Sudden Mission: Become the boss. 1
Sudden Mission: Become the boss. 1
Walking the night road alone.
A light kiss.
Couldn't avoid it.
Damn it. It keeps coming to mind.
Even after regressing, I'm not immune to this kind of thing.
I do need to get stronger if I want to protect one girl, though.
First, let's settle the points.
The points I got from trashing Park So-mi's gang at school today are +4.
Strength is related to power.
Agility is speed.
And I recently learned that as Stamina goes up, my durability improves and my body gets tougher.
That played a part in being able to win against a 22-year-old semi-pro about to debut.
Intelligence allows using skills.
My eyes drifted to one side.
Grit.
It's still a mystery what it's used for.
But seeing as Intelligence is used for skills, this guy is bound to be useful too.
I don't know. Just going all-in on Grit.
[Status Window: Gangster Minion (LV 6)]
Stamina: 12
Strength: 13
Agility: 13
Grit: 15
Intelligence: 15
Remaining: 0
Level Up Points: 4/15
[Skill: 1/1 Shadow Walk]
I'll find out soon enough.
Kang Ho-cheol couldn't stand it.
It wasn't just anyone, but his girlfriend who got beaten like a dog; if he just sat still, he'd be called a loser for sure.
He immediately contacted the Iljin from the 3rd and 2nd years.
It was a rushed gathering, but including himself, there were 10 people.
The difference in size between him and Seo Young-jin was obvious from the start.
Since the physical difference was clear, he didn't think he would lose. But this fight wasn't just a simple fistfight. He covered up the shame gnawing at his heart by telling himself the purpose was to teach the cocky bastard a lesson.
"You fucking bastard. I'm going to kill you tonight. Everyone, be prepared. We're doing this thinking we're really going to jail today. If I see anyone not doing it properly, you'll die by my hand first. Get your heads in the game."
Kang Ho-cheol took the lead, and the Iljin followed in a line behind him.
They headed to the neighborhood of Young-jin that they had checked beforehand.
I walk slowly through the dark alley to get home.
Passing the convenience store and crossing the intersection, a shadow loitering ahead caught my eye.
Since regressing and gaining abilities, I've lost my fear, but a presence hidden in the darkness triggers an instinctive fear and repulsion.
It would be weird to turn back without knowing what the opponent is, so I walk while staying alert.
By the time I got close, the guys hiding in front revealed themselves.
Seeing the guy in the lead, I get it.
Kang Ho-cheol. Since I made his girlfriend's face look like that, it's only natural he'd come for revenge.
He brought two minions on either side. A sneer escaped me.
Is that bastard delusional? Or just stupid.
Just then, I heard a sound from behind.
Three guys appeared behind me too. And two more from each of the side alleys.
There are 10 in total. Some of them are even holding wooden clubs.
I was mistaken. He actually prepared quite a bit.
There are three 3rd years, and the rest are 1st and 2nd years.
Well, even so, since they're guys called Iljin in their grades, they aren't small.
They're big enough to stall for time or hit me from behind.
Can I take on 10 people at once with my current skill?
The most I've fought at once so far was 3. And that was by ambushing and taking out one or two first. But now I'm fighting while surrounded by 10?
I decided to live as I please, but there's no need to be reckless.
If I knew this would happen, I would've invested more in Agility or Stamina. I regret wasting those 4 points.
Then a notification window popped up.
Ding-ding.
[Sudden Mission: Grit Test]
A special perk prepared for you, whose Grit is higher than other abilities.
Fight the school boss.
Subjugate the opponent and become the school boss yourself.
As a special reward, you will receive +2 Grit.
Fuck.
So this is what happens when your Grit is high.
I don't know if this is helpful or not.
Just then, Kang Ho-cheol opened his mouth.
"You fucking bastard. You. Uh. Catch him, that bastard!"
No reason to listen.
I run to the left.
The guys who were tense rush at me, trying to grab and drag me down.
I jump wide to the left to confuse them, then dive into the piloti of the villa on the side. Running between the parked cars, I step on a car hood and jump over. A wooden club that was a step too late smashed the car's windshield.
Pak!
Beep-beep-beep-beep.
The anti-theft alarm activated, and the car blared loudly.
In the meantime, I jump over the cars and exit the parking lot, but one guy is blocking the path ahead.
I throw my body into a wrestling-style tackle.
We roll on the ground as one lump.
Using the opponent as a cushion to soften the impact, I stand up and run.
Another guy blocks the front and swings a wooden club.
The others are already close behind.
If I back off here, I'll get caught again.
There's no time to wait, so the only way is to tank it.
I raise my arms, keeping them tight against my face, and dive in.
I take the swinging wooden club on my forearm.
Puck!
The impact is throbbing.
Fuck. It's a pain that brings tears to my eyes, but I can't miss this chance.
I shove the guy whose hands are tied up from swinging the club, and run at full speed.
My Agility is 13. That's enough to be semi-pro level in running too.
Watching the guys following me, I weave through the alleys. The distance widened quickly.
If I can just create distance, I have a way.
As soon as I turn the corner and get out of their sight, I dive into the dark shadow between streetlights.
I use the skill.
Shadow Walk.
My body melted into the shadow.
The guys who turned the corner late are flustered to see the empty alley.
"Uh. Isn't it this way?"
"Uh. Fuck. Where did he go?"
Kang Ho-cheol, who followed, looks into the alley and urges the confused guys.
"Fuck. You three go that way, and the rest follow me! Split up and find him!"
The guys who received Kang Ho-cheol's orders grouped up in twos and threes and ran blindly along the alley.
Hiding in the shadow, I watched them with tension.
Shadow Walk. I can hide my body in the shadow for a 30-second time limit.
This actually works. Watching the guys disappear into the alley, I quietly grabbed one side and followed.
Fucking bastards.
From now on, it's time for me to hunt.
I track the guys who ran to the left.
I saw two guys running through the alley, looking around, unable to get their bearings.
I followed right behind them.
5 seconds left until the 30-second time limit.
I picked up a piece of roof tile that had fallen on the ground.
- 1.
I popped out of the darkness and struck the shoulder of the guy in front with the tile in my hand.
Can't kill him, so.
Puck!
"Argh!"
The guy whose shoulder was smashed fell forward, and the other guy, hearing the sound, was startled and instinctively backed away.
I jumped at him and landed a right straight.
The fist, slightly deflected by his guard, grazed his eye area.
Stepping out with my left foot, this time a left hook struck his abdomen, loosening his guard, and I hit his left temple again.
Puck!
The guy I hit collapsed.
The guy with the smashed shoulder lying on the ground screamed.
"Fuck. The son of a bitch is here!"
Doesn't matter. It'll take at least 10 more seconds for them to get here anyway.
I kicked his face with a soccer kick, and he went quiet, seemingly knocked out.
I heard the sound of running coming from the alley on the other side.
I ran in the opposite direction.
Da-da-da-da-da.
The guys who ran from behind spotted me and shouted.
"Catch that bastard!"
But I had already turned the alley corner.
And Shadow Walk again.
My body disappeared again.
The guys who followed missed me again.
"Where the hell did that son of a bitch go again."
"This way!"
The guys disappeared, and I returned from under the shade.
I saw two other guys helping up the two guys who had collapsed on the ground.
That makes four. One more Shadow Walk left.
Kang Ho-cheol was dumbfounded.
Seo Young-jin, this cowardly bastard, was running around the alleys and ambushing the guys who were chasing him, reducing their numbers.
Six of the guys he brought had been taken down.
They had broken bones or concussion symptoms and couldn't fight properly.
There was no point in continuing to fight like this.
Choosing this place to fight was a mistake.
Fuck, I should've controlled my temper and killed him at school tomorrow.
If we had fought in broad daylight at school, I would've stomped him to death.
I realized it was a mistake to fight in a neighborhood this bastard was familiar with.
In the end, I decided to turn back for today.
I had two of the remaining four guys take care of the ones who got hit, and I came down from the neighborhood with the one guy left.
"Son of a bitch. I'm going to kill you at school tomorrow. A piece of shit hiding in the alleys. Fuck."
Kang Ho-cheol kept cursing as he walked down the road, as if for someone to hear.
He didn't want to look like he was backing down out of fear.
Huffing and puffing as he walked, he soon exited the neighborhood.
Now, just past that corner is the main road, and there should be a bus stop.
Feeling a sense of relief, Kang Ho-cheol cursed once more.
"Fucking bastard. Tell everyone to be on standby tomorrow. That fucking asshole, I'm going to crush his limbs tomorrow."
Da-da-da-da-da.
While he was making noise, there was the sound of running from behind.
He looked back, and a pitch-black shadow pounced on the minion next to Kang Ho-cheol.
Thud.
As soon as he climbed on top of the guy he'd tackled, he grabbed his jaw to hold it steady. Then he rained down ground and pound.
Puck! Puck!
In just two hits, the guy's nose bridge was crushed, and his eyes went unfocused.
Kang Ho-cheol just stood there, not knowing what to do at the sudden turn of events.
The guy who had smashed his opponent slowly stood up.
It was Seo Young-jin. Seo Young-jin opened his mouth.
"Where do you think you're running off to, you fucking bastard? If you came, you have to see it through to the end."
Kang Ho-cheol's face twisted.
