Chapter Title: The Demon Created by Zeref is Very Dangerous?!
-------------------------------------
"Just which quest did that brat Evan accept?!"
Makarov arrived in front of the S-Class quest board on the second floor. Looking at the clean and tidy quest sheets one by one, he somewhat confusedly scratched his thinning hair, because he didn't see exactly which quest Evan had accepted.
"Could it be that he accepted a regular quest?!
No, that’s absolutely impossible...
He’s not that kind of well-behaved person..."
The Guild Master originally wanted to go down to the regular quest board below to take a look, but he stopped for a moment. Evan was the kind of person who could get along well with Gildarts. He absolutely wouldn't obediently and properly complete those low-level quests.
But the S-Class quest sheets indeed hadn't been touched by anyone...
"Could it be..."
Thinking up to here, Makarov seemed to have guessed something. His expression showed shock, and then he ran in a panic to the place where the SS-Class and even higher-ranked quest boards were stored...
It wasn't until he arrived at the board that he discovered that it, which hadn't been cleaned by anyone for several years, had been swept very clean. And on this board covered with quests, a quest sheet was indeed missing.
"Just as I thought! That idiot Evan!"
Makarov cursed under his breath as he looked at the missing quest sheet.
"I remember that the quest here was...
Eh, strange, why can't I remember it?!
It's clearly right on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't remember it..."
Makarov looked at the empty space in front of him and thought hard, pondering exactly which quest he had placed here. But the quest sheets here had truly stayed untouched for too long. He thought bitterly for a long while and still couldn't remember what quest it was.
"Master! Evan registered the quest he went to complete at the registration desk!"
Just as Makarov was racking his brains, Macao's voice rang out from downstairs.
"Hmm?!"
Hearing the latter’s shout, the old man immediately leaped down, arrived in front of Macao, and asked.
"Exactly which quest did Evan go do?!"
"Uh, the quest Evan took was...
Master, it's better if you look at it yourself!"
Macao looked at Makarov with a somewhat hesitant expression. After thinking for a while, he placed the quest registration form in front of the Guild Master.
"This is..."
Makarov looked at the quest registration form with Evan's name on it that the other had handed him, his eyes widening.
"...Subjugate Deliora?!
That idiot Evan! He actually chose this quest, of all things!
I don't care who it is, hurry up and bring that boy back for me. That quest isn’t something the current him can go do!"
Looking at the quest Evan had selected, Makarov felt as if his lungs were going to explode from anger.
Deliora was a powerful demon created by the legendary Black Wizard Zeref!
According to historical records, Deliora already had a history of several hundred years on this continent. If it weren't for a powerful senior mage sacrificing their own life to seal that demon, who knows what kind of destruction it would have caused...
However, the original seal on Deliora was undone by someone for some unknown reason over ten years ago...
Allowing the demon to obtain a new life. On the very first day that it broke out from its seal, it destroyed a town. It was truly cruel to the extreme!
It fully displayed the demeanor of an evil demon created by the Black Wizard Zeref!
In other words, the quest Evan accepted to subjugate the demon Deliora wasn’t an SS-Class quest, but a genuine 10-Year quest!
If it weren't for the fact that Deliora had been sealed by a mage and had only recently been unsealed, it was possible for it to be given an even higher rank by the Magic Council...
As long as a quest of this level was completed, one would basically be immediately granted the title of Wizard Saint by the Magic Council!
"Master, aren't you making too much of a fuss over nothing? Evan’s someone who had fought Gildarts to a draw. I find it hard to imagine what quest there is in this world that he can’t complete."
Macao looked at the anxious Makarov and persuaded him softly.
"Idiot! Is subjugating a great demon created by Zeref a small matter? Even the Ten Wizard Saints might not necessarily be able to do it!
Although Evan's strength is extraordinary, he’s still too young, and he lacks experience! In case he falls for some bizarre magic, accidents are unavoidable..."
Makarov wasn’t questioning Evan's strength. He was just worried that the boy’s lack of experience would lead to him making a mistake. When dealing with a demon created by the Black Wizard Zeref, any small mistake was fatal.
"No, I must bring Evan back...
Macao, I'll leave the guild to you for now. If any problem crops up, find a way to smooth them over first, and then wait for me to return to handle them..."
The Guild Master’s expression was tense. He temporarily put Macao in charge, and then he ran out of the guild to chase after Evan.
"L-Leave it to me?!"
Macao hadn't expected the old man to hand over the guild's matters to him, and he instantly became somewhat smug.
"Could it be that the Master means to groom me as the next generation's Guild Master?"
As Macao spoke, he was already fantasizing in his mind about becoming the Guild Master of Fairy Tail, haughtily ordering the guild members to do things for him.
"Hey! I'm going to take a quest!"
Not long after Makarov left the guild, Laxus stood up from his seat. He planned to go and complete a quest, and moreover...
He planned to take advantage of the fact that the old man was currently away to try and complete an S-Class quest...
"Umm..."
Macao looked at the blond boy, wanting to say something.
"Ah?!"
Laxus furrowed his brows, and golden electric light flashed on his body.
"Uh, it's nothing..."
Looking at the angered Laxus, Macao was so scared that his neck shrank back, and he retreated several steps. In an instant, his Guild Master dream shattered completely.
"Good that it's nothing..."
As Laxus spoke, he put his hands in his pockets and directly jumped up to the second floor. He arrived in front of the S-Class quest board and prepared to find a quest that suited him.
At the same time...
Erza used Communication Magic to link up with Irene.
"Irene, something terrible has happened, Big Brother Evan went to subjugate Deliora!"
Erza informed her mother of what she had heard exactly as it was.
"Erza, you should call me Mother instead!"
Irene first corrected Erza's form of address, and only then did she begin to understand the matter regarding Deliora from Erza.
"So what exactly is this Deliora thing?"
"Deliora seems to be a demon created by the Black Wizard Zeref!
I heard that its strength is extraordinary, and it’s very cruel!
It has already destroyed many towns and has been active on the continent for over ten years, yet it still hasn't been subjugated by mages!
The ones who previously went to subjugate the demon all failed as well...
Big Brother Evan, he won't..."
Erza recounted the rumors she had heard regarding Deliora to Irene.
"Ah? Zeref, I see. I think I've heard some rumors about that guy before...
So, those random cats and dogs he created can actually kill people?"
After Irene thought hard, she asked Erza this in confusion.
Erza: "..."
Irene felt doubtful in her heart. She had lived on the Ishgar Continent for many years, so she had also seen some guys claiming to be Demons of the Book of Zeref, but they were all just minor characters that she had slapped to death with a single palm.
-------------------------------------
Author's Note: Deliora's subjugation quest wasn't mentioned in the original work, nor was its rank stated. I think there should be one, and since Deliora is a demon that even a Wizard Saint gatekeeper-level mage like Ur couldn't take down without using Iced Shell, I set it as a 10-Year quest level~
-------------------------------------
T/N - Lol, Irene being confused about Deliora being dangerous is hilarious. She really would just instant-kill the thing if she fought it. The Guild Master should really have more faith in the MC. The boy fought Gildarts to a standstill, after all. Though I do understand that power and experience are two different things, and the MC does lack the latter even with his meta knowledge.
