Chapter 139: Guerrilla Concert
139. Guerrilla Concert
Miro Maze's first guerrilla concert.
A temporary stage was set up in the middle of a spacious plaza on the outskirts of Seoul.
The production team prioritized safety and order, deploying the maximum number of security personnel and staff to prevent overcrowding. The location had been announced just the day before to avoid early crowds.
[Honestly, the production team is so thoughtless]
They know how popular and talked-about these kids are—what if there's an accident because of overcrowding? What's the point of calling it a guerrilla concert?ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
They only did one audience recording anyway, why not just stick to that?
And they announced it so late that fans who couldn't make it are just drowning in FOMO...
— ? Where are you seeing this FOMO?
— The FOMO seems to be hitting you pretty hard right now.
— Well, I'm riding the wave over here.
└ I'm riding the rhythm.
└ I'm from the provinces, so I took the train yesterday and just arrived. This place is huge.
└ Hehe, I live nearby, so I just biked over~
— Hey, hey, this kid's upset about missing the guerrilla concert... Show some sympathyㅠㅋㅋㅋㅋ
└ 22 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I'm a Destiny too, but seriously, what's with the restraint?
└ 3333 I knew it from the moment they started dropping the haters...
└ Nowadays, they don't just drop them—they straight-up shoot them down with cannons.
Kang Hadi @kang_HD
Came to see the kids~
There are a lot of people,
but I guess I'm used to festivals,
so it's bearable for me.

[Omg, Today's Guerrilla MC is from Endway]
Choi Yeon-woo and Park Woong
(Phone camera photo of Park Woong and Choi Yeon-woo greeting fans on-site)
— Oh
— Wow
— Ahhh Yeon-woo noona
— Holy crap, will we get a Yeon-woo and Seo Tae-hyun two-shot today?
— I'm at the venue, and the MC seems to be Yeon-woo! Woong's just here in casual clothesㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
— Ha... Woong probably just tagged along because Yeon-woo promised to buy him food, right?
└ That... makes sense!
└ If it's our Woong, that's totally possible.
└ What exactly do Endviewers think of Park Woong?
└ But our Woong... once followed a senior into the jungle just because they promised him good food...
Seriously???
└ Who's the senior???
└ Yupia's Yoon Ji-nu
└ Ah..... Okay.
└ Why does that make perfect sense?
Amidst everyone's anticipation, interest, and concern, the guerrilla concert finally began.
Due to a few streaming errors on iTube's live broadcast, the start was delayed by about 30 minutes from the original schedule.
— They're starting!!!
— Ahhh
— Voting's open too!!!
— ♥One vote for God Kiyeon and Park Jae-young♥
— Plz eng subbbbb
— Saya mendukungnya. Dia adalah orang spesial yang harus debut.
Late afternoon, when the heat had slightly subsided.
As previously leaked, the first person to step onto the softly lit stage was Endway's Choi Yeon-woo.
"Hello, Destinies."
As Yeon-woo greeted them in her chic voice, the Destinies on-site erupted in cheers.
Since it was an outdoor guerrilla concert, Yeon-woo wasn't in a sleek suit but in casual daily wear. She fanned herself slightly, as if feeling the heat.
"Maybe it's because of your energy, but I'm already feeling really hot. Did you all wait long?"
""Yes—!!""
"Our Miro Maze trainees' performances will blow away all that waiting. I'm really looking forward to it too. But first, let me introduce myself."
Holding the mic and cue cards in one hand, Yeon-woo used her free hand to greet them with Endway's hand sign.
"Two, three, Make my way! Hello, I'm Endway's unchanging center, Choi Yeon-woo. Today, I'll be hosting Miro Maze's guerrilla concert in place of senior Seo Tae-il."
Another round of cheers and applause followed her smooth introduction and lead-in.
While Yeon-woo warmed up the crowd with a brief opening speech,
another Endway member was greeting the Miro Maze trainees under a tent set up in a parking lot slightly removed from the stage.
"Hello!"
"Hello, senior!"
"Oh, hello, everyone."
Endway's main rapper, Park Woong, greeted each trainee with a bright smile, shaking hands with them one by one.
Some of the trainees with longer training periods already knew him, so he exchanged friendly hugs with a few. All of this was being faithfully captured by the cameras.
"I wanted to bring some snacks, but Yeon-woo kept saying you'd all be too busy, so I couldn't bring anything! What a shame."
True to his image as a gourmet and voracious eater—cemented by his "Park Woong's Broadcasting Station Food List"—
Woong opened his first remarks with food talk, wearing an exaggeratedly disappointed expression.
"There's this really good madeleine place nearby. I really wanted to bring some... If anyone wants the name, I'll tell you. You have to try it later. Seriously legit."
'...What the hell is this guy?'
Kang Ha-jin's first impression of Park Woong was a bit extreme.
And for good reason—here was an active idol, busy preparing for tours after wrapping up promotions, who had come all this way to see his juniors... only to talk about food the entire time.
Of course, Ha-jin had heard plenty about Woong's obsession with food before.
He remembered a former colleague who had joined Endway's concert team complaining that catering to Woong's tastes was harder than pulling all-nighters for rehearsals.
[System Alert: Wow... is that what they call celebrity abuse of power?]
'It's not like he demanded freshly brewed Italian coffee flown in before it cooled. Liking certain snacks and coffee brands doesn't even count as abuse.'
Back then, Ha-jin's colleague hadn't hated Woong or anything.
In this industry, complaints like that were just, "Ugh, the client's being so difficultㅠㅠ" and were brushed off.
But seeing him in person, Ha-jin couldn't help but think, 'This guy might actually demand freshly brewed Italian coffee if he felt like it.'
"...Anyway, there are a lot of hidden gems near our company. But we're moving to a new building soon, so it's kind of a shame. I wanted to pass down all my favorite spots!"
"......"
"Come to think of it, I heard you guys are staying at the new building! Have you tried any places nearby? Any recommendations?"
"...Ah, we mostly eat at the company cafeteria or diet meals."
"Wow, really? That's such a shame. Well, I guess you're all in strict weight management mode now."
Amidst the dizzying food talk, Jung Si-woo barely managed to keep his composure and answered on behalf of the group.
Woong sighed sincerely, unable to hide his disappointment. Behind him, Endway's manager facepalmed at Woong's relentless food chatter.
'Why is this company full of weirdos?'
He thought it was just Yupia, but Endway didn't seem much better.
Was it a company tradition?
With that thought, Ha-jin resolved to ask Woong for the name of that madeleine shop later.
[System Alert: The System laments that the Fixed Regressor isn't exactly normal either...]
[System Alert: (Shaking head)]
Just as the food talk was about to drag on, the production team intervened.
The main writer, who had been watching Woong chatter happily with the (soon-to-be) juniors, decided they had enough footage and smoothly cut in to wrap things up.
"Alright, Woong-ssi. Time to move on to what we discussed earlier."
"Ah, right? Okay, got it."
'Discussed?'
Ha-jin had thought this walking Michelin guide had just come to cheer them on, but it seemed the production team had given him a mission. No wonder he was wearing a mic.
Woong, who had been rambling about food just moments ago, took a sip of water from his manager.
He removed his hoodie and cap, checked his appearance briefly, cleared his throat a few times, then clapped his hands sharply—creating his own editing point.
"The reason I came to your waiting area is because I have something important to tell you."
What's with this sudden corporate-speak?
Just a second ago, his pronunciation was lazy and his tone casual. But after the clap, Woong continued with startlingly clear diction and a professional tone.
In that one sentence, it was obvious why Woong held the main rapper position in Endway, despite them having three rappers.
"All of you must have prepared special effects and stage production tailored to your performances in advance, right?"
"...Yes."
...Oh no.
As Woong grinned and brought up stage production, the trainees instinctively sensed danger.
Yeah, our stages were kinda lacking this time.
Now that they were nearing three months into the survival show, the trainees were starting to develop a 'These broadcast people are at it again.' mindset.
'But surely not. Not right before we go on stage?'
'Whatever. It's not like they're giving us more—taking things away is easier.'
While the trainees wavered between 'Surely not?' and 'Please, no,'
Woong shattered their hopeful delusions with a bright smile.
"However—you can't use those stage setups as-is!"
'You insane production team—forcing drama like this!'
Ha-jin glared at the head writer, who was hiding behind a script in the back. Even if the cameras caught it, they'd just slap on a subtitle like 'These broadcast people...' and frame it as shocked betrayal.
Case in point: Dan Ha-ru, standing right next to him, looked like a baby rabbit warrior who'd just had his precious carrot stolen—staring at Woong with utter devastation.
'And this guy might be the Chosen Regressor? Damn it, I need to catch that bastard and—'
Wait, what exactly was he supposed to do after finding the Chosen Regressor?
Ha-jin tilted his head at the sudden thought.
But before he could ponder further, Woong continued.
'I'll finish this quest cleanly and check the Unconscious Space soon.'
Remembering that this quest came with Unconscious Space entry side effects, Ha-jin refocused on the filming.
'Whatever. They'll just make us play some mini-game to earn stage effects. It's too late to give Wings privileges since half the trainees are Wings now...'
"Starting now, you'll have to earn your stage elements through a special mission."
See? Called it.
They'd probably announce a quick 10-minute mini-game backstage—something like ladder climbing, kick-the-shuttlecock, or speed quizzes.
Feeling smug about his experience as a variety PD, Ha-jin was about to relax when Woong dropped the bombshell.
"And whether you succeed—depends entirely on the Destinies!"
"...What?"
What insane idea have these production lunatics come up with now...?
