To the Supermarket
Silvia had learned the convenience of the internet after teaching them smartphones and the internet.
She was startled to discover that shopping could be ordered with a simple tap of the finger and delivered right to the door.
In Selenia there had been no delivery culture, so Earth’s delivery system looked incredibly convenient.
But shopping at the mart with Liria would be entirely different from ordering something with a tap.
“Now, let us go. Silvia unnie.”
“Mm. Liria.”
“I’m so looking forward to shopping with Liria and Silvia unnie.”
Park Dahye said with a bright, cheerful smile.
Outside, many people were snapping photos of the Elf Cafe with their smartphones.
“There are still quite a few people around.”
“Indeed. Everyone seems to be carrying smartphones.”
“They look like they’re taking pictures of our cafe.”
“They seem reluctant to leave after seeing Liria.”
“They look even more reluctant after seeing Silvia unnie.”
Silvia gently took Liria’s hand in hers.
She had not forgotten the reason she had followed Liria here.
She did not believe any humans on Earth would harm Liria, yet one could never be certain about the affairs of people.
Humans without mana would not be able to touch even a single strand of Liria’s hair.
Of course, even with mana present, Liria was a 10-star talent and no one could touch her.
“There are cars over there. It’s still a bit of a distance to the supermarket.”
“What is a car?”
“Are there no cars in Selenia?”
“There are none of those.”
Silvia had no idea what a car was.
Although she had come to Earth for the first time, there were many strange things to see.
High-rise buildings, and strange things with wheels speeding along at great speed.
“Those things with wheels? On Earth people usually ride them to travel long distances.”
“Earth humans move so uncomfortably. They could simply fly or use spatial movement.”
“Even for very long distances they fly.”
“Can Earth people fly?”
“No. There are flying vehicles called airplanes. They use them to fly across continents.”
“Park Dahye seems to know a great many things.”
“Anyone who is a modern person knows it.”
Silvia thought Earth was a fascinating planet.
Though only humans existed and no magic, it was a world that had developed through science and technology, which sparked her interest.
Silvia held Liria’s hand and followed Park Dahye.
And they arrived in front of a car.
“This is our car.”
“Indeed.”
Though buckling the seatbelt felt a little troublesome, Silvia endured it, for it was Earth’s law.
It would have been nice if she could sit Liria on her lap, but Earth seemed to have many unnecessary laws that were illegal.
Humans on Earth must be quite weak.
She had thought Liria would be excited since it was her first time riding in a car, but Liria, having memories as an Earthling, was already familiar with cars.
She was more accustomed to public transportation than personal cars.
Curious, Silvia stared at the navigation screen and could not hold back her questions.
“What is this?”
“This is a navigation that guides you on the road. Like this.”
Park Dahye had chosen the large supermarket they were going to with the navigation.
Since Silvia could not read, she checked the navigation only with pictures.
“This is telling you the way? Couldn’t we make something like this in Selenia?”
“Navigations require a special machine called a satellite. Moreover, they require mathematically perfect calculations to avoid errors. I also heard they input information about the map by directly running across the country.”
“It sounds incredibly complicated.”
Silvia felt a great attraction to this planet called Earth.
Was this the science the dwarves had been researching?
Was Liria trying to do business here for that reason?
She was deeply proud and admiring of Liria.
“Then, shall we depart?”
“Ooh.”
Like a child, Silvia showed great excitement as the car started moving.
Liria had thought she would be as thrilled as Silvia, but in truth she showed no reaction at all.
“It’s amazing that this lump of iron can move without a word.”
“That’s right? This is all the product of science. Thanks to the scientists.”
“Science is really amazing.”
“I think magic is much more amazing. Especially subspace magic and spatial movement. Jumping over worlds. I think even science could never do that.”
“Spatial magic that can transcend the world is Liria’s specialty, and in Selenia, Liria is the only one.”
“Indeed? If there were many like Liria, someone would have already transcended the world and moved to Earth.”
Park Dahye thought Liria was truly an amazing being.
She possessed mana capable of transcending the world and was skilled in manufacturing, so she could create subspace bags where time was stopped.
She did not know the usage of the subspace bag and translation ring Liria had given her, but she believed it was impossible with current mana.
After all, she had not felt any sense that mana had been granted to her.
Now it had either increased by one, or perhaps mana did not exist for Earthlings.
“By the way, did mana really appear for me? Because mana herbs might not be given to Earthlings.”
“Indeed, it increased by one.”
“Is that so? I still don’t quite understand what mana is.”
Park Dahye was overjoyed to hear that mana had appeared to her.
It was only one, but the fact that it had come from nothing was important.
They thought they could use magic as the first Earthlings.
If other Earthlings someday became connected to Liria, they might even give them mana herbs.
“I will explain the method of using mana after shopping is over and we return.”
“Really, Silvia?”
“If mana has appeared, you need to know how to use it. You need to register the subspace bag quickly.”
“Thank you so much.”
Park Dahye felt deep emotion toward Silvia.
There must have been a reason why Liria was so well followed.
While watching Park Dahye drive, Silvia learned roughly how it was done.
There were paved roads, cars could run on those roads, green lights and red lights, and one had to stop at red lights.
The speed was quite slow, but she thought it was a very fun vehicle.
“Can anyone drive a car?”
“Yes. Legally, once you become an adult and obtain a driver’s license, you can drive right away.”
“A driver’s license?”
“Yes. Because human bodies are quite weak, if hit by a car you could die. So the law is that only qualified people can drive.”
“Human bodies are really inconvenient. Dying just by bumping into this lump of iron.”

Silvia thought about humans again.
Dragons had been powerful from the beginning, so they had not cared much about the science the dwarves were researching.
After all, in a world of survival of the fittest, strength was the truth.
Drakes and wyverns of lower races were classified as monsters because of low intelligence, but top dragons like Silvia were respected by humans.
Silvia had held similar thoughts about those dragons.
But after meeting Liria, she had different thoughts.
Liria was superior if judged only by magical ability, yet she acknowledged the science researched by the dwarves.
Moreover, one of the products made with science and technology, a coffee machine.
A combination of magic and science, but a work that could not have been completed with magic alone.
In addition, Liria had spoken of the importance of science.
If science developed greatly, they said one could go to space without mana.
Though Silvia believed everything Liria said, actually whether they could reach space was doubtful.
But after coming to Earth, her mind had changed.
Could Earth humans fly to space far away?
There was something about airplanes carrying humans, so maybe science technology that could fly to far space existed.
“Park Dahye, is there science technology on Earth that can fly to space far away?”
“How did you know? Humans have reached the moon.”
“Liria told me. When you reach the end of science, you can go to space.”
“Liria is really smart. Truly amazing.”
“Liria believed that when science develops enormously, you can fly to space without mana.”
“Amazing. Believing in science in a world where science has not developed.”
Silvia realized that Liria’s words were true.
She thought Earth humans were truly amazing for being able to go to space without mana.
Of course, the reason Liria knew was because she had memories of living on Earth.
