"What the hell is that guy?"
In the jeep, Jin Kyung-ho stared with a blank expression.
"Isn't he insane?"
Go Cheon-su was mowing down zombies with just a single hammer, pulling off a one-man army. He looked like he'd get pushed back by the zombies any second, but the scene was utterly incomprehensible.
"I need to take him out myself."
Even after the world had turned upside down, some people still clung to the idea of police authority. The police chief had played along, but Jin Kyung-ho had no intention of doing so.
"I'll kill anyone who gets in my way!"
Clunk-clunk.
Jin Kyung-ho shifted gears and floored the accelerator again. His target was, naturally, Go Cheon-su.
Vroooom!
The jeep shot forward like it was sliding on ice, barreling straight toward Go Cheon-su.
"Shit!"
Go Cheon-su spotted the vehicle and hurled himself to the side. Jin Kyung-ho's eyes widened as he watched Go Cheon-su spring away like a coiled spring.
"What the fuck is this guy!"
The movement he'd just pulled off was blatantly superhuman. No normal body could dodge a car like that.
"You thought that was the end...!"
Jin Kyung-ho reversed the jeep and aimed it at the fallen Go Cheon-su once more.
"I'll flatten you completely!"
Crunch!
Something got thoroughly crushed under the tires. Jin Kyung-ho's face lit up for a moment.
"That's more like it!"
He was just a regular human after all. Crush him flat here, then head back and seize control of Myeongseo Elementary School—that was the plan.
"Let's see what you look like now."
Jin Kyung-ho backed up the jeep further. Then, a few zombies that had been run over dragged along behind it.
"Huh?"
But Go Cheon-su was nowhere to be seen. Jin Kyung-ho scanned the surroundings. Even after pulling back more, there was no sign of him, so he scowled.
Roooar.
Through the window, he could only see zombies staggering to their feet.
Thud!
That's when it happened. Someone latched onto the driver's side window.
"Gah!"
It was Go Cheon-su, completely covered in zombie guts. Startled, Jin Kyung-ho slammed the jeep into reverse again.
Bam! Crunch!
Go Cheon-su chased after the vehicle, swinging his elbow at the driver's window.
"Argh! What the fuck is this guy!"
Shatter!
The window finally broke, and Go Cheon-su's hand reached inside. Jin Kyung-ho smacked it away with his shoulder and fumbled for his waistband.
"Let go! Get off!"
In his panic, he yanked out his pistol.
"Fuck off!"
He fired a shot, but by then Go Cheon-su had vanished under the jeep. As Jin Kyung-ho grabbed the wheel to shove him away, Go Cheon-su reappeared at the window and thrust his arm in again.
"Waaah!"
Jin Kyung-ho kicked the arm away once more, his face twisted in utter terror. Go Cheon-su was far scarier than he'd imagined.
Bang!
The moment he fired, Go Cheon-su disappeared under the jeep again. Jin Kyung-ho reversed at full speed this time.
Vroooom.
As he glanced back while reversing, he looked forward again to see Go Cheon-su charging from a distance. His expression looked completely pissed off.
"This bastard...!"
Feeling fear creep in, Jin Kyung-ho's defiance flared.
"Who the hell do you think you're messing with!"
He had a way to deal with him. He'd set a trap here in advance. Knowing Go Cheon-su would keep chasing, Jin Kyung-ho reversed quickly.
Of course, Go Cheon-su pursued the jeep relentlessly.
Vroooom.
The moment they burst out of the bamboo grove in reverse, Jin Kyung-ho steered toward the pre-marked container house.
"I'll teach you a lesson!"
As Go Cheon-su closed in on the container house, Jin Kyung-ho pulled a button from the glove box and pressed it.
Clunk.
The container house door swung open in response.
Rooooar!
Inside were hordes of gathered zombies.
"Too late for regrets...!"
Jin Kyung-ho sneered vilely as he sped away from the scene. All that remained were the swarm of zombies and Go Cheon-su.
But Go Cheon-su raised his hammer with a grin.
"Assembling in 2 minutes."
500%.
There's a saying in the world: "It ain't over till it's over."
Grroooar.
A zombie with the hammer lodged in its mouth let out a muffled roar. Go Cheon-su flexed his forearm and yanked the hammer free.
Splorch!
The zombie's jaw shattered, and it flailed before collapsing. Go Cheon-su smashed the hammer into its skull as it fell.
Kill confirmed.
Rooooar.
But plenty of zombies remained. Gritting his teeth at the horde pushing forward with sheer numbers, Go Cheon-su realized the odds were bad.
'Not good!'
His strength was immense, but avoiding injury while holding the line was getting tough. As he shoved zombies back, his eyes widened.
The jeep had stopped within sight, as if watching him get overwhelmed.
Aggro time was almost up. It would reactivate after cooldown, but that wasn't the point for Go Cheon-su.
'That bastard first... I'll crush him!'
Catch him at peak Aggro. That single-minded resolve surged into his legs. His calves and thighs twitched with explosive muscle.
500%.
His body erupted forward in a blast of speed.
His old 100m time of 14 seconds was irrelevant now. The distance to the jeep shrank to mere seconds.
"Got you...!"
He arrived. Skidding to a halt beside the driver's seat after his sprint.
"Wha—Police Chief, moving from Myeongseo Elementary... What?!"
Jin Kyung-ho, mid-instruction over the long-range radio, froze in shock.
"You little...!"
He dropped the radio and scrambled for his gun, but Go Cheon-su shoved his body through the window faster.
"Guh, gaaah?!"
Jin Kyung-ho's hand was grabbed and twisted by Go Cheon-su.
"Jin Kyung-ho. You thought you could win?"
Jin Kyung-ho's face contorted completely at Go Cheon-su's words.
"Wh-what the hell are you?!"
"A streamer."
Go Cheon-su crushed both of Jin Kyung-ho's hands as he spoke.
"The big bros love me tons."
"Gaaaaah!"
As Jin Kyung-ho crumpled, zombies swarmed from behind.
Aggro ended and reactivated. Noting the new record, Go Cheon-su climbed fully into the driver's seat.
"I'll drive, so get out."
He dragged the near-unconscious Jin Kyung-ho to the passenger seat and took the wheel himself.
"All you do is make shit complicated."
Sweeping back his hair, Go Cheon-su shifted gears and hit the gas. The four-wheel-drive beast roared forward.
"Showtime."
Boom! Bang! Thud!
The jeep lived up to its name. Remaining zombies bounced off in head-on collisions or became roadkill.
Vrooooom.
Toppling zombies like bowling pins, Go Cheon-su drove straight into the bamboo grove.
"Wonder if that guy's still alive."
He'd be safe if he'd hunkered down alone in the container house, but a stray zombie inside meant no guarantees.
Screech.
Reaching the destination, Go Cheon-su found handcuffs in the jeep.
He didn't have the luxury for games.
"Better cuff his ankle or something, right?"
With a wry chuckle, he moved on. Go Cheon-su cuffed Jin Kyung-ho's wrist to the passenger handle.
"Actually, no need for this?"
Jin Kyung-ho's hands were mangled wrecks. Even cuffed, the shattered bones meant he could probably slip free.
"Grab one~!"
No way he could drive with those anyway. Go Cheon-su took the gun and stun gun from him. Unlucky—only one bullet left.
Stick to the hammer basics. Stepping out, he approached the container house with hammer in hand.
Knock knock knock.
"Heo Young-woong?"
No response from inside.
"It's Go Cheon-su."
Still nothing. He tried the handle— it turned slightly.
Go Cheon-su eased the door open cautiously.
"Heo Young-woong?"
What the hell had happened?
TongueOnYourNeck donated 1 Zen! - Slurp.
"Ah, thanks Slurp-nim."
Go Cheon-su blurted it out loud before grimacing.
"Damn. Slurp-nim, I'm hyper-focused here and you make me greet?"
"I was hyper-focused for you, Slurp-nim. Yeah? Thanks for the 1 Zen."
Chats exploded about the name slip again, but he needed to focus now. Go Cheon-su pressed a finger to his lips.
"Shh."
A sound came from inside. He strained his ears.
'No way he turned zombie, right?'
He raised the hammer high. More Aggro would confirm it instantly.
Rustle.
What he found was a large box.
"What the—?"
Kicking the box, a shrill scream leaked out.
"Eek!"
"Heo Young-woong."
Opening the lid, Go Cheon-su peered in with a chuckle.
"What're you doing in here?"
Heo Young-woong was curled up inside, a fuzzy hat pulled low—probably why he hadn't heard the knocks.
"Come on out."
Pulled to his feet by Go Cheon-su, Heo Young-woong took in the scene and gaped.
"G-Go Cheon-su? How are you here...?"
"Cleared 'em all out. What're you doing cowering like this? Well, glad you're fine."
"Uh, um."
Heo Young-woong groaned.
"It was scary. Used up all my ammo... Sorry."
"It's fine. Come on out quick. No time."
Go Cheon-su dragged him outside. On the way to the jeep, Heo Young-woong spotted Jin Kyung-ho in the passenger seat and jumped.
"S-Sir?!"
Staring at the unconscious man with mangled hands, he looked baffled.
"What happened to the captain? Zombie? A zombie did this?!"
"..."
"He's completely smashed... What the hell happened?"
"Get in first."
Go Cheon-su said quietly, gripping the gear shift.
"But explain what—"
"Get in."
"What's going—"
"Officer Heo Young-woong."
Go Cheon-su calmly pointed to the back seat.
"Sit there and ask. Won't be too late."
He understood the shock, but they needed to move—no time for calming down. Hopefully, some police grit would carry him through.
With priorities set, Heo Young-woong awkwardly climbed into the back.
"I'll explain on the way."
Confirming everyone aboard, Go Cheon-su hit the gas.
'No police chief here.'
Luckily, he'd overheard Jin Kyung-ho. No clue how much got relayed to Myeongseo Elementary since he dropped the radio.
For now, it was okay. He'd left a spy at Myeongseo Elementary anyway. That sufficed.
"Go Cheon-su."
As the jeep sped down the road, Heo Young-woong asked.
"What exactly happened? Is the captain okay?"
"Not the issue right now."
The captain had betrayed the police chief. Planned to off the boss, take over the cops, and screw everyone else.
"Jin Kyung-ho teamed up with other cops to take out the chief."
"What?!"
"So if you wanna smack him, do it now. He's out cold—won't feel a few more hits."
Revenge was just beginning.
"I'll handle the rest."
