#012 Sera Violet
Had I missed something?
No matter how hard I thought about it, nothing came to mind.
The most plausible theory was that the kid named Lin, who had been suffering, had finally caused an incident after all.
Just then, a man approached me.
It was Leopoldt, the secretary working under the chancellor. The same rude bastard from before.
“The chancellor is looking for you. Follow me.”
Still no manners whatsoever.
‘Who? Christian?’
Hmm. Not a bad idea.
I walked at a leisurely pace, following the man ahead.
When we entered the chancellor’s office at the top of the academy’s largest building, I saw Pellermil. He looked haggard, as if the recent stress had worn him down.
“It’s difficult to say ‘Have you been well?’ given the circumstances, Chancellor.”
“Does it look that way to you as well? Sigh… Why do these commoner bastards keep killing themselves every other day… Tsk tsk. If they’re going to die, they should at least jump from their own damn houses.”
He grumbled and complained for a long while, repeating the same things over and over, until he finally remembered why he had called me. After clearing his throat, he continued.
“Princess Reina spoke highly of you. Said a rather decent one had arrived.”
“Is that so?”
Unexpected. She’s been praising me where I can’t even see. How cute.
“So, about that…”
He rested his chin on his hand and stared at me quietly. Pellermil’s blue eyes gazed at me with calm intensity.
This is important.
Whether I liked it or not, Pellermil and I had known each other for a long time—ever since the battlefield and now here at the academy. We knew each other’s habits all too well.
Whatever he was about to say was either extremely important or extremely dangerous.
“Kael Cleanberry, Baron. How would you like to join us?”
…So that was it.
I had suspected an offer like this might come someday.
I pretended ignorance and asked again.
“What exactly do you mean…?”
“You are quite capable. Well, I haven’t seen it myself, but… anyway. From what I can tell, you’re quick-witted as well.”
He continued slowly.
“I am a man of His Highness Kenesis, the Second Prince of the Empire. I hope you will join us and set sail on a much larger ocean.”
Well, well. How poetic of him—very unlike Pellermil. Sly old snake.
No matter how nicely he phrased it, joining them would only make me an arrow magnet or a meat shield. Especially as a mere baron, no matter how talented I was.
I laughed at him inwardly while putting on an act of flustered confusion.
“T-that… H-how could someone like me, a mere rural baron… Chancellor, please give me some time to think. My head is too muddled right now.”
“I understand. As you said, you’ve only just left the countryside. A sudden offer like this would naturally be overwhelming. Take your time. The academy term is quite long, after all.”
“T-thank you, Chancellor…!”
“Haha. Think nothing of it. You may go.”
I bowed deeply and left the chancellor’s office at a measured pace.
I’ll have to warn the princess. Tell her to stop praising me from now on.
‘It is, but not right now—while the next emperor hasn’t been decided yet. In the worst case, I could end up taking all the blame.’
I knew the princess was a bit clueless, but still… to think she would brag about me even to the enemy faction.
When I get back, I’ll have to muzzle her first, I decided as I left the office. That was when a familiar face suddenly caught my eye.
Huh? Who was that again?
‘The guy talking with that rude secretary bastard.’
‘Oh, so that was him?’
When I had stepped out the door earlier, the two of them had been having a rather serious conversation. The moment I appeared, they naturally ended it and separated. The brown-haired man then disappeared down the stairs.
What is this? Something feels really off.
‘First the princess. I need to shut her mouth quickly.’
“I truly feel sorry about what happened to Lin.”
At the man’s words, the woman lowered her head deeply. Her eyes were horribly swollen from crying.
“Still, the living must continue living. Don’t you agree? So think carefully about my proposal.”
With that, the man left.
In the now-empty classroom, the woman who remained alone thought to herself.
Lin… should I follow you as well?
“You understand now, Princess?”
“Ah, I understand. I hadn’t thought that far ahead…”
I went to find the princess and gave her a stern warning. As expected, she hadn’t considered what consequences her actions might bring. After hearing a single sentence from me, she immediately became downcast.
Her shoulders slumped so much she looked like a deflated cat. It was somehow pitiful.
If this was some high-level psychological tactic and acting designed to tug at my sympathy, then she had succeeded completely.
Damn it. She’s making my heart go soft for no reason.
I stepped closer and pulled her into a tight embrace. The princess flinched for a moment but didn’t resist.
“I want to stay by your side, Princess, so please do your best not to let me be taken away. Understood?”
“Ah, I understand. I will definitely protect you.”
“Then, may I admire your breasts after so long?”
“T-that is… Sigh. If that is what you wish, then do so.”
Hell yes. Long live the princess!
Without hesitation, I moved my hands and stripped off her top. Breasts the size of a human head revealed their overwhelming presence to the world.
No matter how many times I see them, they’re still so fucking hot. Especially that color. That pink hue…!
I grabbed both of her breasts with my hands and buried my face between them. The princess’s unique scent mixed with the perfume she always wore, violently stirring my lust.
“Eut. Heut… What’s so good about this that you do it every single day…”
What’s so good? Just touching them melts away all my stress. It’s like a drug.
These magical breasts that I can never get enough of no matter how much I fondle them!
“Then today I’ll suck on your nipples too, Princess Reina.”
“Ah. Ahht. N-no. That kind of stimulation is…”
I ignored her and sucked hard. I found the nipple buried deep within the soft flesh and rubbed it relentlessly with my tongue.
Yet the little thing kept dodging this way and that, stubbornly staying in place.
Seems tongue alone isn’t enough?
Then I’ll use my teeth.
“Ahheut…! I-I’m cumming…!”
The princess shuddered violently and collapsed against me. She must have come hard.
A faint murmur reached my ear.
“I-if this continues… there won’t be any decent panties left…”
Well, we do this every day, so that’s probably true. Hehe.
Through this constant breast play, the wall between the princess and me had crumbled quite a bit. Perhaps Beres’s advice had been effective… Ever since I whispered that I loved her, she had allowed me to do whatever I wanted with her breasts.
Well, she seems to be enjoying it herself now.
I quietly watched the princess sprawled on the bed with an ecstatic expression, her nipples stiff and perked. Then I slowly rose from my seat.
It was time to investigate that suspicious guy from earlier.
‘That’s right. And if we factor in kids skipping class, it’ll be even harder.’
‘Yeah. But I’m still debating it.’
I just need to go see that girl. The one who manages everything related to the commoner students. If I ask her for a description, I can look into the guy without the staff noticing.
The problem is…
‘That she absolutely loathes nobles.’
‘That’s a waste of time.’
‘That’s all for the greater good, dear sister.’
Good grief. No use trying to talk sense into her.
I’ll just go find her myself. There’s no need to suffer when there’s a comfortable path available.
I strode briskly toward the building where the fourth-year Class C was having lessons. It seemed class had just ended; students were moving between locations.
‘Yeah. Class A is academics, B is magic, and C is knights. The kid I’m looking for is also aiming to be a knight.’
I leaned my back against the building wall and quietly observed the passing crowd. Soon enough, I spotted the person I wanted to meet.
A woman with purple hair tied in a ponytail. She carried two swords at her waist and three daggers strapped to her thigh below them.
It was Sera Violet.
‘She’s not called Number Three for nothing.’
‘That’s right. Among the knight students, at least.’
Though I said that, in actual close-combat duels where mages couldn’t use their power, she was effectively the third strongest.
As I stared at her, she turned her head and looked straight at me.
“Sera?”
Her classmates murmured in confusion at her reaction. I raised my thumb and pointed to the side, signaling that I wanted to talk for a moment.
However…
Ugh. I knew it would turn out like this.
Exceptional skill for a commoner. On top of that, she was a woman from the Violet family. Naturally, many people approached her—whether with personal motives or for some greater cause.
The reaction of her classmates proved it.
“He’s here again. How many times is this today?”
“Probably the fifth time, I’d say.”
In the end, the group left without exchanging a single word with me.
As I quietly watched their retreating backs, Beres asked.
‘No chance.’
After this hour, she had a free period. I already knew exactly where she would go.
I quickened my steps and headed for a shabby building at the western edge of the academy. It was built from crude bricks that had weathered badly over the years.
If preservation magic had been allowed, it wouldn’t have ended up like this… But the nobles who disliked commoners gathering to study had opposed it, so it couldn’t be helped.
The reason was ridiculous too. Magic is strictly forbidden anywhere except the designated areas inside the academy.
Because of that, they had no choice but to build it with their own hands.
I looked up and carefully inspected its condition. It looked worn on the outside, but it was still sturdy. That was fortunate.
Just then, a voice came from behind me.
“Who are you.”
The words were as cold as a northern winter blade. I turned around with a smirk.
The purple-haired swordswoman was staring at me with an icy gaze.
