Fallen Angels and the Womb's Bargain
Even in the afternoon, the sky was as dark as midnight. In front of the cathedral, all the angel leaders stood ready, fully armed. At the center, Michaela knelt, showering her fellow angel leaders with her blessing ability.
Their strategy was simple: protect Michaela, take down the Overmind, and copy its soul-related powers. Using Simiel's ability replication, they would free the angels' souls unjustly trapped within them.
"Hoo..."
Everyone stretched and prepared their bodies.
"Hey!"
A man's voice echoed through the air. There were no males among the angels, so this wasn't one of them. As everyone turned toward the voice, they saw an enormous group of hunters.
"Need our help?"
"How...?"
All the trackers finished arming themselves and marched right up to the angel leaders. By sheer numbers, it was no exaggeration to say every hunter in Russia had gathered.
"You think we can just sit this out after seeing that?"
The man who seemed to be the hunters' leader raised his hand, pointing at the sky. A massive gate blotted out the entire Russian sky.
"Where are all the angels? Why are only the leaders here?"
"..."
"No way they ran off in a situation like this, right? Hey?"
"They're all dead."
"What? Did I hear that wrong?"
The hunter leader dug at his ear and asked again at Michaela's words.
"All of them... are dead."
"Hold on! What the hell does that mean—angels are all dead?!"
"All the angels are dead."
"Hey... don't bullshit me... My little sister was an angel too. She told me to come here with everyone... Move!"
The hunter leader shoved past the angel leaders blocking the cathedral doors. The moment he burst in, his legs gave out, and he collapsed.
The scene inside the cathedral was hell itself. The massive doors crashing open exposed the interior to all the hunters. Only then did they understand why the angel leaders were covered in so much blood. The once-pure white cathedral was stained red, and chunks of flesh scattered everywhere evoked images of the underworld.
"You... did... this...?"
The hunter leader gripped his weapon so hard his hands bled, barely restraining himself as he glared at the angel leaders.
"I'm sorry. We couldn't stop it."
"Couldn't... stop... what...?!"
"Einsl, our former leader, betrayed us."
"...That bitch?"
"...Yes."
"For what reason...?!"
"She said it was to stop the monster humans coming from that gate."
"How the fuck is that a reason?!"
"Hold on, Leader!"
"What now?!"
A female hunter rushed desperately to the leader. Her ability was vision-related. Wondering if she saw something he missed, the leader calmed down and asked her.
"...What do you see?"
"The angel leaders' bodies... they're weird."
"What're you talking about?"
"It's like... countless souls are crammed into one body..."
"No way..."
Michaela bowed her head and spoke.
"To block that gate, Einsl killed all the angels and stuffed their souls into our bodies."
"That crazy bitch..."
-Murmurs erupted instantly, the crowd growing noisy.
The hunter leader shouted then.
"Deal with that gate first... then the crazy bitch."
The angel leaders nodded in agreement. Priority one was the gate right in front of them. There were so many angels that surely plenty of hunters had family among them. Was that why? Everyone gathered at the cathedral brimmed with resolve like never before. A power surged within them, as if they could conquer anything.
The gate opened.
Silence hung over the cathedral. Everyone stared at the gate. From the gate enveloping all of Russia, a tiny dot descended.
-Gulp.
As it came down, growing larger, its outline became visible. Soon, it arrived right before them. Over 3 meters tall. Not a mere monster, but a monster human with perfect human proportions. Tree branches sprouted from its back like wings, dotted with unidentified black cocoons. Its entire body was black, exuding an ominous aura that made eyes water just looking at it. This was the first S-rank monster human in human history, hailing from Korea—the Overmind.
Its mere appearance weighed down the air. No one moved first.
The Overmind turned its head, scanning the angel leaders and hunters. Then its mouth opened.
"Lots of people here?"
"!?"
Though they'd heard reports of rational monster humans lately, this was the first with such clear intent. The hunters stirred uneasily. Everyone gripped their weapons, ready to fight at any moment.
-Crack.
Then the cocoons on the Overmind's branches began opening one by one.
-Splat. Splat. Splat. Splat. Splat. Splat.
From within, things wrapped in black liquid fell to the ground.
"Huh?"
Everyone doubted their eyes. The angel leaders gaped in horror. Rising from the black liquid were none other than angels—the ones presumed missing or dead.
"Ouriel! Brunhild! Luci!"
Ouriel, Brunhild, and Luci were there too. But the angels showed no reaction to the leaders' calls. They stood blankly until the black liquid suddenly enveloped them again and vanished. In their place appeared fallen angels. Their once-bright halos had turned black, their pure white wings now pitch-black. Eyes dyed black with yellow pupils, they moved in unison like machines, acting identically. The sheer wrongness sent chills down spines of angel leaders and hunters alike.
"Does this balance the scales now?"
With those words, the fallen angels charged.
"Charge!"
The hunter leader bellowed, and the silent battlefield erupted into chaos.
The war was one-sided. Already powerful angels, now enhanced by the Overmind's modifications, were unstoppable. Those borrowing the Overmind's powers were impossible to counter. Brunhild's single move felled dozens of hunters; every time Luci used her ability, angel leaders dropped one by one. Luci's Time Adjustment, combined with hunter Kwak Jae-hee's Time Stop and fueled by Overmind energy, created near-invincibility. In just one hour, the war ended.
Overmind's victory.
All males were killed; females knocked out. A perfect war. A few angels died, but souls could be revived, so no issue. Hunters were useless but collected for energy—or eaten later. And the main prizes: the angel leaders.
"Oh? What's this?"
The Overmind smirked at their state.
"Time for an experiment."
Michaela grimaced as consciousness returned. Opening her eyes, she saw what looked like a garden—countless flowers and trees, marred by incongruous cocoons.
"Cocoons!?"
They were definitely the ones on the Overmind. She realized she'd lost the fight and been captured.
"In the end... it's over... Haha... Ugh!?"
Despair washing over her, Michaela looked up—and froze in horror. The ceiling dangled with innumerable cocoons, packed tight like cockroach eggs.
All those... have women inside...?
-Struggle.
She thrashed to escape, but her limbs were perfectly bound. The position mimicked a maternity ward delivery table—utterly humiliating and shameful.
"No use."
"Overmind..."
She instantly recognized the voice and glared.
"Don't show that hostility."
"..."
"I've figured something fun out. The angel leaders' bodies have angels' souls inside, right?"
"...!"
"How about a fun proposal? I know what happened. Want me to revive the angels?"
"...What's your goal."
"Simple condition: release your womb seal."
"How does that revive the angels."
"I've extracted one personality before, but with so many, it'll be tough. If I do it naturally—following nature's laws—it should be easy to pull out the personalities, or souls."
"Say it plainly!"
Michaela yelled at the Overmind's long explanation.
"Whoa, calm down."
The Overmind wagged a finger, and her next words shocked Michaela.
"Wh-what? P-pregnancy? Ch-childbirth?"
"Exactly! How natural is that?"
Michaela's eyes shook violently.
"Even I couldn't create that many bodies. Original ones are dead anyway."
The Overmind stroked her belly.
"Even I can't make perfect human bodies from scratch. But women can. By creating new ones."
"..."
"Then insert each angel soul into the new bodies. Give birth, and boom? Oh look, angels revived."
"What about the reborn angels..."
"I'll have some parenting rights, sure, but since it's their revival... let the newborn angels decide."
"Stay here, or go back to being angel magical girls."
"Fine... I accept. But promise one thing: care for the reborn angels properly."
"Of course. Technically, they'd be my daughters."
In truth, Michaela had no choice. Spend life as an onahole here, or revive the dead angels. Ultimately, she released her womb seal, preparing for pregnancy.
