classmates.
No reason to suck up to guys anyway.
Three years with Do-jin—they were used to each other, knew personalities, built trust.
Plus, Do-jin fell for her pretty-but-chill vibe from the start.
"But seriously, how'd you two meet?"
"New Year's Day, in the car."
"Heh hmm. Even harder to believe."
Started dating January 1st? Love at first sight that day?
Did that even make sense?
But they were going strong, so maybe.
"You're dating Mom too, right?"
She shoveled bibimbap like it was at home and asked.
Truth was, this was what Hana was most curious about. What the hell kinda dates with Mom?
She knew in-laws got along sometimes—her feed showed cute teasing couples, made her smile and think she'd do that too.
Just never thought it'd be her friend and her mom.
"She was anxious at first, so I recreated the exact dates with Ina to show her."
"Wha? Like what?"
"Escape Room, aquarium, Lotte Tower—top floor too."
Fucking tons. Looked fun.
"But Mom hates scary stuff—wouldn't she bail?"
"She still did it?"
"You must've been fucking anxious. For her to go that far."
In-mok grinned sheepishly at Hana's words. Kid had some diligent side, at least.
Look at him now—800-won rice bowl with free egg soup and kimchi.
Sure, he paid when they hung out, so no complaints.
"You saved up and blew it all now, huh?"
"Yeah, gotta save money."
Unchanged from 20—respect-worthy.
"What after food?"
"Thinking library. Midterms in April."
"Huh? Already prepping that?"
His mindset was different, alright.
Not even late March yet?
"Nah, finish assignments first."
"Whoa. You're impressive too."
Lately Jinhyung and the guys were flipping out—clubbing, mixers.
Perks of married life?
"But why not?"
"Nothing to do? Hang with me."
"Hm?"
What was that face. In-mok, that dead-inside look—what?
"Karaoke?"
"Yeah."
"Then drinks after?"
"Yeah."
How'd she know?
"You've used that line tons already."
"When?"
"At 20. While waiting for Do-jin, nothing to do, so you use me."
"Gasp. How long you known?"
Impressive bastard.
Sister-in-law fail. Time to seduce somehow.
"C'mon. Sis buys karaoke."
"You chug like a barrel and I buy drinks?"
"Fuck off."
Then what till Do-jin showed?
Nothing to do.
"Library. There's a lounge out back—manga club too."
"Oh. Maybe."
Sounded decent for killing time.
§
Gotta do assignments early. Not 'cause I'm diligent—time just runs out otherwise.
Weekends and three weekdays: evening shifts at the convenience store.
Free days: 'Sex Education' slots. Skip now, future me dies. 100% sure.
<Leave future shit to future me> skill? Used it tons—nearly died each time.
Still, healing when Ina slept over sometimes.
Pregnant, so boiler cranked higher—sweaty just lying there.
Like in the chat with Hana, squeezed in family care whenever.
My #Hashtag Gallery strategy too.
└Focus on each character, tend to side NPCs—hashtags stick better
Posted that, but fucking crickets.
Short and lazy post, sure—but no real extras beyond standard guides.
So yeah, doting on Ina and Suyeon's circle in spare time.
Like visiting her rehearsal tour daily.
Frequent family visits, steady fruits/gifts. Suyeon there too—efficient.
Spring Festival hotel booking.
Small stuff piled up, but big ones those. Avoids ironclad bad ends later.
Playables warm up weirdly too.
Neutral NPCs shift slightly positive.
Free time tightened post-Start of Semester. Schedule packed—make shift time count.
Next month worse—midterms plus assignments? GPA fucked.
Weekend: Ina at Freshman OT. Suyeon: three days studying me more.
Done, Monday.
"Hm?"
Ina slept over last night, walked to school together—but stares felt off.
"Inayaaa~. Hi~."
"Ah! Seung-hee!"
Everyone passing greeted Ina.
What? What happened in three days? Why's she suddenly popular?
And...
Stares at me weird too.
"Hi~."
"Yup, hi~."
They greet, I bow back—but all side-eyeing.
Fuck what. No clue.
"Sunbae. Sorry~."
"Uh, yeah? For what?"
Did I... do something?
"I said I have a boyfriend~."
"Yeah? Uh, yeah. That's our Contract."
But their looks weren't buying it—unsettling.
"Said I have a baby too."
"Th-that'll come out eventually."
Even knowing pregnancy, they wouldn't eye like that.
"Said first one then straight to second. Want third and fourth too~."
"Huh?"
"My boyfriend's so great, wanna have like ten~."
"Huh?"
Uh? Well, yeah. That explains the reactions.
"Talent show—guys hounding for numbers, dates all three days. Last day, talent show mic so everyone hears."
"Wha...t?"
Reactions said not just "wanna have lotsa babies."
Then Ina's friend showed a video.
- I! Have a boyfriend! Boyfriend says keep having babies so I gotta! Gonna have 'em! Second right after, probably ten total—so no numbers!
Huh? Wait.
Something wrong?
"I said keep having babies...?"
My head creaked like broken machinery toward Ina.
"Yeah, girlfriend takes boyfriend's cum inside whenever he wants. If pregnant, birth it—that's girlfriend duty. You said. Remember good?"
"Uh yeah. But why..."
Why mash-up sounds so brutal and vicious?
Makes it seem like...
I'm forcing endless babies—just birth 'em.
Suck—well, true-ish. Not wrong. But... at Freshman OT?
"Professors were there?"
"Yup."
"Upperclassmen for OT support, TAs too, right?"
"Yup."
Screamed into mic onstage...
"Hm. Aha."
Fucked.
"Good job, sunbae. No one approached that night. Had ultrasound pics ready. Our cute baby."
Showing pics first might've helped?
Nah—concluded in a second. That opener already nuked, rest worse.
- So gonna have 'em!
Ina's 20. Freshman. Young. Babyface. High school virgin till last year.
Totals: 23-year-old brainwashed pure kid.
Term for it: Gaslighting.
"Anyone say shit after?"
"Huh? Ah~. Asked boyfriend's name, department, year~."
Blank moment—someone called.
"Heyyy! Gwak In-mok!"
"......Yup?"
Department Head storming over, max rage face obvious.
"Department Head office—now! Punk!"
"Yup!"
Ina tilted head, sensing weirdness.
"Why?"
Not <#Excellent Dexterity>, she got <#Airheadedness> passive?
"Th-that... outside, sounds like I'm the bad guy. Who tells girlfriend 'just pop out babies forever' normally?"
"Ah. Ah. You trained me so hard......"
Kinda got it.
Talent show—tons of guys eyed her, swarmed obvious.
Passing dudes cling, same-year crazier.
She must've been hounded. Last night blowup? Held it in till then.
"But good job. No guys sticking now."
"Hing. Sorry."
Patted her head, resolute.
"Gonna clear it up first."
Then nearly an hour grilled—ears bleeding? Verbal beatdown.
Other profs too—sweated explaining.
Dragged Ina for confrontation. Scary old folks.
Finally got they understood her slip-up, sighed relief.
Nearly disciplinary committee.
"Sorryyy! Boys swarmed girls' floor daily, held it till last night—snapped."
Profs knew vibe, nodded quick.
TAs on floor testified—I cleared false charges.
- You two love each other, right?
- Yup.
- Yeah, let's do well.
Cool send-off at end.
