Chapter 218: What I Want to Do (7)
Deferred tasks are like time bombs, liable to go off at any moment.
Whether it’s postponed homework, an overdue assignment, or neglected housework—anything put off simply because it’s a hassle eventually rolls back around as a massive snowball. When it comes to matters that are a headache to begin with, I can’t even imagine how much they might grow.
I’ve never exactly "shelved" the issues regarding me and my girlfriends. It’s just that since these aren't problems that can be solved instantly and require time, I’ve pushed them back a little.
That doesn't mean they ever dropped in priority.
However, regardless of the reason, the fact remains that I put them off for a while.
The fact that I’m living at Su-ah’s place is one of those things.
You might wonder what the problem is with just living there, but I have five girlfriends.
And I’m living in the house of only one of them.
Even though the other girlfriends come and go from Su-ah’s place as if it were their own to see me, Su-ah’s house is ultimately Su-ah’s house, and the others have homes of their own.
The current situation might look like it’s stabilizing, but in reality, everyone has just been turning a blind eye to avoid the hassle of addressing it.
"Green is moving into Yellow’s place too?"
The issue that no one had been willing to bring to the surface was suddenly hauled up by Eunha.
"Yes."
"……."
At Eunha’s shy confirmation, Yubin lost her words and stared at her blankly.
"W-why all of a sudden?"
"It wasn't a sudden decision. I’ve been thinking about it for a while."
I hadn't heard anything about Eunha moving, either. Naturally, I’d never considered the possibility of her moving into Su-ah’s place.
After all, it hadn't been that long since Eunha moved into her current home. She’d moved in just before the bombing incident, so it had only been about three months.
"There’s the money issue, and I always have to come to Yellow’s place for meetings anyway. Plus, Oppa is here."
She likely weighed various factors, but I suspected the last reason was the most important one.
The world already knows how physically strong my girlfriends are; I don't even need to say it.
But I know that mentally, they aren't quite as robust.
It’s not that their mental fortitude is "weak," per se, but they all have a definite tendency to depend on me.
From a long-term perspective, I can't say this is entirely healthy, but I can't exactly tell my girlfriends—who rely on me so much—not to do so.
The reason I’m bringing this up is that I can fully understand why my girlfriends, who tend to lean on me, would want to move into the house where I live.
Moreover, since I’m currently living with one of them, the others surely harbor some unspoken dissatisfaction.
However, because they knew my living at Su-ah’s wasn't a decision made solely because I wanted to spend time only with her, no one had made an issue of it until now.
"Did Yellow give her permission?"
"Yeah. We just talked about it before coming in."
Su-ah, who usually remains indifferent to most matters, seemed to have given this serious thought, as her voice carried a certain weight.
"Anyway, living together is more economical than living alone."
Su-ah had gained her independence after a legal battle with her parents that resulted in a significant settlement. While she wasn't in immediate financial distress, she knew very well that her funds wouldn't last forever.
She was also well aware that the other members' financial situations weren't exactly great.
While it was clear that the biggest reason for Eunha’s move was "me," it wasn't as if there were no other reasons.
Currently, Eunha’s only economic activity was her work as a superhuman for the Earth Defense Union. However, since she didn't receive enough pay to cover all her living expenses, it could hardly be considered a career that allowed her to be fully self-sufficient.
"I see…."
Yubin grew pensive. She looked even more serious now than when we were discussing the hacking tools.
Yubin and Su-ah are the ones who technically oppose my harem. Since they hadn't made an issue of it after our initial discussion and hadn't brought it up since, it was safe to assume their stance hadn't changed.
Yet, Su-ah had agreed to let Eunha—who supports the harem—move in.
I knew she’d permitted it for practical living reasons, but regardless, Su-ah, who opposed the harem, was letting a pro-harem member into her home.
While it was hard to say Su-ah had officially joined the pro-harem camp, it was safe to assume her stance had shifted significantly toward acceptance.
Yubin’s contemplative gaze turned toward me.
Our eyes met, but she didn't say a word.
"When are you planning to move?"
I was curious about what Yubin was thinking, but I figured Eunha’s moving schedule was the more pressing matter, so I asked her about the dates.
"I want to do it as soon as possible. Christmas is next week, so I thought it would be better to get it done before things get busy."
Christmas was already right around the corner. I briefly wondered who I should spend it with and what we should do, but I quickly shook the thought off and focused on Eunha.
"So, I’m hoping to do it sometime this week."
"Is there anything I can help with?"
"It’s okay. I can handle the organizing, and I don't have that much luggage anyway."
Eunha had already decluttered quite a bit during her last move. The difference between her house before the move and now was noticeable enough that it was clear she’d gotten rid of a lot of things.
Still, she was moving into a single room now, not a whole house, so she’d likely have to downsize even further.
"I’ll help anyway. It’ll be faster if we do it together than if you do it alone..."
"Oppa."
Yubin called out to me softly as I offered my help. In that short moment, I realized I’d forgotten that I needed to work on the hacking tools.
"Ah…."
I had immediate work to do, so I wasn't in a position to leisurely help Eunha move.
"I’ll help Green."
Yubin, the only one among my girlfriends who currently knew about my plan, stepped up to help Eunha.
"I’m really fine."
"Forget it. I’ve got nothing but time except for the weekends."
In the midst of her hectic schedule, Yubin had somehow finished her semester and started her winter break. Aside from her weekly duel and her weekend part-time job, her schedule was wide open, allowing her to decide to help Eunha move in an instant.
"Thank you."
"Whatever. It’s no big deal."
Seeing Eunha smile, Yubin blushed and looked away, seemingly embarrassed.
So, Eunha was moving into Su-ah’s place. As the homeowner, Su-ah obviously knew, and Yubin, who was here today, had found out as well.
I figured Yura and Hayoung, who weren't here, wouldn't know about this yet, so I thought it would be best if I told them myself.
I wasn't sure what Hayoung would decide, but it was obvious that Yura would immediately demand to move in as well.
"I want to move in too!"
The next day. I brought up Eunha’s move to Yura and Hayoung when they visited Su-ah’s house, and as expected, Yura immediately declared she wanted to move in.
"So Red is helping Green right now?"
"Yeah. She said she was going over to Eunha’s house this morning."
Yubin had said she’d help yesterday and put it into action immediately, heading to Eunha’s place early this morning.
I had been working hard on the laptop I brought from headquarters, but I took a break when I heard Yura and Hayoung had arrived.
"Not you."
Su-ah flatly rejected Yura’s loud proclamation.
I didn't expect a 100% approval, but the blunt refusal made me, Yura, and Hayoung all turn to look at Su-ah at once.
"Why? Why not me?"
"If you move in, you’re just going to stick to him and have sex every single day."
It hadn't happened yet, but as soon as I heard Su-ah say it, even I felt certain that’s exactly how it would go.
Even when I just visit Yura’s house, she stays glued to my side. Of course, I’m the one holding her too, but it’s only natural to hold her since I’m at her place.
"Well, that’s true."
But moving into Su-ah’s house would change the dynamic in many ways. Since we hadn't all lived together yet, I couldn't predict exactly how it would change, but it definitely would.
Yura knew that too, but since her mind was already filled with thoughts of being stuck to me, she didn't deny Su-ah’s words.
"Then what about Yellow? You live with A and stay stuck to him every day."
This was one of the things the girlfriends were most sensitive about. When they spend one-on-one time with me, they really don't leave my side for a second, and by now, everyone knew it was the same with the other members.
Since I lived at Su-ah’s house, everyone had already guessed we spent a lot of time together, and that guess was correct.
"Don't you guys have sex every day?"
The other girlfriends visited often, but there were days they went home early or didn't come at all. On those days, it was just me and Su-ah, and we spent our time either gaming or having sex.
As the person who knew best what we did when we were alone, Su-ah couldn't refute Yura’s point.
"I want to live here too! I want to have sex every day too!"
Being rejected from moving in seemed to be quite a shock to Yura, as she raised her voice and pressed closer to Su-ah.
"Why are you suddenly throwing a tantrum?!"
"Because if I don't, you won't let me! Don't keep rubbing your big butt on A all by yourself!"
"Stop touching my butt!"
I watched Yura cling to Su-ah and whine like a child demanding a toy, then I looked over at Hayoung, who was watching the two of them along with me.
"What about you?"
"Hmm…."
Since Yura was following Eunha’s lead in wanting to move in, I wondered if Hayoung’s thoughts had changed as well. Yubin might change her mind too once she heard the news.
"You’re still not sure?"
"What do you mean, not sure?"
I tilted my head at Hayoung’s words, noting her complicated expression.
"I want to live with you more than anything, but... we chose the house I’m living in now together."
Only then did I understand Hayoung’s perspective. Having moved around so much and lived in so many places, I didn't have the habit of getting attached to a specific location.
To me, a home just needs to be a place where I can rest comfortably.
But for Hayoung, it was different. After spending a long time at home taking care of the children, she had finally gained her independence, and she and I had looked for the house and furniture together. That home held a deep significance for her.
"Do whatever you want to do. You don't have to move into Su-ah’s house, and I can just visit your place often."
I never intended to force anyone to move into Su-ah’s house in the first place. I wasn't the homeowner, and ultimately, the decision rested with the person who would be moving.
While it would be nice to have all my girlfriends under one roof, I couldn't just say, "Move because I want you to!"
"Okay."
It seemed Hayoung hadn't really thought about moving into Su-ah’s place, so she’d probably need some time to think it over.
Of course, whatever decision she made, I intended to respect it.
"Fine! I get it!"
Su-ah’s voice rose, and I turned my gaze back to the two of them, who were rolling around again.
"Really? I can move in too?"
At some point, Su-ah’s clothes had been half-pulled off, and Yura was pinned on top of her on the floor below the sofa.
"Move in and have sex every day or whatever, do what you want!"
"Yes!"
It seemed Su-ah had given her permission for Yura to move in, though I wasn't sure if that counted as official consent.
Thinking about it any further was just going to give me a headache, so I decided to go back to my room and continue working.
"Where are you going?"
As I stood up to head to the room, Yura lifted her head and stared at me.
There was a pink glint in her eyes, and I could instinctively sense what was about to happen next.
