Chapter Title: Orc Warrior Full Set
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Tap, tap.
To block the attack from the orc approaching from behind, I lightly shifted my feet to bring all the orcs into my line of sight.
"Ghraaah!"
The orc at the very front let out a guttural roar and charged, club in hand.
Clang!
My sword, with the ‘Block’ skill activated, easily parried the orc's attack.
This time, two orcs on either side swung their clubs at me simultaneously.
Clank!
My sword, held at a diagonal, moved swiftly, deflecting all the orcs' attacks.
After parrying the last orc's attack, I drew back my sword and swung it forward like a flash of lightning.
Swish!
Splurt!
"Kee, kieek!"
Blood splattered, and the orcs shrieked.
"Phew."
Having defeated the four orcs, I stood in place and caught my breath for a moment.

[Block (E)]
- Blocks attacks within a 180-degree arc in front of you.
It wasn't displayed when I first acquired the skill, but skills in this game had ranks.
The more you used a skill, the higher its rank would climb.
I wouldn't know the exact effects of the rank-up without trying it, but the damage I took when blocking had definitely decreased since I first changed my class.
I minimized my potion usage with the Block skill, repeatedly using the basic attack skills, Slash and Pierce, to take down orcs.
Now, I could face three or four orcs at once without losing much HP.
I could hunt nonstop for about thirty minutes without needing to rest before I had to use a single potion.
After several hours of hunting orcs without a break, a field announcement popped up on my screen.
[The Orc Forest field boss, 'Orc Warrior,' has appeared!]
"Huh?"
I tilted my head.
A field boss?
"Hey, the field boss spawned!"
"Where? Drop the coordinates, quick!"
Thump-thump-thump!
The players hunting nearby quickly moved off somewhere.
A strong feeling that I should follow them came over me, so I worked my short legs hard to keep up.
Scamper!
After running for several minutes, I arrived at a clearing in the Orc Forest. In the center stood an armored orc that looked twice the size of the others.
"Grwaah!"
Whoosh!
The orc swung a massive axe in one hand, threatening the players gathered around it.
"Its attack power isn't that high! It's just a damage sponge!"
"Alright, let's take it down quick!"
Thwack, thwack!
Kaboom!
The gathered players focused their melee and magic attacks on the Orc Warrior.
Sure enough, it didn't go down easily, a clear sign that it had a lot of HP.
I hesitated to approach because of the crowd of players, but I swallowed hard and gripped my sword.
Usually, this type of field boss distributed rewards based on contribution after it was defeated.
I had to damage the Orc Warrior to get a reward.
I wasn't keen on hunting with other people, but to get a reward, I had to attack, one way or another.
Tap, tap, tap.
Quickly approaching the Orc Warrior from behind, I executed a Pierce attack with a large motion.
Thunk!
My sword struck a gap in the Orc Warrior's armor, leaving a small wound.
"Kieeeek!"
The wounded Orc Warrior swung its axe in a wide arc.
The reach of the Orc Warrior's swing extended to its rear, including me in its attack range.
Clang!
But my ranked-up Block skill perfectly defended against the Orc Warrior's axe attack.
After blocking the axe, I used Pierce, which could be activated instantly as a follow-up to Block.
Thrust, th-thrust!
I blocked the wide-swinging axe attack and repeatedly drove my instant-cast Pierce into the Orc Warrior's body.
The other melee players seemed to have lost quite a bit of HP to the Orc Warrior's area-of-effect axe attack; they were keeping their distance, drinking potions to recover.
The classes that kept up the assault were Swordsmen like me who had the Block skill, a few Fighters who caught the timing for a counter, and the Mages and Spirit Masters attacking from a distance.
"Ghraaaah!"
Thud.
Under the continuous barrage of player attacks, the Orc Warrior's HP finally ran out, and its massive body collapsed to the ground.
Ping.
"Oh."
I checked the item that had been delivered to my inventory.
[Orc Warrior's Essence x3]
[Upon use, you can obtain one of the Orc Warrior's weapons, accessories, or outfits.]
My jaw dropped.
A random reward?
And not just equipment, but an outfit, too?
"I got two."
"What? Why did I only get one!"
"Yes! I opened one and got a weapon!"
Cheers and sighs could be heard from the players around me.
I quietly slipped away from the crowd of players.
Once I reached a spot where no other players were in sight, I took the Orc Warrior's Essences from my inventory and held them in my hand.
Using this means I could get a weapon.
But to make the very first reward a random gacha...
I bit my lip at the game company's malicious reward system and used an Orc Warrior's Essence.
Ping.
Along with the notification sound, I checked the item that appeared in my inventory.
"Th-this...!"
I was furious.
[Orc Warrior's Hat]
[Head Slot Decorative Item]
A cosmetic item with a cute pig face drawn on the front.
It was the Orc Warrior's Hat.
"C-cosmetic items don't give any stats!"
I stomped my feet on the spot.
Still, I have two left.
I took out the remaining Orc Warrior's Essences from my inventory and used them in quick succession.
Ping, ping.
[Orc Warrior's Top]
[Orc Warrior's Bottoms]
"Hic, hic."
Having obtained the full outfit set, including the Orc Warrior's Hat, I couldn't help but tear up.
In any case, I couldn't *not* wear the full Orc Warrior outfit set.
It seemed this was the Orc Warrior's first spawn.
If no one else who got three Orc Warrior's Essences like me had obtained all three outfit pieces, then I would be the first person to acquire the full Orc Warrior outfit set.
I needlessly wiped away the tears welling in my eyes and equipped the cosmetic items.
A beret with a cute pig face on it.
A t-shirt with a similarly cute pig character in the center.
And a women's skirt with a pig face peeking out from the left side of the hem.
"Heh."
Putting on the cute outfit set made me feel a little better.
My spirits lifted, I hopped up and down on the spot.
I'm the owner of the full Orc Warrior outfit set!

- Lmaooooo
- Hooooooly crap lololol
- Wow; so damn cute. What are the character customization stats for that?
ㄴ They probably won't share the customization. Must have put a ton of effort into it.
- But if you make your character that small, doesn't your strength stat drop a bit? Looks like the Human race, too. And seeing the sword, probably a Swordsman?
ㄴ I saw them for a bit while fighting the Orc Warrior, they're a Swordsman alright. Tried to talk to them after we killed it, but they ran off.
- We all know how VR games work. If you don't make it similar to your own body, the synchronization rate drops a lot and it's hard to play. It's obviously a female player who's just in it for the looks.
ㄴ For someone like that, they seemed to be doing good damage though? To get the full outfit set at once, you need 3 essences, which means you have to deal a lot of damage.

I got a bit of sleep and a quick meal, then logged back in right on time for the field boss's spawn.
The Orc Warrior's respawn time was about half a day in real-time, which was quite long.
It took killing it three more times before I was finally able to obtain both the Orc Warrior accessory and weapon.
I beamed as I looked at the weapon I got from this field boss hunt.
[Orc Warrior's Sword]
[Rare Grade]
[Attack Power 30]
[Upon a successful Block, damage is reduced by an additional 5%.]
A rare weapon with a special option that even improves the performance of the 'Block' skill!
Its attack power was 10 points higher than the common-grade Militia weapon that cost 10 silver.
Shop-bought weapons were common grade.
Weapons like this, obtainable from field monsters, were rare grade.
And in the elite dungeons that players hadn't yet conquered, elite grade weapons would drop.
Of course, there would be higher grades, but according to beta tester information, only weapons up to elite grade had been confirmed.
Fortunately, the weapon's class wasn't random when you used an essence.
If you obtained a weapon through a field boss's essence, you would get a weapon for the user's class.

[Level 14 (90.27%)]
My time hunting in the Orc Forest was coming to an end.
Having hunted nonstop with only minimal breaks while waiting for the field boss, I was now on the verge of level 15.
Once I hit level 15, I could finally enter the first elite dungeon.
I'd heard that in the areas after level 15, the monster specs increased so much that you couldn't hunt there unless you'd finished farming everything in the current area's elite dungeon.
Judging by the conversations of passing players, it seemed parties were already being formed among level 15 players to tackle the first elite dungeon.
"Hmm."
I looked toward the first elite dungeon, visible from the edge of the Orc Forest.
[Entry Level: 15]
[Elite Dungeon (4-Player Party Recommended)]
[Cave of the Orc King]
Party play... I don't like it.
Well, they probably made it so you can clear it alone, right?
