Choi Rina had a feeling the government would eventually come knocking. National interest would be the excuse — some official outreach to Liria and her companions. From the state's point of view, helping Liria settle properly in Korea and supporting her ventures was exactly the kind of thing a government ought to be doing. And from Liria's side, if Korea's terms didn't sit well with her, there was nothing stopping her from packing up and finding another country.
But human greed had no bottom. Choi Rina was certain that, one way or another, greedy people would find their way to Liria's door.
"Liria has so many ways to make money besides the cafe. I honestly don't even understand why she bothers running one."
"I think logistics would be the fastest way to make money, too."
Kim Gayoung was of the same mind — nothing generated profit quite like the transportation business. Park Dahye immediately chimed in agreement.
For Liria, the cafe was pocket change. If Hong Doowon simply got the word out about the coffee, there wouldn't even be a need for a shop. Auctioning it off would be far more profitable. The cafe existed purely as a hobby. It was also her first business on Earth, which made her all the more attached to it.
"Will you be able to prepare more food starting tomorrow?"
"Of course."
"From tomorrow on, you'll need to make four times — no, at least five times — what you made today."
"That's absolutely doable."
"We'll make as much as we possibly can."
Salion figured that if hatchlings like himself or Liria's family showed up, today's portions would be nowhere near enough. Prep time had been short, so this amount was acceptable for today — but starting tomorrow, he hoped they'd lay out a proper feast.
Liria resolved to bring every family member and hatchling who had time during lunch, starting the next day.
After the meal, Choi Rina and Jung Miso were about to start the dishes when they froze in astonishment. Liria had cast a spell, and every plate came out spotless in a single burst of magic.
"I can't believe magic can be used like this. That's incredible."
"We don't even need to do the dishes anymore."
"Thank you, Liria."
"Thanks."
"Henceforth, Liria shall assist with the washing of dishes."
Liria said it with a small nod.
No matter how much someone loved cooking, nobody loved doing the dishes. If they did, dishwashers never would have been invented. Dishwashers were convenient, sure, but they had the drawback of taking forever. Even the fastest models on the market took over an hour, as far as they knew. Liria had solved the whole thing in a single second. Magic, they decided, was awfully convenient.
After lunch, the group headed down to the first floor, while Choi Rina and Jung Miso left to take care of other business. Liria was grateful to the two of them for jumping in and cooking despite having been recruited so suddenly. It would only be for a short while, but she hoped they'd enjoy their time here all the same.
Before afternoon hours began, Liria brought Yu Jaeseung and Song Jisu over, then immediately went live.
"You can get your hopes up, everyone. This afternoon's stream is going to be huge."
Na Sujeong had already transferred the footage from the camera Silvia had given her onto the computer. She'd only peeked at the opening herself, and even that had her buzzing with anticipation.
The video started. The footage looked like it had been filmed from the air behind Liria and Silvia.
"The footage you're seeing now is from the day Liria first became an adventurer, so it means a lot."
Liria and Silvia stepped properly into the Adventurer's Guild. The majority of the people inside were human adventurers, though beastmen appeared here and there among them. The viewers could barely contain themselves.
"What is 'cutest in the world'?"
Salion had learned Hangul well enough to read, but abbreviations were another matter entirely. Slang like that didn't translate cleanly at all. People always said Korean was difficult, and now that he was actually learning it, he was finding out just how true that was. It sounded like a compliment, which only made not knowing more frustrating.
"It means the cutest in the entire world."
"You know your stuff, human."
"Who was making fun of me?"
"Don't bother with the likes of chat."
"An apology has been offered, so I shall let it pass."
"Hmph."
Salion watched the praise roll through the chat and found his mood improving, just a little. To think humans of all creatures could make him feel this good.
Then a middle-aged man appeared on screen, and the chat lost its mind.
The viewers were puzzled by how startled the Guild Master looked upon hearing Liria's name.
When the receptionist brought out the cookies, the viewers found the unfamiliar shapes fascinating. They looked handmade, and surprisingly appetizing.
"I kind of want to try those cookies too."
"Fancy sweets taste fine, but Earth's cookies come in more variety, so they're better."
"Silvia used to buy me a great many of them. They are strongly sweet, and pleasant enough for it. Earth's cookies, however, offer far more variety, and that is the greater pleasure."
"The taste is fine, yet one tires of it quickly."
"There you have it, everyone."
"Eleas Coffee is the finest there is."
"There's no Earth coffee that can touch Eleas Coffee. You'd only understand if you've actually tried it."
"What does Earth's coffee taste like?"
"If you can drink Eleas Coffee, there's no reason to bother."
Salion decided, based on Na Sujeong's answer, that he didn't need to try it. So Eleas Coffee wasn't just the best in Selenia — it was the best on Earth as well.
The moment Liria pulled back her hood, the chat exploded. Even from behind, cuteness poured off her in waves.
