Moving Day
I gestured for the black-clad man and the key guy to come down and start gathering the spoils.
Their weapons. The bags they hadn’t taken. Bows and arrows. We had quite the haul.
The only wounds I had were two arrows and a few tiny ones. Of course, two arrows in the normal world would have been deadly. I’d taped up the holes in my body and they were already sealing shut.
I’d thought this was going to be dangerous, but the ambush had worked like a charm. And being able to fire the crossbow from the safe distance had been the real deciding factor.

Most of those kills had been me finishing them off, so I got the 16.
“Grab all this loot. Keep watch from inside. I’m tracking the bastards and making sure they’re dead.”
“Hyung-nim, going alone? That’s too risky.”
“Just scouting. I’m safer by myself. They might come back, so stay sharp.”
I slung my bow over my shoulder, crossbow in hand, and sprinted toward the direction the bastards had run.
I’d deliberately left the leg-injured one behind on purpose.
A moment later, there he was—limping along, barely keeping his feet. Not even a real army unit would bother carrying an injured comrade.
The guy was slowing down fast from blood loss. Still, he dug a bottle of water from his waist, took a long swallow, and kept walking like he had something left to lose.
Tracking the injured one was stupidly easy. They’d have to focus every last bit of attention on their own pain. He eventually disappeared into a building.
It was a residential-commercial apartment complex, maybe fifteen minutes away. Was this their base?
Two guys came running out from inside and helped the injured one through the door.
How big were these bastards…? Hard to say from the outside.
I hesitated a second, then headed for the building across the street. If I could get up there, I might catch a glimpse of the inside.
It looked like an office building—no residents around. Still, I moved cautiously.
I climbed five floors, found the window, and started watching the complex below through my phone camera zoom. The windows were too dark inside to see clearly, but the silhouettes of people moved now and then.
Then a window slid open and several men crowded around to light cigarettes. Now I could actually see inside.
The moment the first guy started smoking, another window opened and a different group joined in.
There were dozens of people inside at least. Why the hell were they all gathered like this? Meeting?
Suddenly a group of people—another thirty or so—walked into the building from outside.
Thirty men leaving was clearly a team. Adding the people from other floors, there had to be at least a hundred.
…If these people started planning and came after our villa again, this ambush trick wouldn’t work. It’d be a straight-up fight.
I left my spot right away and hurried back to the villa.

“Their numbers are huge. If they come back, there’s no answer for us. We need to move house.”
The black-clad man and the key guy both nodded without a word.
“Anyone who wants to go their own way can head out right now. I’ll share out all the food we’ve got.”
“I’m going with you. I can tell you’re superhuman just by looking at you. You heal up instantly even after getting hurt.”
The black-clad man answered first, grinning.
“Me too. The life we’re living now is actually pretty satisfying.”
The key guy jumped in.
“Hyung-nim, can we really just fuck any woman we want?”
“That’s part of the important stuff too.. hehe…”
The key guy smiled shyly, letting his real feelings slip out.
“Good. Pack every weapon and bit of food. Stuff the heavy water and gear in the carriers.”
I called all the women over. Jiljinnyeo, Pilates girl, and the fitness girl.
“We’re moving out of here. If those bastards attack again, it’s over. Anyone who wants to go their separate way is free to leave. Fitness girl, if you want, I’ll give you food and let you go.”
“Of course I’m coming with you, oppa.”
Jiljinnyeo stuck to my arm like glue.
“I… I want to go too. Thanks to you guys, I’ve been safe so far…”
Pilates girl lowered her head carefully. She clearly didn’t want to admit yet that she’d survived by selling her body. That was fine. I hadn’t given her any room to be my girlfriend, so this strict trade of food and safety suited us both.
“Please take me too…”
The fitness girl spoke quietly. Surprisingly.
“You’re about to escape the meat grinder, right?”
“For me… there’s no choice… If I’m left behind here alone, I’ll just starve… or get dragged back and tortured by those other bastards…”
She wasn’t being tortured to death. They hadn’t raped or abused her. The black-clad man and key guy had beaten her hard, but they’d clearly taken care of her.
Still, I respected everyone’s choice. If they were dumb, they could just leave. But even the smart ones had to understand that the odds of surviving alone were terrible.
“Yeah, good thinking. That’s the wise choice.”
I told everyone to pack their bags.
Carrying a ton of supplies while on the move was insanely dangerous.
We had fewer people and a lot of women with noticeable figures. This was a life-or-death march.
Not far away was a small apartment complex. An old, rundown place with only three buildings normally, so it wouldn’t stand out.
It had to be close, spacious enough to live in, and with a lot of units so we could hide easily.
It was a fifteen-minute walk. I could make it in five if I ran.
While everyone packed, I scouted the area with my weapons. If a big force had already moved in, we’d have to keep going.
We moved at a steady pace, scanning buildings and streets. Any ambush while carrying heavy loads would be a disaster.
We reached the apartment in no time. The outside was dead quiet. The outer wall had a crude sign painted in block letters: Geumseon Apartments.
If there were big forces around, we’d have heard gunshots, but the whole complex was unnaturally silent.
My target building was on the third floor. Third floor was easy to climb and defend. I picked one entire building, climbed the stairs, and listened at every door in the hallway—nothing.
From the other buildings I could hear occasional small voices, but nothing big. Just regular residents. Probably some empty or dead apartments too.
I chose my new house, rushed back to the villa, and found everything already packed.
Everyone had a massive backpack on their back, men carrying weapons, women dragging carriers. We were carrying everything we owned.
The carriers had been a lifesaver. We’d managed to fit all the food we’d collected into the bags. Whether we had money or not, overseas travel always required carriers, so they were everywhere.
The women had stacked the maximum they could—backpacks, carriers, even bags on top of carriers. It was heavy, but everyone moved without complaining because it was for their lives.
Fifteen minutes. With this pace, it was more like twenty.
As we left the villa complex, people suddenly approached from the side.
A middle-aged couple. Skinny enough to look like skeletons, both body and face.
“F-food…”
They walked toward us with the weird, zombie-like gait of beggars.
“Hy-hyung…”
The black-clad man turned to look at me.
“Step back. If you come any closer, I’ll shoot.”
I told the group to keep moving and aimed the crossbow at the approaching pair.
“How long have you been starving… I don’t even remember anymore… please…”
Would sharing food even help? How long could they actually survive?
“Die from an arrow or starve… it’s the same thing…”
The middle-aged man kept coming despite my threat.
— *Thump!*
The crossbow fired. The man hit in the chest collapsed like a sack of potatoes.
I left the dead man and the middle-aged woman crying silently behind me and kept walking.

**[Super Regeneration: 33]**
We arrived at our target apartment without any trouble. It was an old building with few floors. Even in Seoul, an apartment like this might be around ten billion won. That price no longer mattered. If you had power, you just took it.
I’d thought I’d live in a Seoul apartment someday, but this had happened way faster than I expected.
I emptied the bags in the lobby of the building I’d scouted and told the black-clad man to guard the supplies. Then the key guy and I climbed to the third floor.
The key guy unlocked the door and I slipped inside carefully.
It was empty. A little messy, no food left. Didn’t matter. As long as it was clean.
The building had two units per floor.
The apartment across the hall—the key guy unlocked and we went in.
It was a mess, filthy. The kitchen cabinets were all open and empty. Looted.
I stepped into the bedroom and froze.
In the corner, a middle-aged man and woman were tied up and dead. On the bed lay a naked young woman, dead too.
The middle-aged pair had large stab wounds. The young woman had lost a lot of blood from her wrists—suicide, most likely.
Had the looters raped her and then killed them in front of her parents? Or had they killed her parents first and raped her in front of her? Either way, it was horrifying.
I told everyone carrying supplies to bring it up.
I moved into the clean apartment and stored all the food.
I decided the key guy, black-clad man, and fitness girl would stay in the opposite unit. Jiljinnyeo and I would each have a room in my building.
I’d thought about living alone, but spending time by myself in a room wasn’t fun. Two women around sounded better.
It was easier to cook and it was easier to fuck. Plus, women were less likely to smell bad than men.
Everyone was startled when they saw the bodies. The men just looked shocked, but the women cried and looked sad. Honestly, it was a relief that they’d escaped that fate.
Cleaning up the bodies was simple. Just throw them out the balcony window and cover the ones that fell in the yard with dirt.
Because I’d killed sixteen and Super Regeneration had grown a lot, my arrow wounds had closed nicely. Small holes, but the skin was already knitting and I could move without any real trouble.
I told the women to keep making bolts. The wood furniture was everywhere, so the material was no problem.
They didn’t have to be perfect, but they had to be straight and true. Mess up and there’d be no food rations. Simple orders.
I went into Pilates girl’s room after everyone had a short break.
She was sitting on the bed when I walked in, then stood up. She’d switched from leggings to jeans. Even in jeans she still showed off her body nicely.
