What’s the Most Dangerous Thing in the Wild?

Everything in the untamed wild, beyond the safety of civilization, is a threat. Even the ground you tread isn't safe. And humans? We're fragile as hell on our own. Without tools, we couldn't take down a large dog.

A pack of massive dogs was snarling viciously right in front of me. The problem? They weren't ordinary large dogs. These beasts were the size of cows. Fantasy specs even for wild dogs—way beyond comprehension.
Luckily, their bulk means they can't get any closer...
Considering their size, I'd deliberately led them into this dense thicket. The herb patch was okay, but it was wide open and too thin for cover. So I'd bolted. I hadn't forgotten the bundle with the sword and food from Cheonma.
Now I was hunkered down, back against a massive rock wall, holding the fort. The dogs weren't stupid enough to squeeze through the trees—they were just watching. In other words, they were smart. They knew I had the advantage.
What the hell do I do?
Just wait it out? God, I hoped those fuckers would back off. But you always plan for the worst. I connected to the Gallery right away. While they hadn't advanced yet, I needed advice fast.

It collapsed, tongue lolling—split too. I stared, dumbfounded. No feedback in my hands. Like slicing tofu.
Unreal in a whole other way. Stunned me.

Oh right—one more. Reflex swing at the sound behind.

Luck—no pounce. Head and body separated, hit ground. Same zero resistance.
I gawked at the corpses. One thing clear: Cheonma's a god, sword's invincible.

Just the boss left, glaring warily. Tension thick between thick trees. Who blinks first? Obviously it. Eyed its dead crew, then slunk back. Sword made it realize it was outmatched. Smart pup.
"Phew!"
Crisis over. Exhaled tension. Without that sword—or the herb luck—what then? No compass yet, hard to roam. Wait for Cheonma's delivery.
