Chapter 222: The Eastern Continent Conquest
A massacre.
The first to lose their minds were the Ogres of the Goff Clan. They stormed in indiscriminately, swinging their arms wildly and steadily overwhelming the humans. Influenced by the Goff Clan’s charge, the long-range spear throwers of the Black Spear Clan hurled their spears at the elves to push them back.
An elf struck by a spear was slammed into the wall.
“Aghhh…”
A scream erupted, but the wound wouldn't be fatal. The shamans were already casting healing spells.
“Uwooooooo!”
The Ogres were rampaging so violently, their roars so loud, that I worried the building might collapse. It could no longer even be called a battle. There was something indescribable about the sight of the Ogre legion advancing, tearing off and eating the heads and arms of humans.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Screams erupted alongside the thumping of war drums that escalated the chaos of the battlefield.
“Aaaaaah! S-Save me!”
“Huuuh… sob…”
The wailing human was silenced as its head was torn clean off. The arrows from an archer who clumsily tried to fire didn't even pierce their hides. Mages tried to reach out with their spells, but of course, they couldn't connect.
The Goff Clan's buffs were repelling the mental-type magic.
Goff and Black Spear also seemed to be merely walking slowly, not participating in the fight. A battle this anticlimactic could hardly be enjoyable for warriors of their caliber. Watching their grown clansmen in action was likely far more entertaining for them.
The grand castle's first line of defense was being broken with absurd ease. Seeing this, Japanese soldiers who had the semblance of a knightly order charged in wearing armor, but they couldn't stop the tide. Even the officers of each clan were holding back. Perhaps they thought it would be a nuisance to join such a one-sided fight.
But there were always those who wanted to stand out. Among the clan officers, only the Goblin Three Sisters were at the forefront of the battle.
“So cool! Let’s go!”
“Kekekeke! The hammer is coming through!”
“Fly!”
With their tiny hands and blades, they circled the humans, picking them off one by one. A knightly order, properly equipped with swords and shields, couldn't handle three goblins. It was a somewhat surreal sight. The panicked voices of the pinned-down knights echoed.
“Th-They’re tiny monsters!”
“Block them! Block them!”
“Don’t let them get close! They’re barely a handful!”
Contrary to the Japanese soldiers' wishes, the Goblin Three Sisters began to move faster and faster. Trapping the large group within a circle, the sisters spun continuously, creating a massive whirlwind.
The sisters' unique ability, one that required all three of them to use—Blade Storm—had been unleashed in the narrow indoor space.
Fwoooooosh
From the humans caught inside to those on the fringes, all were within the Goblin Three Sisters' range. As they began to spin, a wind kicked up as if from a powerful spell. The Goblin Three Sisters continued to spin, swallowing the humans whole, looking as if they would even devour the archers standing some distance away.
“For victory! Only! For victory!”
Their playful voices could be heard continuously from the center of the storm.
“For Blood Dagger!”
“Fly!”
The screams also continued unabated.
“Uwaaaaaaah!”
“Save me! Aaaaaah!”
Blood and guts splattered everywhere, sending a constant spray of gore soaring into the air.
I saw a human flung out from the Blade Storm, their body torn to shreds, already dead. I remembered trying it out myself when the Goblin Three Sisters first awakened that unique ability. I had thought it was the perfect skill for them, as they lacked a decisive finishing blow.
The problem was, thanks to the sisters, the regular members of our clan were left twiddling their thumbs.
“I’m dizzy…”
“Bleeegh”
Seeing the three sisters clutching their heads after it was over, I couldn't help but sigh.
The castle was being steadily conquered. I glanced at Alisha, who wore an expression of utter disbelief. It was the same when she saw Hark's one-man show earlier, but this absurd spectacle seemed to have left her terrified. Of course, it was only natural.
Screams from all directions, flesh and blood bursting, guts spilling out. The elves weren't dead, but they were moaning, pinned to the walls. The floor was already soaked with the blood of our enemies. It squelched with every step, which I found slightly amusing.
Perhaps she was regretting her decision. But when I looked at Alisha's face, it seemed to be slightly flushed. I spoke to her.
“Any information on stronger enemies?”
“Y-Yes. The human king possesses great martial strength.”
As expected, the main force hadn't moved yet. In other words, it seemed they had noticed our invasion and were gathering disposable troops. Judging by the humans dying now, the quality of those troops probably wasn't very high, but the one they called the human king might at least be somewhat useful.
As time passed, the entire castle was stained with blood. It must have felt like an eternity to our enemies, but for us, it was an incredibly short time. It was almost absurd how quickly we conquered the entire castle.
There was no tension.
After the humans were dead, a unit composed entirely of elves attacked. This gave the Goff Clan a chance to rest while the shamans and Orc swordsmen of the Blood Dagger Clan got to move. Seeing this, Alisha looked quite anxious.
But a promise made in a contract is a promise I keep.
“Incapacitate the elves.”
“For Blood Dagger!”
Since they weren't used to subduing enemies, it would take a little time, but not much. The higher we climbed the castle, the fewer humans we saw. Only then did I realize there was no main force.
All I saw were frightened humans and a trembling king. The soldiers, too, stared at me with fear in their eyes.
“D-Demons!”
“D-Demon bastards…”
A pleasant compliment.
Expressionless elves lunged at me, but once again, Hark stepped in front of me.
“Don’t kill them.”
“For Blood Dagger.”
He didn't even draw his twin swords. After Hark passed, all the elves were slammed to the floor. I slowly began to survey the king's chamber. I didn't know what had been happening before we arrived, but I saw quite a few naked elves around. They had been holding an orgy in a place meant for discussing matters of state. It was so absurd I almost laughed. If we had taken them seriously, we would have been the ones to look foolish.
I could hear the intermittent voices of elves. Some elves were covered in dried semen, while others were adorned with strange devices. Every single one of them was beautiful.
“M-Master, please hold me.”
“Master, please. Hurry, come inside me.”
“I can’t bear it any longer.”
It seemed they had separated the elves who could fight from those used as sex slaves. A disgusting smell also began to rise. Meanwhile, the man who appeared to be the king was staring at me with trembling eyes.
“I… I am Kimura Yasukuni, the king of this kingdom. If… if there is something you desire…”
The fact that he tried to speak, assuming we were intelligent beings, was a passing grade, but his trembling legs were not convincing. The flag hanging behind him was extremely irritating. Screams continued to echo from outside.
“I-I will give you whatever you desire. Th-The beautiful elves. I will give you all the women of our kingdom. I will also give you vast amounts of gold… J-Just spare me.”
A pathetic sight.
To think something like this was a king. It was baffling.
I raised my sword.
A desperate voice cried out once more.
“If you attack me, the surrounding allied nations will not stand idly by!”
I already knew the Japanese continent was fractured just like ours. Their level of strength seemed to be about the same, so it didn't matter.
“I-Is there truly nothing you need…?”
I spoke to the king as he backed away.
“Moron.”
As I raised my hand, roots summoned by Jung Hayeon, who was behind me, shot up and completely enveloped the king. The roots burrowed into the king's mouth and rear, and he began to make strange noises.
“Keeeegh… Gweeegh… S-Save…”
I had no intention of killing him yet. I looked at Jung Hayeon, and she pinned him to the floor just like that. She immediately used the roots to form a chair for me to sit on. It seemed she was also making chairs for Goff and Black Spear, who arrived late, so I took a seat in the one at the far end.
As I sat and slowly raised my head, I saw the Japanese prostrating themselves on the floor, their heads bowed low. They were trembling. The conquest was over. It had happened in an absurdly short amount of time.
Goff and Black Spear also slowly took their seats on the chairs Jung Hayeon had made from roots. They, too, said nothing about the anticlimactic result. The sight of three Green Skins sitting on three large thrones must have looked quite impressive, as the Green Skins who began to enter offered a simple gesture of respect.
The surviving Japanese were dead silent, able to do nothing but press their faces to the floor.
At my gesture, elite Orc swordsmen forced the humans to their feet.
There was quite a variety: some were crying, some were holding back vomit, and some had pissed themselves. For now, I wanted to clear the elves and humans out of this place, so I spoke to them casually.
“Bind the elves and humans separately and lock them up somewhere.”
Next, it was the turn of Hakajin and the strategists from each clan. As I had told them in advance, they all looked prepared.
Giant Scream Apachi's eyes were bloodshot, perhaps because he had been forced to watch the battle until now.
The same went for the usually calm battlemage, Crugar.
What was rather interesting was that the young warriors of each clan were also already prepared. Goff's son, Gogh, and an Orc with a small drum next to him stood before Goff. I had seen him a few times, and he had an excellent physique.
I never imagined the drum-beating Orc had a son, but he would likely be a great asset to them.
The same was true for the young warriors of the Black Spear Clan. They had rather cool hairstyles and piercings, and both Black Spear's son and daughter were holding throwing spears. The daughter seemed to be a shaman-type, with quite high magical power, and the son also exuded the aura of a strong warrior. Their names were Shakajin and Shakara. Their clear eyes made them look just like their wise father.
“Haha.”
The amusing ones were Kim Yoora and the young Green Skins of our tribe. Their entire bodies were painted with tattoos. Perhaps Nicole had drawn them with enemy blood on the way here, but the symbol of Blood Dagger was emblazoned on Kim Yoora's face and body.
The torsos of the unarmored Orcs were similarly smeared with the Blood Dagger symbol. It was their own way of showing their resolve.
Moreover, the faint red glow of the tattoos clearly indicated that Nicole's unique ability had been activated.
Seeing the young warriors looking this way with such fiery eyes, even though no one had ordered them to, made the corners of my mouth lift.
Hakajin, also looking satisfied, watched them and spoke.
“Go and fight. Make the name of the Blood Dagger Clan known.”
A single short command. Kim Yoora and Nicole climbed atop a Giant Wolf and raised a flag.
“For victory! Only for victory! For Blood Dagger!”
It must have been the chant they had been so eager to shout. The young warriors of the Goff Clan and the Black Spear Clan also kicked off the ground in turn and began to head out of the castle.
It was still early, but watching them scream with all their might, I had the useless thought that perhaps we were standing at the dawn of a new era.
Kim Yoora bit her lip hard as she ran outside, and I watched her go from my seat.
