I Finally Became E-Class! (Part 2)
The chairman dropped to his knees on the cold floor of the bathroom, trembling violently as he spoke.
“S-sorry, s-sorry… but… I didn’t know the guy at all. He was just the new waiter who showed up today. I committed a crime that deserves death. Please, spare me! Uhhh!”
“Just drink it already, you bastard!”
“Please… don’t do this. I just had a baby with my wife a few days ago. I… I have a son. This kind of thing….”
“Fuck you, whether you have a son or not, what does it matter to me!”
He raised his hand to slap the waiter across the face, but I reached out from behind and grabbed both of their necks at once, then smashed their heads together like I was cracking a walnut.
*THUD*
I made sure to be extra gentle.
No point in killing them if their brains got destroyed.
*THUD* *THUD*
They hit the floor with perfect force, faces smacking against the tile, and passed out cold.
I snatched the phone from the floor where the camera was rolling, hurled it into the toilet, then helped the chairman to his feet.
“Chairman, I’m truly sorry for getting you involved because of me. I’ll make sure to explain everything to President Ji Yosin and keep you completely out of this.”
“T-thank you.”
I pulled out two 500,000-won bills from my wallet and slipped them into his pocket.
“Sorry I couldn’t put it in an envelope. Here, buy your son a toy with it. Congratulations on your new baby.”
* * *
When I finished that flashback, my phone rang.
It was Ji Yosin from Red Tower.
“Ah, Deputy Choi.”
- Ah, it’s Ji Yosin. How have you been?
“I’m doing well, President. How about you?”
- Haha, I’ve been great thanks to you too.
He jumped straight to the main point.
- Actually, I called because I felt like I should pass on this message.
“What is it?”
- You know the guy who bought all three Ssangdu-palbi Ougre species? He’s the only son of President Jang Mageuk from the Jeguk Guild.
“Oh, really?”
- Haha, yes. And that young lady just set a new bounty on her head at 20 billion won. Usually when Ougre are killed, they drop the belts and bracelets that grant power, right? So that double-pal guy must have been wearing some items too….”
“Ah, I see. I’ll look into it for you through the guild.”
- Haha, thank you. And there’s one more thing I wanted to tell you.
“Yes?”
- It’s… the friend I told you about, Ha Insu… could you take good care of him?
“Ha Insu? I don’t know any Ha Insu.”
- Ah, he’s the friend who worked as a two-chair waiter manager that day at the auction house.
“Ah! I remember now. The one who just had a baby? Yes, but…?”
- Ah, my friend had a terrible accident yesterday.
“What kind of accident?”
- He got into a fight with a gang of delinquent teenagers on the way home and his wrist was sliced off.
“What? That’s…”
- I’m so sorry. A friend you specifically asked me to look after has fallen into this kind of trouble… But since it happened right after work, I couldn’t do anything about it. I’m truly sorry.
Suddenly, the beautiful yet cruel face of Jang Pomi flashed before my eyes.
I’d have to investigate a bit, but I was pretty sure 90% of this was her doing.
“Where is Ha Insu right now?”
Ji Yosin gave me the hospital address in detail, then added.
- I don’t know exactly what happened that day either. But… from your perspective, it would be best not to get tangled up with the Jeguk Guild for no reason. Those people are the kind who fear nothing in the world, not even the law.

A short while later, I found Ha Insu in a hospital room filled with eight people, his right wrist completely severed.
“Uhhh, what are we going to do now, oppa?”
His young wife was cradling a newborn baby and clinging to my shoulder, sobbing bitterly.
Ha Insu stared blankly out the window with a dazed expression.
According to what Ji Yosin had just told me, he was a skilled veteran waiter who had spent his entire life serving in high-end restaurants.
He married late at 42, and the moment he had a son, this lightning-bolt disaster struck.
With his wrist cut off, he probably wouldn’t be able to keep working as a waiter anymore.
My eyes filled with rage as I asked him.
“Did you report it to the police?”
He let out a wry smile.
“…I did, but what difference does it make? We don’t know if we can catch those delinquent kids, but even if we do… uncovering their bosses is going to be tough.”
Since the Tower rose, the world had slowly begun to revolve around giant guilds. The Jeguk Guild had earned a notorious reputation as an entity that operated beyond the law.
“Because this happened because of me, I will make sure to compensate those bastards and treat Chairman thoroughly.”
When I said that, his wife burst out laughing in disbelief.
“What? How are we supposed to treat a hand that’s already been ripped off! And how are we supposed to get compensated from the Jeguk Group? If my husband had just drunk that filthy water that day, the whole thing would’ve ended… You unnecessarily got involved! It’s your fault! Your fault! Uhhh.”
Ha Insu tried to calm her down.
“Please stop. He’s the person who saved us that day. He doesn’t have anywhere else to vent his anger, so he’s taking it out on us.”
She collapsed into tears, “Ahhh!”
“Sigh… I’m sorry. My wife is very sensitive right now… Sir, you didn’t do anything wrong. Anyway… be careful too. Don’t get involved with the Jeguk Group and end up like me…”
“Is the severed hand being preserved?”
“Sigh… They’re keeping it in cold storage. But the cut is too messy… surgical reattachment is impossible, and even a healer can only give me a temporary fix. The cost… it’s over 3 billion won… Uhhh.”
Healers were like that.
The sooner you got healed after an injury, the cheaper it was.
But the longer you waited, the more mana it required.
Especially when the limb was torn off in a jagged way, the price skyrocketed.
“I’ll cover the cost.”
When I said that, his wife and he both turned to me with skeptical expressions.
Dressed in shabby Tower Scavenger rags, he looked like he didn’t have 300 million won, let alone 3 billion.
“R-really?”
“Healing is a matter of time. Immediately prepare the transfer procedures to Jeguk Medipharm.”
They showed clear reluctance toward the word “Jeguk,” but I reassured them that this “Jeguk” had nothing to do with the other one.
* * *
A short while later, I loaded Ha Insu and his wife into the ambulance and headed back to Jeguk Medipharm.
Jeguk Medipharm wasn’t a formal hospital, but it had the facilities and staff needed for mana healing, so Ha Insu received treatment without any issues.
After seeing him sent to the healing room, I came out. Spending money because of me was only right, but the sour feeling in my chest couldn’t be helped.
Jang Pomi… you bastard…
We’ll see.
The day I collect 100 times, 1,000 times the debt will come.
Anyway, I needed to sell royal jelly soon to raise 3 billion.
But more bad news hit me.
Suddenly the status window displayed an odd message.
