Chapter 266: Postscript to Part 2 Finale
Postscript to the Green Skin Part 2 Finale!
First of all, thank you all so much for trusting in Green Skin and following along with me until now. And I'm so sorry for the three-chapter update tease! While many of you dropped off and I got a lot of flak for it being a "dragon's head, snake's tail" over nearly 260 chapters, personally, I'm incredibly proud. I feel really good, but also a bit bittersweet. And there are many parts I regret.
This was the end of Part 2 as I had envisioned it. I actually considered a scenario where the Sword Saint, Ha Yuri, escaped this battlefield, but I decided it was best to conclude the story here. I thought too long a war scene might exhaust many readers. And I, too, was feeling a bit worn out.
I think I managed to wrap it up well, somehow. Phew....
I'm pretty proud of myself, in my own way. For now, like I did with Part 1, I'll bring up a few good questions and start a Q&A with myself!
[ When does Part 3 begin? What will be the main content of Part 3? ]
Many people were wondering if this was the end. Perhaps many of you even thought it might be better to end it here! However, since I had to collect all the plot threads I'd scattered, I decided to start Part 3.
Part 3 will likely begin tomorrow. As mentioned in the epilogue, the Continent will undergo massive changes. I believe those of you who are quick-witted will know what's coming. You definitely will!
The main purpose of Part 3 will likely be the story of Blood Dagger, having lost his goal, searching for a new one, and experiencing a slightly expanded worldview. Additionally, the period for redefining the Continent's relationships and settling the aftermath of today's battle will probably be quite long.
Although the war ended quickly, its scale was immense, and an unprecedented human-Green Skin alliance was formed, so it will likely have a direct impact on Green Skin society! Please look forward to it!
[ Why did you kill Ragia? ]
The question many of you are most curious about: Why did I kill Ragia? Honestly, I was just thinking that there needed to be a sacrifice within the Blood Dagger Clan. I also thought it was a crucial part for Blood Dagger's new awakening. After searching, the suitable woman I found was Ragia.
Speaking of her death, Ragia was a character who only knew herself. Then she achieved some inner growth and began to act for Blood Dagger's sake. Many of you thought it was a meaningless death, but personally, I was so attached to her, and after killing Ragia, I too suffered from the aftereffects; it was incredibly difficult.
An author isn't a demon who kills characters! It's really hard for me too. Sigh, this humble writer.
[ Is the Queen of the North a heroine? Yes or no? ]
I think I need to consider this part a bit more. Actually, the Queen of the North was designed as an eternal rival. But as she became more popular than expected and many readers wanted her to become a heroine, I suddenly felt the need to consider it. I also think she's charming. For now, I'll have to see how things progress as Part 3 unfolds!
[ Lee Wanyong... ]
Honestly, he was a guy I intended to kill.
But thanks to his greater-than-expected contributions, he ended up surviving. In fact, I'm very grateful to both the readers and to Lee Wanyong himself. To me, Lee Wanyong was like a cheat code character. If you want to do something, there has to be a plausible reason, right? I think Lee Wanyong was the character who allowed me to bend the rules of plausibility a bit.
Making contracts, speaking Japanese, building a large settlement that blended modern culture well with Green Skin culture, creating games, and frivolously pissing off the Sword Saint. These were all things the protagonist couldn't do.
Having this guy around allowed me to make the story a bit more interesting. I sincerely thank my readers!
[ Choi Seulgi ]
Actually, Choi Seulgi and Blood Dagger were supposed to meet in a much more dramatic way. But this kind of meeting didn't seem bad either. Also, because there were so many readers eagerly awaiting Choi Seulgi! I couldn't help but bring her into the story. Personally, I'm satisfied.
However, there are more readers who dislike Seulgi than I expected! So I'm carefully maneuvering her.
[ What happened to the Elven Continent and the Elven Sisters? ]
This will be covered in Part 3. Eliane and Alisha will be in constant conflict. I believe this will serve as a stepping stone for Blood Dagger's growth. So, it's highly likely that he won't bother conquering the elves' land and will leave it be.
As for whether Alisha and Elia, the two elven sisters, will join the harem, I haven't decided yet. If there are too many female characters, they inevitably get "air-ified" (fade into the background), so for now, I want to focus on taking care of the existing characters!
[ The reason the Queen of the North was defeated by the Sword Saint. ]
To put it simply, I didn't think raw specs were the most important factor in deciding a fight. The Queen of the North is strong, but she has overcome many hardships and various experiences, becoming stronger, especially with Choi Seulgi's help. In her previous life, she endured all sorts of death-defying crises and struggled immensely to reach her position, but that's not the case in this current life where Choi Seulgi has been by her side. As a result, her mental immaturity seems to have been revealed.
Furthermore, the Sword Saint, Ha Yuri, feeds on great sins. The Sword Saint's conquest of the entire West happened a year faster than in the previous life, by killing Choi Younghoon even sooner. The Sword Saint, too, was stronger, though perhaps not as much as the Queen of the North, and could be considered equally intelligent.
[ The protagonist's weapon from Gourmet Fantasy appears in Green Skin?! ]
The two will not meet. They operate in different dimensions but share the same worldview. That's why a weapon from Gourmet Fantasy appears in Green Skin. To tell you one interesting fact, In-sseu-bak, the protagonist of Gourmet Fantasy, has visited the Green Skin Continent once before. Of course, the reason for that hasn't appeared in the previous work yet.
He will absolutely never meet the protagonist! And he probably won't appear in Green Skin either! However, items like the [ Hammer of the Gods ] or [ Baobab Turtle's Spice ] might occasionally appear as Easter eggs.
[ And Thank You. ]
I feel like my lacking work has received an overflowing amount of love. I am so grateful to all of you. Part 3 will begin right away tomorrow!
I will continue to be a "dirt spoon" writer who works even harder.
If you have any more questions, please write them in the next chapter's postscript, and I will also try to slowly serialize Gourmet Fantasy. To my Gourmet Fantasy readers, I always send both my apologies and my thanks at the same time.
I'm so sorry for making you wait for this lacking author.
Although Gourmet Fantasy is currently on a temporary hiatus, since we've all come this far towards its completion, I will write and upload it whenever I can. Thank you so much.
[ I'm sorry there are no replies to comments today! I'm so exhausted! Sigh. I will write replies to comments! To @ everyone! And Silver Lagoon-nim! Thank you so much for the manuscript fee coupon! So-doduknom-nim, thank you so, so much for the manuscript fee coupon! Motnallija-nim, thank you so much for the manuscript fee coupon! I will write even harder. To those who gave coupons but didn't reveal their names, and to everyone who has loved this work and always given me strength through favorites, recommendations, and comments, thank you. ]
