Chapter 121: Side Story - Younger Sister (4)
Chapter 121: Side Story - Younger Sister (4)
Morning came, and Kang Yu-dam groaned, trying to get up while clutching her head, which felt like it was about to split from a hangover. She eventually gave up.
She wrapped the blanket around herself, curling up like a caterpillar.
She didn't sob or whine, but anyone could tell she was in poor shape.
Even so, the thought that she had to behave properly as the eldest sibling spurred her on. She tried her best to push herself up, but—
"Mmm..."
At the sound of someone tossing and turning right beside her, Yu-dam stopped and glanced over. There was Yu-ri, who looked like she had been sleeping face-down under the covers until just a moment ago.
"Unnie..."
"Yeah...?"
"I'm cold..."
Oops. Yu-dam unwound the blanket she had wrapped around herself to cover Yu-ri instead. Yu-ri moved sluggishly, patting her lower back as if it were sore.
"Not this... hug me..."
Despite her splitting headache and the chills running through her body as if she were catching a cold, Yu-dam managed a smile.
She knew well that Yu-ri’s natural playfulness and affectionate nature had always acted as the lubricant for the family.
And, because she was quite fond of Yu-ri herself, Yu-dam didn't stop at just draping the blanket over her; she pulled her youngest sister into a tight embrace.
A faint, fishy odor mixed with the scent of sweat subtly pricked her nose.
She didn't know what the smell was, so she just let it be.
While the sisters were tangled together in bed, Kang Yu-jin woke up on the sofa first. Suppressing a dull ache in his lower back, he began preparing breakfast.
The events of last night were still vivid.
The thrill of almost getting caught, and the heat that had flared up between the siblings during their first unprotected encounter in a long while.
To calm that feverish heat, they had proven their love for each other with a frequency that felt almost manic.
As a result, Yu-ri was bedridden with a strained back, and Yu-jin was letting out low groans from his own aching waist.
He briefly wondered why no one in the house was physically intact, then glanced around before fishing the packaging of the emergency contraceptive pill he had bought in advance out of the trash and tucking it into his bag.
"Noona."
"...Mmm."
"I'm going to the convenience store for a bit. Stay with Yu-ri."
"Got it..."
The eldest Noona barely managed a response through her groans. Yu-jin wondered if her work at the company was really that exhausting as he stood up and headed out.
He needed to dispose of the used condoms and the pill packaging in his bag, and also buy some hangover remedies and other supplies.
By the time Yu-jin returned home, both his sisters were fast asleep.
He didn't think it was a waste that he'd bought the supplies, but he was surprised they hadn't woken up despite how long he'd been gone.
He hadn't wanted to throw the trash away just anywhere, and he felt hesitant about pulling a bag full of used condoms out in front of people commuting to work, so he had intentionally gone quite far.
And yet, they still weren't up. Yu-jin set down two bottles of hangover remedy and headed to the kitchen.
He heated up some retort porridge and transferred it to a pot to boil. Soon, the aroma filled the studio apartment.
The room wasn't exactly cramped, but it wasn't spacious either, so the smell spread quickly.
And that smell was particularly effective on an empty stomach after a night of drinking.
"...Jin-ah..."
A lingering, weak voice called out. Yu-jin stirred the porridge for a moment before turning his head.
"Noona, come eat."
"Mmm... thanks..."
"Yu-ri, you too."
Unlike the eldest Noona, who stumbled out of bed, Yu-ri couldn't get up easily. It was either because of her aching back or the hangover.
Instead of standing up, Yu-ri clung to her older sister like a sloth, burying her face in that large chest and mumbling.
"Later..."
"You have to eat breakfast."
"Ugh... I wanna sleep more..."
As she spoke, she kneaded her sister's breast like dough. Watching her, Yu-jin felt a momentary flash of envy.
No matter how close a family was, there were things one couldn't do with the opposite gender. His eldest Noona’s breasts, the largest in the family after their mother’s, were something that had once led Yu-jin into deep temptation.
Yu-jin quickly pushed those thoughts aside and nodded toward his Noona.
"It's all ready. You just have to eat. Wake Yu-ri up."
"Yeah, I will."
The eldest Noona yawned while covering her mouth and shuffled forward, while the younger sister, who had been hanging onto her, flopped back onto the bed.
Leaving them behind, Yu-jin set the porridge on the table.
"What about kimchi?"
"I'll eat it..."
Kimchi and porridge. It was a simple meal with nothing else added, but it was the perfect diet for recovering from a hangover.
"Yu-ri."
"I know... my head hurts, so don't yell..."
"I didn't yell."
"Yes, you did..."
"Fine, fine. Sorry."
Only after his younger sister shuffled over like a zombie and sat down could the three Kang siblings finally begin their meal.
It was hard to call it a typical family breakfast. Could a meal where one person was hungover and another was in a state of total exhaustion ever be considered normal?
As he ate, Yu-jin kept a wary eye on his eldest Noona, fearing she might notice something.
That was how bold and dangerous the actions of Yu-jin and Yu-ri had been the night before.
It was blatant incest—the kind where it wouldn't be strange to be caught at any moment, and where a sister who wasn't drunk could figure out the truth if she thought about it long enough.
If she started questioning him, Yu-jin couldn't even guess how long he’d last before spilling the truth.
He’d probably confess immediately. Especially if the one asking was his eldest Noona.
If it were Yu-min, he could have brushed it off by calling her disgusting and then comforted Yu-ri.
But Kang Yu-dam, his eldest Noona, was the second sharpest person Yu-jin knew.
Fortunately, the situation Yu-jin feared didn't happen.
"Jin-ah, the kimchi... it's too far for me to reach."
"Ah, here."
"Oppa, feed me some kimchi."
"Eat it yourself."
"Hmph, you're only cold to me. So mean."
Yu-jin met Yu-ri’s eyes as she spoke with a forced pout. He could read the dangerously suggestive glint hidden beneath her pupils, which was exactly why he didn't treat her with his usual warmth.
He was afraid that if they were too close or too casual, he’d make a mistake and reveal everything.
The meal, continued in tension, was fortunately just porridge, so there was no risk of indigestion. A long while later, Yu-jin let out a sigh of relief as he stacked the three empty bowls and moved them to the sink.
He turned on the faucet to wash the dishes, the sound of running water drowning out most other noises.
Then, he noticed Yu-ri had approached his side.
"I'll help."
"Oh, okay."
With her body pressed close enough for their sides to touch, she spoke while keeping an eye on their eldest sister.
"...She doesn't seem to know, right?"
The subject was omitted, but the meaning was obvious. Yu-jin almost nodded but caught himself.
"Yeah, I don't think she knows."
Of course, she could be pretending not to know, or waiting for a chance to confirm her suspicions.
According to Yu-jin’s assessment, unlike the 'stupid Yu-min,' his eldest Noona was smart enough to have been practically handpicked as the company successor. She was more than capable of such a thing.
Of course, that would require a certain level of deviousness, but Yu-jin figured it was natural for a person to become cautious in such an abnormal situation.
He didn't think they should let their guard down completely, but he didn't see a need to be overly tense either.
For that reason, Yu-jin naturally changed the subject.
"Is your back okay?"
"...Not really. It still hurts."
"Sorry."
"Don't be sorry. It just means Oppa... likes me that much, so I actually liked it."
Yu-ri gave a soft giggle. Her busy hands left a dish and took hold of Yu-jin’s hand.
She naturally interlaced their fingers, stroking the gaps between them, leaving behind a lingering sensation even more cloying than her sticky smile.
"I love you."
Yu-jin couldn't bring himself to be firm with Yu-ri when she was like this.
The reason he shared a bed with his sister, acted like her lover, and spent intimate time with her despite all the risks and the nature of their relationship was purely because of that.
He had even chosen his university with only that in mind.
A university far enough from home that he had to live on his own, but one where he could live together with her once she eventually got a job at their father's company.
Yu-jin had chosen his college for that single reason. Entirely to commit incest with his sister.
And hadn't those efforts clearly paid off?
They couldn't do it now because their Noona was here, but Yu-jin and Yu-ri’s usual life was saturated with the results of that effort.
Sharing their bodies, falling asleep tangled together.
A cohabitation that was as comfortable and heart-fluttering as a newlywed couple's.
Yu-jin didn't want that life to be taken away.
"Jin-ah?"
"Uh, yeah?"
"What are you two talking about?"
"Oh... just what to eat for lunch?"
"You just ate and you're already thinking about that? You're a pig, a total pig."
The eldest Noona laughed brightly and playfully patted her brother's butt. Yu-jin felt awkward at the gesture, but he saw Yu-ri’s eyes darken right beside him.
Her thoughts were as clear as day. How dare she sexually harass my man?—that was likely the sentiment.
Yu-jin quickly changed the subject to soothe Yu-ri.
"What do you want to eat, Noona?"
"Hmm? No, I'm going to head out now. I need to wash up at home, change, and go work out. Mom's been pestering me because she doesn't want to go alone."
She held up her smartphone to show him. Yu-jin nodded after seeing the messages on the screen.
The cold tone of the pestering was unmistakably their mother.
"That's a shame, though. I haven't seen you in a while."
"If you're that sad, come home more often. You always just say that."
Yu-jin could only watch silently as his Noona, who had just pinched his cheek, headed for the entrance—mostly because Yu-ri had stepped on his foot to keep him in place.
"I'm going now, Unnie! Rest up!"
"Come back again soon, Unnie!"
"See you, Noona."
"Yeah, I will~"
The Noona opened the front door and stepped out. Only after the door closed and the electronic lock clicked shut did the siblings turn off the kitchen faucet that had been running until then.
They were alone again. Yu-jin glanced at his sister, and Yu-ri gave a sweet smile and tilted her head.
"Shall we wash up first?"
"Let's. I feel gross."
The siblings were already well-accustomed to acting like a newlywed couple.
